Railfanning San Bernardino Depot FT, CSX 7777 Dash-8, Geo Train, NS, & More! 7/18/2023

- Today I went to San Bernardino Depot for a session of railfanning. I got extremely lucky with the Union Pacific today, catching 5 total UP trains on BNSF tracks. I'm lucky if I can get 1 or 2 usually with a full day's effort. Usually, in the cajon pass, UP trains using the BNSF Cajon Subdivision (except streeter tie-downs and Mira Loma bound trains) will cross over to the UP's Palmdale Cutoff if capacity permits. None of the UP trains did so, resulting in me getting all 3 scheduled intermodals, as well as two manifests one of which was the first ever run of a brand new train, the MYRMC, which also had a CSX C40-8W on it. On BNSF, I saw some NS (both leading and trailing), a geometry inspection train and some warbonnets. On Metrolink, SCAX 868 showed up. Thanks for watching!

Awesome catches! Glad you caught CSX 7777 before it wound up back into storage (Currently stored at Cumberland, MD).
That is sad. Being on the west coast those CSX's were really the only Dash-8s we can get. I actually caught it a second time at the same spot in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching!
@@PasadenaSubColin sadly all of the CSX Dash 8s were stored by End of March 2024, however 3 were reactivated very briefly last month, with the last one of those entering storage again a couple days ago
That's a shame. Hope some come back eventually
