I don't think 1980 was actually late in his career, he went on long after that!! Also Mr Berry was alive until 2017, not 2007 as you have written. A correction is in order.
I saw Chuck at Finsbury Park when he first came to UK - he was awful. A few days later in Woolwich he was sensational. I took my children to see him in Cardiff so that they could see living history. He didn't disappoint.
It didn't help that he just used local bands instead of having a permanent backing band. Sometimes these bands were good others they could be total crap
Not convinced Chuck cared if everyone was happy.... As long as that wad of cash was in the pocket of his bell bottoms before picking up the guitar.... 😁
If this is the concert at Seattle center..I was there ..he pulled the cord out of the bass...then pointed him offstage mid song...after just a couple songs.
I believe it. At this stage of his career he would just show up and the promoter would supply a backing band. If the bass player wasn’t playing right, I’m sure he would not hesitate to get rid of him.
PURE joy thank you. True King
That's a pretty cool live one 👍😉👌
Roads are long and gunds are... Hail to Mr. Rock n Roll. R. I. P

RIP
Damn that would have been cool to see him live.
It was... all 5 times and 2 autographs

Ha. When will they make a feature biopic of Chuck Berry - the "most authentic" King of Rock and Roll!?

Not the best version but still bloody good. Probably the greatest rock and roll song ever????.........................discuss.
No bass player? At least I can't hear one.
