Thank you Erin, I am a 66 yr old woman who lost my leg two years ago due to diabetes. I have been left with constant nerve pain. I have tried to use my prosthetic leg but it’s very uncomfortable. You have been encouraging more than you know. It’s hard at my age to learn to walk again due to low muscle tone. My physical shape has not been good for almost 4 years. i just started watching your videos and i am a shamed of myself. losing my husband last year and my dog six months later and me acting like its the end of my life as I knew it and being mad at everyone that is happy while i am so sad. watching your videos made me realize what a idiot i am feeling sorry for myself. i watch your video and how positive you are and yes i suffered two devastating losses but i can walk, i can dress myself, drive , feed myself. your video helped me to start enjoying what i do have and what i can do. you did that. all the time i have spent in therapy did nothing. you young lady are a beautiful and strong lady. you are so positive. i wish that they knew how to heal spinal injury. I do hope you write a book about your story. i will continue to follow you on your journey .

I am pretty much in the same boat as you, except my husband passed suddenly 6 1/2 yrs. ago, and I was 51 , we were married 25 yrs. I still have that chip on my shoulder being envious of everyone that has a significant other, basically making myself miserable…. Poor me, right? Shame on me, is all I can say after discovering this amazing young lady and listening to her talk, positive things. I really haven’t taken the first step to bring myself to a better place. Don’t be so hard on your self. Don’t feel bad for having feelings. Her accident and what happened to her is so horrible and sad. Your pain may be different but it’s still pain. Please don’t feel bad for mourning the loss of your husband and dog. A loss is a loss. I’ll pray for all. I myself use to feel bad for complaining about the pain I deal with 24/7 due to a bad hip surgery and then a car accident. It put me into a depression but with meds I’m doing better. Any limitation is bad, some have it worse than others. ❤
I am so sorry that doctor was so negative toward you & your pregnancy! They were SO wrong! You would be an amazing mother but even if you don't become a mother by a physical birth, I see you birthing growth and transformation on a grander scale in others. I became a paraplegic at age 63, and I'm 68 now. In these past years I have dealt with all those feelings, still do, but never have I been able to articulate them as you do. I recently began working with a therapist and I'm learning to verbalize my feeling, wants and needs. You are a huge gift, and I thank and bless you. You are an incredibly powerful woman. I have had a flu like illness that has lasted over a week now. I turned 70 and the realization has been quite a shock. I don’t feel much older than 40 in my mind but my body has been mean to me lately. Listening to you has given me a nice big kick in the rear. I am grateful to be 70. Realize that some things that used to “bounce off of me” tend to linger longer. My struggles will resolve and it is up to me to get the right mind set. YOU have taught me that. Thank you. I also know that we are living in an era that can offer scientific resolution to so many things. I pray one of those will be of benefit to you. We have a loving God. What a beautiful person you are!! I am a nurse who has so many times been on the receiving end of the anger you talked about! I personally never took it to heart! I know that need to have control of our lives is hard for a person who is fully functional and can care of herself. Then to be plunged into not being able to have any control of anything! It would be so scary! I have always tried to put myself in the patient's place! Why would they be so angry? How can I help them in their day-to-day life? I try to remember where the anger may stem from! Usually, as a nurse, my tears come from feeling the need to make a difference in their life and how can I ease their pain! I try to put myself in their shoes! I know I can never at that moment be in their place of pain! I'm a gentle caring nurse! "I've had a patient who was so angry he was screaming at me that I could only make him happy if I gave him steak and lobster! This man because of what was going on with him could not eat for quite a long time! It was very uncomfortable for him! So on my break, I could not get him off my mind! So as I was sitting there I asked God to help me, please! I saw a magazine sitting next to me and somewhere in this magazine, I saw an advertisement for a lobster crawling up a hill where a man was standing! I cut this out of the magazine and then I found a steak with butter melting off of it... I made a poster with these two things steak and lobster... I went out to his room and taped my poster with the steak and lobster on it...I told him I got what he asked for so please be nice to me!! Then I slowly turned his iv pole around so he could see it... it brought a big smile to his face!! For days this man talked about this nurse who cared enough to get the steak and lobster he asked for!! Sometimes it is the little things that count! I guess what I want to say is I think the tears are more for feeling sorry they can not make enough of a difference for you!! Not for themselves!! The one thing I want to say is please be so careful and do all the turns and dressing changes on the sore as is asked by the doctors!! The last thing you want is for the bacteria to hit your bloodstream!! Sepsis is nothing to mess with! You are a beautiful person! So far as I can hear you have answered questions I have... what it felt like... I've asked many people who have died what they remember I get some interesting responses! Hugs to you!!

It seems that those people that told you no, are bound to their bodies and are hold down by that in thought and deed. But with you not being bound to your body, you are able to see more and having freer thoughts to figure out a way.
Please do not let doctors tell you that you can never be a Mom. Because you can. And do not let anyone including doctors tell you that you cannot do something. Only you know what you are capable of doing. I envy you. I wish I had family members that thought positive of me instead of telling me I am not capable of living on my own and how I can never take care of myself. And you know I always prove them wrong in the end. I will never set limits for myself. You are truly amazing young lady you are so strong and you have a good heart and a positive outlook on life. I am so happy I got a notification about everything you been through I truly truly needed you and hearing everything you have shared with me and everyone else. You deserve the very best in Life. Don't give up on being a mother and having children. I honestly believe that you can. Keep thinking positive and keep trying new things. Whatever makes you happy is all that really matters in Life. I had a spinal injury a few yrs back, one that could have left me very debilitated, but fortunately for me, was treated in enough time that the longterm issues were relatively minimal to what they could have been. That said, I complain a lot, have little pity parties almost weekly🥳, and get so frustrated that I can't work, so have to live on a small income. The word limitation hit me hard here listening to you. Much of my limitations are decided in my own head before my physical limits are even taken into consideration. I'm often defeatist and negative.. I hadn't even noticed my mindset had become that way.. Thank you for sharing all you do, past present n future, ups n downs, and the roller-coaster of every emotion and experience in between.. Thank you for your honesty about limitations. I have experienced limitations for the past 3 years due to Covid safety protocols that my family has chosen to live under. I don’t disagree with all of them but some are not necessary. I grieved the loss of my freedom for the first couple of years and fighting depression but lately I have tried to work within the boundaries I have to live a fuller life.

I hadn’t listened to your whole message when I wrote my last message so sorry for bombarding you with these messages. Under different circumstances I had the same experience with my one and only pregnancy. I was in my mid 30’s and was married to a man who was not supportive of my pregnancy. (He never said it but I felt it in every comment he would make.) Our marriage would end due to adultery on his behalf a few years later. Broke my heart. But led me to the wonderful man I am married to now. I am so happy to know that you have a husband who honors and loves you. You are very insightful and motivating. A very special person! ❤️

Of course you can be a mom!! I’m so sorry you had to deal with an uncompassionate physician. There are many, but equally a number of those who can see outside the norm and know that love is the basis for life.
When you say those words out loud; what do they make you sense or feel? They eventually felt true for me when I allowed myself the trust and hope for that to be my truth ❤️ I’ve come to terms with having no control over what will happen to me, but I grasped on to my power and ability to deal with much of the challenges in a way that builds me up and helps me smile, love, laugh and thrive more often 💖 I wish that for you 🤍✨

I love your videos because you brought back so many wonderful and hard memories of my dearest friend who was also a quadruple. He was 17 when he had his accident. Like you he was mad at the world. He was kicked out of several faculties until he came to the one I was worked. I'm not sure if it was my approach or my bossy aditude maybe it was the commendation of both. Since we became best friends. Unfortunately he passed away many years ago from complications. I can say this he has an amazing life through the good and bad. Hugs

I’ve been through 7 miscarriages and doctors and nurses really need to be more mindful of their words. That’s terrible. Bless your beautiful heart. On another topic, that facility you went to at aged 21 looked amazing. Does it still exist? If so what are the restrictions holding you from returning? Is it cost? Insurance? Etc? I’m just thinking that if it is financial possibly your UA-cam family and friends could help? :)

I have had a flu like illness that has lasted over a week now. I turned 70 and the realization has been quite a shock. I don’t feel much older than 40 in my mind but my body has been mean to me lately. Listening to you has given me a nice big kick in the rear. I am grateful to be 70. Realize that some things that used to “bounce off of me” tend to linger longer. My struggles will resolve and it is up to me to get the right mind set. YOU have taught me that. Thank you. What a beautiful person you are!! I am a nurse who has so many times been on the receiving end of the anger you talked about! I personally never took it to heart! I know that need to have control of our lives is hard for a person who is fully functional and can care of herself. Then to be plunged into not being able to have any control of anything! It would be so scary! I have always tried to put myself in the patient's place! Why would they be so angry? How can I help them in their day-to-day life? I try to remember where the anger may stem from! Usually, as a nurse, my tears come from feeling the need to make a difference in their life and how can I ease their pain! I try to put myself in their shoes! I know I can never at that moment be in their place of pain! I'm a gentle caring nurse!
"I've had a patient who was so angry he was screaming at me that I could only make him happy if I gave him steak and lobster! This man because of what was going on with him could not eat for quite a long time! It was very uncomfortable for him! So on my break, I could not get him off my mind! So as I was sitting there I asked God to help me, please! I saw a magazine sitting next to me and somewhere in this magazine, I saw an advertisement for a lobster crawling up a hill where a man was standing! I cut this out of the magazine and then I found a steak with butter melting off of it... I made a poster with these two things steak and lobster... I went out to his room and taped my poster with the steak and lobster on it...I told him I got what he asked for so please be nice to me!! Then I slowly turned his iv pole around so he could see it... it brought a big smile to his face!! For days this man talked about this nurse who cared enough to get the steak and lobster he asked for!! Sometimes it is the little things that count!
I guess what I want to say is I think the tears are more for feeling sorry they can not make enough of a difference for you!! Not for themselves!!
The one thing I want to say is please be so careful and do all the turns and dressing changes on the sore as is asked by the doctors!! The last thing you want is for the bacteria to hit your bloodstream!! Sepsis is nothing to mess with!
You are a beautiful person! So far as I can hear you have answered questions I have... what it felt like... I've asked many people who have died what they remember I get some interesting responses!

Please do not let doctors tell you that you can never be a Mom. Because you can. And do not let anyone including doctors tell you that you cannot do something. Only you know what you are capable of doing. I envy you. I wish I had family members that thought positive of me instead of telling me I am not capable of living on my own and how I can never take care of myself. And you know I always prove them wrong in the end. I will never set limits for myself.
You are truly amazing young lady you are so strong and you have a good heart and a positive outlook on life. You're fantastic Eirin.. I had a spinal injury a few yrs back, one that could have left me very debilitated, but fortunately for me, was treated in enough time that the longterm issues were relatively minimal to what they could have been. That said, I complain a lot, have little pity parties almost weekly🥳, and get so frustrated that I can't work, so have to live on a small income. The word limitation hit me hard here listening to you. Much of my limitations are decided in my own head before my physical limits are even taken into consideration. I'm often defeatist and negative.. I hadn't even noticed my mindset had become that way.. Thank you for sharing all you do, past present n future, ups n downs, and the roller-coaster of every emotion and experience in between.. Thank you for your honesty about limitations. I have experienced limitations for the past 3 years due to Covid safety protocols that my family has chosen to live under. I don’t disagree with all of them but some are not necessary. I grieved the loss of my freedom for the first couple of years and fighting depression but lately I have tried to work within the boundaries I have to live a fuller life.

Under different circumstances I had the same experience with my one and only pregnancy. I was in my mid 30’s and was married to a man who was not supportive of my pregnancy. (He never said it but I felt it in every comment he would make.) Our marriage would end due to adultery on his behalf a few years later. Broke my heart. But led me to the wonderful man I am married to now. I am so happy to know that you have a husband who honors and loves you. You are very insightful and motivating. A very special person! ❤️

I love your videos because you brought back so many wonderful and hard memories of my dearest friend who was also a quadruple. He was 17 when he had his accident. Like you he was mad at the world. He was kicked out of several faculties until he came to the one I was worked. I'm not sure if it was my approach or my bossy aditude maybe it was the commendation of both. Since we became best friends. Unfortunately he passed away many years ago from complications. I can say this he has an amazing life through the good and bad. Hugs

I’ve been through 7 miscarriages and doctors and nurses really need to be more mindful of their words. That’s terrible. Bless your beautiful heart.
