Johnny Millenium dropping in on my favourite UK gaming channel. Well that certainly calls for (yet) another beer to be opened, he said as he took out another ice cold one. Cheers!
Fun fact, both PC Engine CD Puyo Puyo games have a very special exclusive voice actress for the main character Arle. Kitono Mitsuishi voiced her, you might know her as the voice actress for Sailor Moon in Japan.
I’ve actually really enjoyed every game I played for the system. However, it is one of the only consoles I never really collected anything for. Nice video!
Thanks for the video with all the information on the system. I bought a base system back in the 90’s and a few games. Later in the 90’s when the company went out of business a local game store was selling base turbo graft systems for $5 and games for $1. I bought 4 used base systems and a lot of the games. NEC Technologies was 20 minutes from where I lived and I used to go there and play games before they were released in return for filling out a survey giving an opinion about the game I played. . One time they even gave me my favorite game for the system, Neutopia II. I still have the game factory sealed in the box. They also gave me some promotional material which consisted of 5 by 7 inch cards which had the artwork of the box of the game and a written description of the game. I still have these cards too. It is interesting to find out now that some of the games are worth over $100 now because I remember seeing those turbo graft game cards for $1 in used game bins at small game stores in the 90’s. Back then you could also buy a converter that attached to the Turbo Grafx that played PC Engine games. I bought a lot of those too for $1 back in the late 90’s at small game stores with used games...
Great collection. That Devil crush looking game is called Necromancer. I highly suggest investing in a label maker so that you can add English titles on the label end of the Cd boxes. I do this with all my Asian games across all systems.
@@RetroBreak I have ordered Operation Wolf loose HuCard, and will pickup Street Fighter Championship (I already have the Avenue Pad 6, 6 button control pad). I have also ordered a Turbo Everdrive from Stone Age Gamer but I still intend to collect my favourite games on original. I have always been curious about the PC Engine, since seeing it in C&VG magazine back in the day. Like many people, I had a Master System, Megadrive, SNES etc but always wanted to play the PC Engine but never knew anyone who owned one. Finally, after all of these years I will have one...I can't wait :) Do you collect for Neo Geo at all? That's another system that I wanted to own back in the day, but all I could do was dream. I managed to buy an AES around 15 years ago, and have 15 or so games but that system is now no longer affordable to collect for. Around a year ago, I picked up a Neo Geo MVS 4 slot arcade cab. I have around 60 games for that, which is much more affordable and I absolutely love it.
Excellent video, I strongly encourage you to try out the fan translation of Ys IV, well worth it! Sadly the system was never released in Australia and I eventually invested in one a few years back. My best retro gaming investment bar none
If you have a look in my playlists in the “Game Events / Shopping Videos” and scroll down there’s a few from Japan! The shops there are amazing. Definitely check out the Akihabara and Nakano Broadway videos they show all the best game shops I found :)
Very cool collection. Love the pcengine :) do you have a Video about your other pc engine consoles? Cant stop buying engine consoles and games. Its so much fun.
cool I will watch it when its online. I just need the first cd rom then I have enough cd rom systems to make a video about all of them. would like to make a guide. specialy about the system cards.
Cracking collection of games, with a fair amount of shooters, which is nice to see. It's a shame that PC Engine games have gone up so much in price these days :(
Ninja Spirit, Bloody Wolf, Soldier Blade, Aero Blasters, After Burner II, Out Run, Mizubaku Daibouken (Liquid Kids), Parasol Stars, Rainbow Islands, Gate of Thunder, Lords Of Thunder, Cadash, New Adventure Island, Serei Senshi Spriggan, Mugen Senshi Valis, Legendary Axe, Legendary Axe II, Son Son II, Momotarou Katsugeki, Shock Man, Aoi Blink, Dragon Egg, Makai Prince Dorabocchan, Doraemon Nobita no No Dorabian Night CD, Metal Stoker, Castlevania Rondo of Blood, Shadow of The Beast, Dungeon Explorer I & II, Legend Of Hero Tonma, Dynastic Hero (Wonderboy), Gradius, Gradius II, Salamander (Life Force), Dragon's Curse, Splatterhouse... and many more!
Awesome collection. The PC Engine is my favourite console of all time without a doubt and the Y's series is my all time favourite rpg series. I'm actually going to Japan in March so will be definitely looking out for more PCE games. I did a video a while back showing my PCE collection.. feel free to check it out. 🙂
That’s awesome! You’ll love looking for PCE games in Japan! I spent hours in the game shops flicking through the PCE games! You can also find loads of loose HU cards there even cheaper :) check out my Japan shopping videos if you haven’t already, I go through quite a lot of PCE games in them! :)
I did consider it but I have the Retro Freak now to play all regions of HU cards in HD and the POLYMEGA is out soon which will play all CD games in HD as well so I think I’m fine with keeping the Duo as is :)
I get really tired of having to correct people about the turbo. It is not only an eight bit system. I had a dual 16 bit graphic chips. Though the CPU is a bit it was twice as fast is the super Nintendo CPU. But I had a 21 bit address bus where is the super Nintendo and the Genesis only had a 16 bit one. It also came out three years before the Genesis in the super Nintendo. That combined with at superior color palette made it on par with those two systems. When all the specifications are taken into account all three systems are about equal in power. Was rarely push to its limit. Games like Air zonk and Street fighter two champion edition sure what the Hugh card format could do. Don't even get me started that it was the first system with a CD drive! Stop saying it was only a bit. It was every bit as powerful as the other two
Thank you for clarifying. I never really looked into the specs too much just know it was a mix of 8 and 16 bit and presumed it was generally less powerful than the SNES / Megadrive
Still need to find a Duo RX for a good price but I managed to get a good stack of games from Japan a while back. They sit, biding their time. Still more to hunt down, but hoping to nab more and hopefully a console on the next trip out there.
Whats the point in buying these games when you can get them free through emulation?with all the graphical and performance buffs you get through emulation aswell its a no brainer.
Thank you! and I agree with Turbo Grafx/Turbo Duo is awesome!
No, thank you for having such a great channel :) it really is a great system but most of the games I want to get now are very expensive! :(

Nice collection. I’ve been building my PCE/TG16 for awhile now, and I really do agree that it’s very overlooked and under-appreciated.
That's so cool that you and HappyConsoleGamer watch each other's channels!
That Turbostick is SWEET!
AWESOME COLLECTION!
I’ve actually really enjoyed every game I played for the system. However, it is one of the only consoles I never really collected anything for. Nice video!
It is such a fun system and great to collect for as well! There’s still quite a lot of the PC Engine games that are fairly cheap!

Blazing Lazers aka Gunhed is a awesome shooter. Beautiful collection
I love it! It’s the first shooter I played on the system and still one of my faves :D
@@RetroBreak That's great man. PC Engine CD is so underrated. Great for us shooter & rpg lovers
Thanks for the information! I have purchased a Duo-R and can't wait for it to arrive :)
That’s great! Hope you enjoy it! Which games are you going to get?

adilator check out the Book Off and Hard Off stores. They have great selections for low prices
Awesome mate, cheers.
Never heard of a turbo grafx! probably to young, the N64 and the PS1 was the consoles to have when I was younger.
Fish Saviour I think it came out in 1989 so maybe a bit before your time :) definitely worth going back to though it’s held up very well!
Very cool collection. Love the pcengine :) do you have a Video about your other pc engine consoles? Cant stop buying engine consoles and games. Its so much fun.
Thanks :) glad you enjoyed! No I haven’t done a video about the different PCE consoles but I would like to one day!

That PCE Turbo Duo is so tasty. Really planning on picking one up soon...
Hope you manage to get one soon! You won’t regret it! :)
Let's Play Retro Games! Just scared at the prospect of all the money I’ll burn on games to build my collection once I do! :)
Haha just think of it as an investment ;)

GREAT Video....As Always!!!!....Do you still have Valas 3 for sale??

No worries...Thanks anyways....:)
Did you end up selling that valis iii lol
Any neo-geo?
I only have the Neo Geo Pocket. the console is just too expensive to collect for :( Maybe one day! There's so many great games for it!
