Cool! I made hash browns for breakfast this morning! It was just me for breakfast, so I just took a small tator and shredded it with the old knuckle buster and cooked them us. So good with a “dippy” egg on top! Thanks for the video. 💜🙏
I did not know you could do that. WOW... I've been canning all my potatoes. I love the canned yellow and red ones but the russets just look bad with all that starch and I can't seem to get rid of it all. But with frozen hashbrowns I can make potatoes soup. What a win for me. Thanks friend.
I can a boat load of potatoes to. I do the russets to but you have to wash them until it runs clear that is why I do the strainer instead of bowls like some do you can see it running right off I agree though russets are harder to prepare the ones today were russets. Let me know how they turn out when you do them gonna try something else tomorrow
Don’t worry about living up to a bully’s standards. You have always impressed me! Great way to save the potatoes! I’m doing this!!! And it might remind us not to buy anymore for a while 😜😜😜
You know I bought that big bag cause it was yellow potatoes love them like 20 or 25 lbs for 5.99 thought well I can use the other ones up which I did today. Then we got 20 lbs gifted and believe me jack doesn't use his so basically 40lbs lol. I won't be buying any for a bit and soon I will be able to harvest mine oh boy I have an addiction help me lol
Yes I have done mashed potatoes and they were good maybe soon I will do a video on them since I have so many potatoes. It works great and they taste so good.
That’s make you human. You taught me something I didn’t know. But I’ll play this video a few times to make sure I got all the steps proper. Thank you so much for this. Great tutorial. Will this work with the square hash browns as well? Would you use the same process? Potatoes here 10$ for 10#. Once in awhile I catch then cheaper and would like to use that to my advantage? Thanks
I never think of making hash brown potatoes for the freezer. You seem to be like me, can't pass up a good deal for produce. The trick is preparing it for future use. And better tasting without all the added preservatives. Win win. I cant waut for my potato harvest. Trying 3 varities this year. It is never a bad idea to let people know that green potatoes are not healthy to eat even though stores seem to be including them in bagged potatoes the last few years.
ya that bag of yellow potatoes I just bought gonna have to go thru them found a couple green ones already. I like doing my own hashbrowns cause you do know what is in them basically nothing but potatoes lol. Ya our harvest will be coming soon so gotta get all those potatoes used up. I agree always prep for future use for sure. Thanks for being here

Nice way to preserve potatoes. I wonder if you could use them for mashed potatoes, too?
Yes I have done mashed potatoes and they were good maybe soon I will do a video on them since I have so many potatoes. It works great and they taste so good.
I've never done this. I had no idea! I have a question. Could you then before cooking them, dehydrate them? Save them for later to cook up fast?
LOL You just answered my question.
yes you would do the same steps for dehydrating. Only difference don't freeze them lol I have lots of dehydrated ones too. Give it a try my friend
Good idea. I can my taters. Next time i get a big bag ill so some hash browns
awesome let me know how it turns out

How long do they stay good in the freezer for?
I would say a good 6 months or more
