Hey, thanks for mentioning us and our coverage of the CCXP panel! And yes, the frames showing Moiraine outside looking at the Tower come directly from the the scene shown at the event, just after the battle in the Hall of the Tower.
I think the sharing of drink between Elayne and Avienda is them drinking to a deal that Avienda will watch over Rand in the Waste. Avienda's conflict over that is central to her character development.
I have been waiting for your post on these. A very good review as always. As someone that has read the full series, its sometimes sad to see what is left out or changed but I also understand the limitations that doing a show presents. The changes I feel don't make the over all story any less just slightly different. March can't come soon enough.

From the first sight of the shot of Mat with the wounds on his neck I assumed that they were from a game of Maiden's Kiss. Perhaps with Avi, Bain, and Chiad? Also, what if the shot of Mat, Nynaeve, and Min with the man in the hat is a way to show us that Mat's luck is in. The man could be trying a con game such as Three Card Monte or the Shell Game on them, but Mat keeps winning it.
Yey for you and your amazing sense of detail! (And humor, Choedan Ball? :P Also almost spewed water across the screen at the sudden mention of Steve XD ) Re: the shot of Lanfear in the doorway: hasn't it been rather established that she wears her hair short and wetlook-y like that in t'a'r, and long and flowing in the real world? Also her outfit seem very AoL, so I thought it was either a flashback (but a weathered TV doorframe would counter that) or something from t'a'r. Watching the gang from the WoD possibly?
As for the Lord Agelmar thing, I think the hard cutoff for making new power wrought weapons would be the swearing of the three oaths at the end of the war with Hawkwing. It's not impossible that at some point between Sheinar being founded and then that sword was made and given to a previous Lord Agelmar. I'm essentially writing fanfic at this point, but it'd be pretty choice as a guest gift from Malkieri royalty visiting Fal Dara and make the gesture of giving it back to Lan a pretty huge gesture. I think the canon backstory for Lan's royal sword would still be significant for being from the age of legends even if there were still some new weapons being made when an Aes Sedai happened to have the talent and could use it.
Great thoughts. I actually am starting to latch onto a theory that maybe Melindhra in the show is the one who holds onto and gives Lan his Malkieri sword in S3.
My theory to explain the sword is that it was sent along with baby Lan when he escaped to Shienar as a way to ensure that Lord Agelmar would take him in. Like a "thanks in advance". Perhaps a channeler in Shienar inscribed it.
I really hope that they don’t cancel this series! Cause I’m really loving it, no it isn’t exactly like the books but I really enjoy it. To me I see it like the show is just one of those realities the Wheel Weaves like the ones Rand experienced trying to use the Portal stones with Verin
27:15 I hope that that Moraine's plot from book 5 is happening in the last episode. I think it would be an excellent cliffhanger for Season 4 in which the others might bring the redstone doorframe to the wetlands, so Mat can have his plotline in S4! Overall I'm soo exited!!!
Spoilers up to the end of book 5. What if Siuan dies in the black ajah attack in episode 1 and Moraine dies in episode 8. The show runners seem to like the symmetric aspects of the books. This could also explain the lack of evidence of the coup. Elaida would become amyrlin after the death of Siuan. I also vaguely remember a rumour that the actress for Siuan wasnt too thrilled about staying in the show.
Theory: Siuan channeling calls a storm with lightning to fight black ajah (we saw her call rain to put out the fires in Cairhien). Maybe that is why it is raining in the Moiraine shot within Tar Valon.
I am glad that the Show team did not have Aviendha sit on a chair. In the books, the Aiel only sit in chairs in formal occasions, and then (I believe), it is only the clan chief. Rather, she and Elayne are sitting on the floor. There appears to be a table and chairs in the background. My guess. The three women are looking at Rand as he is about to be shielded and taken to the White Tower to await the use as a weapon during the Last Battle.
Excellent breakdown! I still hold out hope that we will get Mat hoping through the red door in Tanchico and seeing Foxes and Snakes . . . but what if he does not come out in Rhuidean? What if instead he pops out in Ebou Dar and starts his storyline in Season Four where he meets the daughter of the nine moons, maybe an illuminator or two, etc.
Great breakdown. I appreciate you telling us which episodes the images appear. Huh, I wonder if Mat's neck wounds could be self inflicted during a second and more involved healing from the dagger. Feels a bit like wishful thinking considering the state of the tower likely will be in right off the bat, but I love that scene in the books.
Me too, I'm really wanting that Mat being healed scene. I'd also love for characters like Elaida and Morgase to somehow meet Rand and Mat, but I'm not totally sure how that will all fit.
The description of Moiraines clothes in the scene on the docks in book five chap 52 matches the costume worn in the last shot, making me think it is the confrontation with Lanfear.
The figure on the bed in Rand's room when he's using the One Power is probably one of the mirror images that come out of the mirrors to fight him, like in the Shadow Rising.
Melindhra could have the sword Lan is using, it would be a good way to get across the Aiel no sword thing, and it would make sense if she traveled to the waste armed and wasn't willing to throw it away even if she was committed to never using it again. It'd create a link between her and Lan and have a reason for her heritage to come up. I like it as an echo of Avhienda's gift to Rand in the books if we don't get that actually happening in the show.
Unrelated to this video but do you have any idea what happened to the Origin animations for the show? They were really good and could've kept people interested between seasons with little histories or info that can educate non book reading viewers.

The absence of Flicker, the lack of the portal alternate dimension/timeline (where Rand first meets Lanfear in the books), the possible lack of Snakes and Foxes...I don't think they either have the time, patience or trust in their audience to include those bits of world building without over expositing on them. @UnravelingthePattern yeah I have. Just thought he would be paranoid, or at least wary of aes sedai at that stage. But hey, I'm interested to see how it works on screen, so no matter.
It's silly but I get more views when I put "massive" in the title. Also, your comment makes it clear that you didn't bother to actually watch the video. There are 10 images. You know if you don't watch you also don't have to comment.
WHY do shows need to diverge so much from the books? I don't mind leaving things out or slightly modifying storylines to speed up the flow. What's with this "poly amorous" arc to the relationship between the girls? Just keep it simple and don't add stuff that's not there!
There are many reasons. Budget restraints, casting restraints, things like Covid or strikes, executive meddling. The list goes on and on. But the main reason is that a 1:1 adaptation from one medium like books to another, like TV, is literally impossible.
I know, right? Girls kissing is gross, amirite? At the time of publishing "gay stuff" wasn't really acceptable and now we live in a civilized society where adult humans can choose who to love and be in relationships with. Why not have the show reflect that? Sorry I know inclusivity is woke.
@UnravelingthePattern I understand all that. I'm not complaining about speeding things up or omitting certain arcs to streamline the story. I'm also aware of such constraints and I agree with them What I'm talking about is that if you are having trouble fitting in important or secondary storylines, why would you INVENT something not in the source material, to add a totally new or irrelevant concept. I'm talking about the overtly sexual stuff between Moraine and Siuan, or Elaine and Avendha. The books don't focus on sexual relationships (even if they hint at them). Why must everything be sexualized and enlarged beyond the source material? Enough with the agenda... let us enjoy the material we all grew up reading and imagining
@@TheToxicScottpublishing "gay stuff" hasn't been an issue for decades, and if the books stressed on that I would be less annoyed about them making that part of the character's core Are you saying now people can't watch a show without sexual content, gay or straight? There are many other storylines they could use to keep the show interesting, but they're dropping arcs for various reasons, yet EVERY show and movie now has to push this stuff. You can't let your kids stream anything anymore without the fear of some sexual content or theme getting pushed on them
My advice; let the name pronunciations NOT follow pure American format.... consider using foreign accents (non-North American) in character, item, land names. Why is it Ai-daam, and not Ah-dam (similar to the way you pronounce Ah-jah and not Ai-jah)... consider Mandragoraaan and not Mandragorin... consider Asmodeen rather than Asmo-diyan... Carheen, rather than Car-iyan.... Ruydaan, not Ruwidi-yin

I'm also aware of such constraints and I agree with them
What I'm talking about is that if you are having trouble fitting in important or secondary storylines, why would you INVENT something not in the source material, to add a totally new or irrelevant concept.
@@TheToxicScottpublishing "gay stuff" hasn't been an issue for decades, and if the books stressed on that I would be less annoyed about them making that part of the character's core
Are you saying now people can't watch a show without sexual content, gay or straight?
Nope
Yes
He's going by the pronunciations in the back of the books. Not sure why that's an issue.
@@TheToxicScott are you following my comments are replying or comparing about each other them?
@@hanisaadi Nah, wasn't aware both dumbass comments were made by the same dude.
Morgase's dress is AWFUL.
No fixing this dumpster fire of a show.
