This is applicable to a 2012 Hyundai Accent with A/C as well (video worked fine to install a new belt). Thanks for the video! It saved me money. If I had had the dealership replace my serpentine belt, I think the cost would have been around $200. Thanks to this video, I paid $20 for a new belt at an auto parts store and did it myself. One thing that would have been helpful is some guidance for how much to tighten the belt. After the initial install, I had to tighten the belt twice more to get all squeaking to stop (I didn't install it tight enough initially). Advice for anyone trying to figure out if the belt is tight enough: turn on the headlights (more current draw = more mechanical forces at the alternator), turn on the air conditioning (more mechanical forces at the A/C compressor), then drive around and use a lot of throttle accelerating from stops. I found that if the belt will squeak at all, it will be with rapid acceleration from a stop with both headlights and A/C on. Once I tightened the belt enough to stop squeaking in that scenario, I was all set.
Sorry I kind of cannot get it. Does you mean that if tight is not enough, we can see from rapid squeak because alternator is working full power, if that is tightening enough, it wouldn’t be any noise in full power scenario
Your engine is so clean! Thanks for the great video showing the process. Hopefully can do the same with mine despite the rust and corrosion of a Canadian vehicle :P

Thank you so much for this demonstration! Gotta replace alternator and drive belt soon on my daughters Hyundai Accent.

That was my immediate thought! If it's any consolation, my engine bay is plenty grimy down here in Chicago as well.
@@JokingJay Allen Park, Michigan here. My engine with FILTHY compared to the one in the video.
nice video , very cleat good titles and the tension torque notes were very useful
The belt seems good after 80k km
Why is the new idler pulley bolt look like it has grease on it?
Thanks very much 😊
In my case, The 14mm screw is very rusty and I can't move it. What can I use to soften it? W40?
Thanks Great video
