Talk about letting the cat out of the bag, as a trader you just need to figure out how you want to skin the cat. But this was a missing puzzle in my trading plan, need to still work on back testing after this, but i have no doubt life will change after this webnair. Nice presentation. I usually look at the long format disaggregated report and I look primarily at the Gold chart. So, it's basically what I view as asymmetric information. We don't know, for example, who the 4 or 8 largest traders are. We don't know when or at what price, they established their long or short positions. We also don't know their ladder of expiration months. Swaps, I consider as bullion banks or market makers. Managed Money I consider to be hedge funds. I look at it weekly, but to be honest its very limited as an analysis tool. Thank you for presenting.
I specifically trade SPY. And im familiar with the futures markets and very familiar with barcharts COT charts. Is their any way to use another instrument that tracks the COT that may have a relationship with SPY?
I wanted to ask if you have a Ratio indicator for intra-day trading so that one can enter when it aligns with the trend. Since the COT data indicates highter timeframes like weeks and months, the ratio indicator would help traders to still benefit from it if coupled with a Ratio Indicator. I am not sure if you have it in the Tools. Thank you
Trading in the FX markets for over 12 years, I am really struggling to understand on how to digest and use this information. I feel the information is lagging and it provides zero value. It's a fact that by the time the report is released, all the positions have been executed into the market. You may argue it's a good way of look at what the commercials on non commercials are doing but again, all this information is reflected on the candle charts. Even if it's long term or short term, it's all on the candle charts so therefore I am confused. What am I missing? Or am I right that the COT provides zero value hence most traders don't know about this tool?
