Bei meinem PKW war der Abgaskrümmer abgerissen und die Reparatur hat 3000€😢 gekostet! Das alles fällt beim E-Autos weg. Selbst die Bremsankage hält ewig, da 95% mit dem E-Motor gebremst wird. Ich habe Bekannten die ihr E-Auto nach 8 Jahren zum 1. Mal zum Service gebracht haben weil sie das Auto verkaufen wollten. Keine Mängel. Okay da hat das Fahrprofil und die Fahrweise viel Einfluss auf den Verschleiß Der wichtigste Faktor ist die Batterie und wie diese Geladen wird, das kennen wir ja durch unsere EUC. Stelle dir vor es gäbe EUC mit Verbrennungsmotor und Scheibenbremse 🤣, würdest du so etwas fahren? 🤣

Thank you for this very useful trip report. This reinforces my impression that if a car must be used, then EV cars are best for routine city driving, ICE for everything else.
I use a VW Touran 1,6 diesel. I bought it 5 years ago used 5 years old. I have never had any problem with it. Just oil change every year, tires, normal staff common for electric and combustion car. It is my first diesel and I love it. Before I had Nissan and Toyota hybrid. It has a parking heater which is great in winter, I use 6 l/100 km during the journey with max speed around 150 - 160 km and I have room for 5 person and a lot of wheels… Any big electric car in my situation would be crazy but I use it occasionally for Holidays and to drive with my kids, every other city journey I do with my euc. What I want to say is that electric car is great as a second car or only one if you live in the city and do not have kids. In other situations combustion car and especially modern diesel is the best option. Concerning Poland where we have coil power plants and Germany with a gas one, diesel is better for environment. My second car is funny VW up, it use the same amount of gasoline as bigger touran, very simple, nice city car but this one maybe I would change for electric one. Otherwise German friends please do what you do best - combustion cars, reliable, and thought through.
Internal combustion engines have zero torque at 0 rpm and you would also need a gearbox for higher speeds. The response time would also be a problem with balancing. Even if those problems could be solved the wheel would end up being much heavier
I've seen a vid of a petrol euc, sketchy design but it easy could be changed to petrol to Generater to battery to euc no worries. Not sure what's funny about it. It would run as smooth as they do now. There's a channel of a man making fist sized v8. A micro v2 would be easy enough I expect, integrated Gen. Tho horizontal opposed pistons put out maybe twice the hp, but we all love v2 sound so yaye for noise ha. Being able to don't mean it's the best idea tho. A real v2 gas electric euc? The v2 sound and real vibration, tell me you don't feel drool coming on.

What I don't understand about EV's is why do you need an app to charge your car. I may have an app to collect points for ICE, but I just need some money to "charge" my ICE.
I have heard that in the UK after pressure from EV groups the gov legislated to force charging networks to include tap and go. Other countries gov need to do this and also cap price.
You need an account with a particular charging network in order use their charging stations. The app is your way of activating the charging station you intend to use, and to pay for the charge when you are done charging. Certain charging stations allow you to use a card with and RFID chip... tap the charging station with your card, fill up and leave... never opening the app at all. Of course, if you charge at home, you never need an app. And there are numerous charging stations around that are free (there are three within ten kilometres of my house). EVs are not for everyone... they really only suite the driving habits of around 80% of the road users. I always charge at home using a combination of solar and off-peak power, so 500 km costs me around AU$5.00 If I wasn't able to charge at home, I would not have bought an EV.

Air drag is proportional to the square of the speed. So if you go 120 instead of 100 drag is 44% more. If you go 140 then drag is almost double at 96% more. The Mokka is a brick with a small battery so not the best for long trips. Had similar experience in Czech. Pity loverly country.

Die Stirn Fläche eines SUV ist sehr groß und der Cw-Wert ist durch die hohe Position viel schlechter als bei Standard PKWs. Hier in Deutschland muss man die Aerodynamik mit Abtrieb planen da sonst die Autos bei 250 km/h fliegen würden. Der Abtrieb erhöht natürlich den Luftwiderstand 🤣 und drückt den PKW Richtung Straße. Habe vor langer Zeit einen PPL-C gemacht, da musste man das alles lernen. Beim Segelfliegen merkt man den Luftwiderstand extrem und nutzt ihn zu seinem Vorteil.

Although you mention the railway as an alternative I don't know how feasible that would be through the whole of Europe? So if we sum up everything - combustion cars are much more “eco” than ev. EV do no gases here at the moment, but has much worse affection on nature than “regular” cars. Even one question to ChatGPT nowadays waste a lot of water, so at this point of time it is not okay to be so strict in your opinion to things, everything is really complex

In Deutschland ist es verboten EUC zu fahren, wegen der Versicherung. Aber schieben darfst du es überall 🤣. Es ist sehr verwirrend was erlaubt ist und was oder wo nicht.
