When do you know you're a pro bowler? When you get your finger literally stuck in the ball, lose total control of the ball and still pick up the spare. That's when you know you're a pro.
i’m 14; and whenever i go to bowling, i always aim for the lightest weighing ball possible, but the thing is it’s meant for smaller kids so it’s annoying how i can’t carry it correctly because my fingers usually get stuck in the holes of the ball. my arms are literally so thin, lol
Nope. Lane isn't wood. And naturally there are imperfections in the lane anyway. Its called Topography and its something Pro Bowlers take into consideration. Some houses you can't play the edge and some you can. In some Match play events like the US Open, each pair gets a Map of the actual lane that has been scanned of all of the imperfections, dents, gully's, dips etc.
This is completely understandable and has happened to me with excessively tacky urethane slugs. I find that vinyl ones stick to my thumb better but do not drag or stick at release especially during the summer months when my thumb swells. On the other hand idiots that do this with a 6 pound ball because they are drunk have no place in a bowling alley whatsoever.
@@riversarcadereview385 It depends, just like a deadwood if your ball touches it in any way the shot made is illegal and must be redone. I would think it would be the same with this, if his thumb grip hanging out made contact with the lane which interfered with ball motion it would be considered illegal.
Did this two weeks ago with a newly drilled ball... Afterwards the Proshop employee refused to widen my thumb out for me cause he didn't want me gripping with it. So I adapted, don't put my whole thumb in and it seems to work. Bowled a 637 series the next week averaging 213.
"TwO hAnDeRs ArE rUiNiNg ThE sPoRt" XD... at least we never get stuck in our own bowling ball. Imagine... imagine being critical of a technique that flattens the learning curve. Imagine calling yourself a proponent of the sport by actively condemning a technique that removes barriers to entry... You cannot say you support the future of this sport and say that two-handed bowling is ruining the sport. These two claims are at-odds with each other. Also, while I'm up here on this soapbox... scoring sucks. Imagine creating a scoring system where the score of the current frame is dependent on the outcome of future frame(s). How does the game end? It can't! So then we have to use an entirely different scoring system for the last frame of the game just to end the stupid hamster-wheel. 3 strikes in a row?! Wow! That's amazing! Too bad it was in the 10th frame, making it worth between 1/2 and 1/3 of the same outside of the 10th frame. No wonder the olympic committee wont let us become an olympic sport. Imagine if other sports worked this way... golf? Sure yeah, you just shot three consecutive birdies, so we're gonna say your first birdie was actually an albatross, your second birdy was an eagle, and your third birdy depends on how you do on the next two holes. Sound ridiculous? That's exactly how the scoring system of bowling is. Ridiculous.
Imagine being so narcissistic that you created an argument and then argued against yourself in the same comment. Imagine being so angry that you need to create fake boogeymen to fight against. Imagine being such a snowflake. You're everything that's wrong in this world.
He cheated. He wouldn't have picked up the spare if it weren't for the thumb insert. I think Dom planned this. It was the ultimate smoke and mirrors spare shot. 😳
As a bowler that’s had this happen to me, it definitely scares me, it also messes you up on the following shots
Had this happen a few days ago. Kept the ball on my hand and ended up out on the lane. Somehow I kept my balance on the oil and recovered.
@Noel Michael nice bot comment
one time my fingers and thumb stayed in the bowling ball and i basically went flying down the lane
Roy Munson struck with his prosthetic hand still attached to the ball
bruh this isnt a movie xD
Lol
Hahahahaha
you actually killed me man😭
You wouldn't happen to have a Phillip's head screwdriver, would you?

Dom, thank God you still have your thumb!!!
Same thing happened to me but the ball didn't come off my hand. Also I tore my rotator cuff, and dislocated my shoulder, and had an AC separation.
Oof
You make a good argument for learning to bowl in the two-handed, thumbless style.
Don’t feeel bad had one drop on my toe. Black and blue needed ice
LOL I see Beef Stu like umm, that doesn't deserve a fist bump lol.
I been bowling 20 years. Never done this but I have seen it 😆
I thought that was blood on his thumb for a second.
I thought I was the only one lol
Casually says "Good Spare"
I don't use a thumb insert, however this exact thing happened to me, except it was the four and seven. Luckily, I too was able to convert.
We almost had another machuga flop
My question is did he lose the switch grip when it was going through the machine
I'm not to sure
As someone who has lost around 5 thumbs in my years of bowling, I definitely had that question too!
I have lost three in the back at a specific bowling alley. The initial release is fine but they come back with no thumb.
I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago, thumb stuck and the slug pulled out partially. I didnt convert the spare though =)
This is just like game 24 at the US Open, its no big deal
If the cartoon sound effects are added in this video...
You'd think an official would do a quick inspection on the lane.
Those synthetic lanes can take a lot of abuse. The old wood lanes would take a beating from a loft like that though.
Pros loft like this regularly sometimes, it's fine
Ball goes yeet
The bowling ball I believe I can fly.
My worst nightmare
is that blood on his thumb??
Can't do switch grips, luckily my pso is spot on with every drilling of my thumb slug 😆
I dont know what the big deal is, Mika does that all the time lmfaoooooooooooo
My guy been playing a lotta wii sports
That's why I dont use the it system I break them, i better off get a slug with alot of tape.
His buddies: nice spare Dom. Owner of the lanes... What the "F"?
Well thats one way to take the oil out of play. Direct shot is always best.
At least he made the spare
Looks like a PBA skills shot lol
0:12 I legit thought he was bleeding.
The purple hammer is the cheat code for spares too?!
Done that, hit the overhead score screen
This is why I’m afraid to use changeable inserts.
My uncle got his thumb stuck and he put a ball into the ceiling. He did it twice if I'm not mistaken.
Been there done that... So many times
and this, ladies and gentlemen, is why i hate the turbo switch grips
Lol I use conventional thumb hole
I use vise's IT's
LOL. Didn't even phase him. Ball was placed perfectly from release....
Happened to me hurts like heck but it put a dent in the alley.
DAMN !!! at first I thought his thumb tore off from his hand...
If that were to happen, no way I would show that.
Now the dude won't be able to count to 10 anymore.
The biggest loft
We call it "The Big One"
Hey that’s what they used to call me.
How did that Purple Hammer bowling ball get stuck like that?!
The thumb insert got stuck to his thumb on the ball.
does that put a dent in the lane?

Ouch
Never understood how the lane doesn’t cave in. That’s a lot of force
Same reason the pins don't, they are made of wood, or a synthetic wood now.
If you saw how thick Bowling lanes are, then you would understand. ITs synthetic board on top of about 5 to 6 inches thick lane
@@wolfitsolutions5502 how much force can these lanes tank?
The reason why I always bowl two handed at the Bowling Alley is because not to get the Bowling Ball to fly into the ceiling.
June 22 2021
That almost happened to me once.
the whole insert came out with the thumb, and ball went down lane.
But your UA-cam account is ''no thumb bowler''......🤔🧐

Are you sure that’s not Valenta bowling normally?
🤣🤣🤣
An illegal shot, the ball is illegal cause the insert protruding out of the circumference of the ball
Yes and no. It would be deemed not the bowlers fault and he would have another try at the spare
Had this happen with my slugs and it broke the pins in it (Turbo slugs) not vise its

Another reason to bowl with two fingers.
used unapproved item on the ball!!!
🤣🤣🤣
is that a legal shot or a DQ
What wasn’t legal about it?
@@tylerwill5250 - was the fact the insert wasn't flush with the ball edge...like having tape on the outside is illegal
Neither. Reset the pin and re-bowl for the spare due to equipment malfunction.

I’ve done that pissed off...with a 6 lb. child’s ball. Impressive
Some serious damage to the wood on the lane. Thank you very much.
They are synthetic so its not an issue
His thumb was actually degloved. Go back and you can see his bare thumb bone. What a fuckin’ badass.
Way bowling ball boom lose spare 😅
That has happend not uncommon
Judging from these comments, you people don't know how to bowl. STOP GRIPPING THE BALL! 🤬

Proves that Doms ball track dose not run over hes thumb hole, like some novice bowlers.
It doesn't prove that. His release got messed up so I doubt that's his actual track
@@thearachnicog381 Iv watched him bowl live lots of time, so i know that the track on his ball is not over the thumb.
The fact that’s legal in any sport is why I’ll never watch this one
I mean why would it not be legal? Mistakes happen, he didn't foul and he delivered the ball before the shot timer went 0
