I was on a compound GLP-1 for about 9 months. I felt the best I ever have and my inflammation greatly improved. I dropped 30 lbs with strength training, hiking, walking, and eating a high protein diet consisting of Whole Foods. I chose to stay at the lowest dose the entire time. It was incredibly life changing. Due to the cost, I had to stop taking it and hoped my healthy habits would maintain my progress, but unfortunately my body has reversed a lot of progress and 20 lbs came back on doing the same diet and exercises. It’s incredibly frustrating for there to be such an accessible tool to feel our best and optimize our overall health, but not be able to afford the cost and insurance won’t cover GLP-1 medications for people without diabetes.

I've never known anyone able to get off of it without regaining, that's the only thing stopping me 😔

      Do you have PCOS?

@ According to my doctor I do, as well as insulin resistance. Insurance still denied GLP-1 medications.

It's been documented that one can regain a portion of the weight after taking GLP-1. However, note that only part returned, so I would highly recommend going strong on your healthy practices and you can probably reduce eventually. The most important thing is the evacuation of visceral fat where inflammation is made. Keep at it!!! Don't be discouraged. Feel good about the progress you made...and will make!

Mari, I’ve been watching you since the pre workout and bands release. I used your pdfs for my weight loss journey. I lost 80 pounds that first year. I have kept up with it since, learned my own routines and still use the workouts from the PDF. I was diagnosed with BPD this year and struggle with fertility issues as well. Your podcasts help me to not feel so alone in my journey. I was told to use mucinex as well for my cervix mucus. Love the podcast!

I don't understand the mucinex thing. don't you need cervix mucus to lubricate during sex? or cervix mucus is not normal? I dont understand.

@banjohole from what my doctor told me is that for some women it could just be too thick so sperm isn’t getting through as well? Just what she told me, but I would seek out answers from your doctor as well.

@@banjoholeit’s mainly for trying to conceive. Many women with PCOS do not have enough cervical mucous because of their hormone issues. Medications, like anything, have risks and side effects so I would not recommend using Mucinex just to have better mucous during sex. Lube is just a better option for that. For trying to conceive though, taking it during your fertile window can be beneficial.

Hi mari, you have lost a lot of weight lately, did you take glp-1? some are saying you are on trizepeptide, as per your calendar shared on your Instagram story, it seems true? Can you clarify?

I have been taking Triz for 6 months. I used to be irregular and before Triz I became regular. Once taking Triz I have become irregular and longer cycles. I suffer from PCOS and had scans on month 4 of Triz and PCOS was still there. I am hoping with weight loss this will help but unfortunately for me I haven’t been able to see results for fertility. With 6 miscarriages, once I have a baby, this will show me it helped 😢

🙌Great video and and Dr Tyna is a great communicator with GLP-1s and so well versed and a great advocate for women. Most people will need to remain on a GLP-1 to some extent in order to manage their weight, appetite and satiety long term. After decades of struggling with my weight and being an athlete GLP-1s have turned my life around. I’ve been on GLP-1 (Ozempic/Wegovy & Mounjaro/Zepbound) since 2022 and I plan to be on it to some extent the rest of my life. I lost 50lb+ and gained muscle & strength and maintaining 113lb over a year. I’ll be staying on a GLP-1. Sharing my story, experience, information, and on-going maintenance on my YT channel
