Happy Easter everyone!! Im not crying, you're crying. Here is a mini-movie I made to commemorate Jordy Nelsons career as a football player. He was everything great about a Green Bay Packer, on and off the field. Personally one of my favorite players of all day. This guy NEVER gave up, no matter the task. From walking on at college as a safety, to being 5th on the Packers depth chart, and then tearing his ACL and coming back to have an amazing season, so much can be said about Jordy. He's helped this team win so many games, and I hope he will retire a Packer in a couple years. Best of luck in Oakland! I hope everyone enjoys this, it took a while.
You right. I'm crying. Jordy will always be one of, if not my favorite Packer. Hearing that he was cut hit me like a train. I wish him nothing but the best in Oakland and throughout the rest of his life, but not seeing White Lightning in that green and gold will never feel right. He'll always be a Packer.
Tearing your ACL is weird. I tore mine and played basketball for about 20 more seconds to a whistle. Feels different and wrong for 2 minutes then the pain creeps in and in another 2 minutes you realize your knee is mangled.
It's random but one of my best memories of Nelson was when Mike McCarthy threw a challenge flag when he couldn't. Nelson ran onto the field, grabbed the red flag, and hid it to avoid the penalty. It just shows Nelson's complete awareness of all aspects of the game. He was an athletic freak but more than anything it was his intelligence and work ethic that made him the pro bowl quality player that he was.
AGK927 - It happened in a game against the Vikings in their week 17 match. The Packers ended up losing in OT which looking back clearly hurt their chances at a SB but it was still a very memorable play. If I remember right, it was the first year that turnovers were automatically reviewed(2012 I believe) so a lot of coaches were having trouble not throwing the challenge flag. It was a 15 yard penalty and made it where the play couldn't be reviewed. Jordy Nelson didn't change the circumstance in anyway, though. The review official had already called for the review to happen. So the Packers received a 15 yard penalty but the play was allowed to be reviewed and in this case was overturned in Packers favor.
He also had the heart of a Lion. If there are a list of idiotic moves Green Bay did, losing Jordy Nelson is close to the top. Picking Roid-boy Mandarich is #1.

I am a life long Green Bay fan. Jordy Nelson is among my 2 favorite players of all time along with Brett. He was always so much fun to watch on the field. When I was deployed on my second tour to Afghanistan I stayed up after a 48 hour mission to watch the super bowl. I wrote to the packers a month prior and they sent me a large box with tons of packer merchandise to include the Nelson Jersey I wear every single game. Great player and great man. He expressed his desire to stay in GB and if I remember right he even said he'd be willing to take a pay cut to stay in GB...
