    Good Job ! I changed the hoses,belt and water pump when I did mine. You can also power wash the front of the engine and change the oil filter base o-ring which is notorious for leaking. What’s the oil consumption on your engine ?

      Thank you! That's definitely a good idea, I contemplated doing the water pump but had just done the thermostat and auxiliary pump and decided I could just do it later if needed. Especially now that I know how it will be much easier.
      Oil consumption is very minimal! I don't have to add any oil between changes at about 5k miles. It may go down slightly but never enough to be below the minimum amount.

    Please, tell me is it possible to remowe the cooler fan without ripping off the radiator…so there would be space enough to replace serpentine belt with pulleys and oilfilter gasket?
    For me it looks, that the lower legs in the frame are lying under the radiator hoses?

    Hey Nat, really helpful video. Do you think it’s possible to install the top and bottom radiator hose without removing the radiator?

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  Рік тому

      I think so…I’ll take a look at where those hoses connect and get back to you but I think so

      Thank you, I had my radiator replaced and they couldn’t get new hoses at the time - so I’ll need to get them ordered soon.
      I had a rear water leak like what you described and it was a cheap fix with a new seal sorting it out. Hopefully yours is the same 🤞

      That’s good to hear! Everything I’ve heard seems to make the water issue seem like a relatively easy fix luckily

    Great video, nice and short ! Do I have to refill the transmission oil?
    Thanks I really appreciate it

      I didn’t replace any because I only lost a little bit, but if you end up loosing a decent amount then yeah unfortunately you’d have to add some

      Thanks so so much for your quick response. Mine is a Mercedes GL 450 2016 I hope the process is pretty much the same. I’m not sure how to top off the transmission oil on these cars. So knowing that I don’t have to do that gives me peace of mind. One more thing, it looks like taking the front bumper off is my best bet. Once again thank you so much and thank you for your videos, great work.

      @monumentauto  Рік тому

      Yeah removing the bumper creates a lot more space. And if the 7 speed automatic is the same or similar to the 7g tronic in mine, you have to pump fluid into the pan from the bottom drain plug and let it reach operating temp until the fluid just barely spills out of the drain plug. Pain in the butt without a nice lift and fluid transfer pump

      @@monumentauto keep up the great work, thanks a lot for the pointers. I’m gonna cross my fingers I just lose very little transmission oil so I don’t have to do any refilling. Well you take care, I really appreciate your help.

    Good morning, how many kilometers do you change this radiator or was it the fault?

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  Рік тому +1

      The radiator was broken - it had a crack in the plastic. I changed it at about 140,000 miles I think. Not sure if it was original or not

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  Рік тому

      No you can replace the belt without unplugging/disconnecting anything I believe
