    The code is wrong in the video. Apparently it's evrc50-2 ...
    Also regarding the chain. Just before it came off I went over a few potholes. Fiido recommend you don't pedal whilst going over major bumps and that should prevent it coming off. I did go over other pot holes and the chain stayed on.

      @@TheSpecialCostumeShop ebikes don't require insurance. Mopeds depend on the model of moped. In restricted mode this bike is an ebike. Unrestricted you'd have to get modifications such as indicators/turn signals in order to get it classified as a moped.

      Legally, if you have the option to select "unrestricted" from the bikes controller, it is an unrestricted e-bike. Claiming that option is only for use on private property will have the judge falling out of their chair laughing at that nonsense.
      It's all very fine until you hit me or my property or anyone connected with me or their property and I make it my mission to sue you for everything you've got because you haven't got insurance.
      That is the reality of using an e-bike with unrestricted capabilities.

      @@e-VRC I just bought a 50cc moped that's been de-restricted (41mph top speed) and the insurance was £403.25 a year for 2 riders. I am retiring my diy bike and will be riding something road legal from now on 😂. Somehow it's legal to derestrict a moped but when you do it to an ebike the government act like you've strapped a jet engine onto your bicycle.

    Great review as usual! Certainly a car replacer. Not too heavy for such an ebike. I look forward to your longer term use and testing of this.
    Using a key is okay for security but an alarm would have been great to be a deterrent, especially if you are quickly nipping to a shop. quickly.
    I currently have an Eskuta SX-250 and with that the best way to use the central kickstand is to stand by your bike, holding both sides of the handlebar, put your foot down on the stand so it touches the floor... Depending on the grip of the surface the kickstand will grip to the floor allowing you to pull the bike back so it's on it's stand. If the surface is slippy, like tile or polished concrete then you can use your foot when you push the stand down, put your behind the stand, which you'd let you pull the bike back on to the stand.

    • @e-VRC
      @e-VRC  4 місяці тому +2

      Cheers. I had a go with the kick stand thing - also from my experience with an sx250. It's doable but took a fraction longer. Useful if you don't want to lift it though. I LOVED the immobilizer on the Eskuta. Pulling up to a shop and just tapping the button and walking in was brilliant.

    What is the practical use of a 'keyed' ebike? You think the motor not turning on will prevent someone from taking it? Keyed motorbikes work because a locked motorbike is to heavy to quickly throw in the back of a van. But even motorbikes will need additional locks if you're leaving it unattended.
    I ride round with a thick chainlink lock on my ebike, I lock my bike like I would lock any other bike and I don't even care about leaving my controller/motor on when I enter the supermarket. Not like someone would get on it and ride away with it, right.. only thing I could imagine is some smart kiddo being bored and trying to mess with my settings, but rather then a key I would sooner install a hidden power switch no chance to lose or forget the key.

    • @e-VRC
      @e-VRC  5 днів тому +1

      Hidden power switch sounds cool or basically an old style immobilizer but yeah mainly because of the kids messing with it during the day if you leave it with the battery. Some bikes don't have removable batteries. Some kid could just rev it for ages if they wanted to. I had the Eskuta sx250 which locked the wheels when on and it was heavy so if you were just popping into a shop you could just pull up outside and leave it there it was amazing but yeah if I was at work I'd still lock it up but the convenience is massive. Imagine maybe for a delivery rider.

    • @MarvinWestmaas
      @MarvinWestmaas 4 дні тому

      @@e-VRC There is so much theft currently of decent ebikes, I just wouldn't dare it convenience or not.
      The least I would take is both an electronic circuit braking thing ( like a key or hidden button, don't really care ) AND or in combination with a steering lock.
      The hidden button can also be needing a combination of brake and holding a key to turn it on, just as long as it's not predictable so user configurable.
      Then, if you have a really heavy bike, it might be worth it over an u-lock for deliveries since you should be able to mount those an a delivery bike and they are quicker as a fidgety chain lock.
      You really do need a good weight and a good steering lock if you want to rely on those even for short convenience stops at the grocery store. At least here, I seen to many bikes get stolen especially nice one's in plain broad daylight even.

    Is this bike technically legal in the UK when the speed limit is locked at 15.5 miles per hour? What about the 750 watt rear wheel drive motor, would that make it not legal to ride on public roads?

    • @e-VRC
      @e-VRC  4 місяці тому +2

      The way I see it is that the law makers don't really understand how motors and power work. Even the wording in the gov website is wrong. Therefore I see it like mopeds and 125 motorbikes. They can all be derestricted to be faster than they're legally allowed once riders have the relevant licence. Therefore if the speed is locked down on en ebike I see it as a similar story. Now someone may come along and say the law is the law and it's not up to me and they would be right. But if the law were followed to the letter there wouldn't be any legal ebikes. Therefore they can't confiscate all the ebikes on the road so they could concentrate on the riders who are riding irresponsibly on blatantly illegal ebikes.

      The Coswheel looks cool and very futuristic. Specs look about the same so it's a case of which you like the look of and then deciding if the extra abilities of the T2 are worth putting up with the extra size and weight when using normally. Weight isn't really an issue when riding but it's definitely going to be tougher to maneuver by hand. It may be that you end up utilising the abilities a lot more because you can. I can't see the price of the M20 as it's not loading but the T2 is great value.

      Wrong. They claimed responsibility for a fault in one particular model. That's admirable of them and would of cost a fortune. A generic Chinese manufacturer wouldn't of done such a thing. They would leave you with junk whereas fiido gave customers a whole new bike replacement. It's a good company. Even when it comes to buying spare parts, the option is there - making the longevity of your ebike much more if it ever does have a fault in years to come

    I'm always interested in new tech like this. It's even more enjoyable when I search it in UA-cam then find you have a review on it. Thanks awesome as always

      Hey that was you in the van? 😂👍👍 I have an FB marketplace link in the description I only usually sell one at a time. It's the Onesport OT16-2 at the moment from a couple videos back.
