Thank you so much for sharing your experience with creating this jacket. You don't see that many people online talking about trying new things and finding out they're ultimately not okay for them ❤

Thank you so much for this honest review! This video made laugh so much and also made my day! You speak out of my heart. How many times did i havw a super idea (i thought) and when the garment was finished, my heart sank and i almost wanted to stow my sewing machine away 😅... Please continue reporting your fails, they will encourage all of us!😊

I am in the confident beginner stage, and I still make loads of mistakes. This video helps so much! I just need to remind myself that I'm learning, not just doing a crappy job. I honest also kind of love the problem-solving that comes along with design and construction mistakes.

I have an expensive dress from Robert Graham that absolutely is a disaster, so I removed the belt and opened up the dress.
Now I hate it... the fabric is gorgeous. I'm considering making a top but that is a disappointing tog.
    Any suggestions would help.

Really enjoyed your video! Thank you for sharing this experience. I’m also a practical person. I always think about how the garment is going to work with my life style before I buy/make. I’m wondering After this kind of not right experience , what to do with the not right garment? I always struggle and don’t know what to do with them.

    Thanks for the video!
I didn't notice the holes in the collar until you mentioned them.
I made a vest and cut in upside down. So the trousers are now darker than the vest (because I used cord). Its the only time I didn't double check if the right side was up.
But anyway. I wore it to a wedding and nobody noticed it😂

I actually like the jacket, apart from the sleeves. I never feel comfortable in anything that has anything other than fitted sleeves.

I do mockups because even tho I took TWO (2) pattern making classes and I do measure I make mistakes. I use muslin/twill to work on the mockup. I’ve been making variations on a jean jacket. I’m all about putting as many pockets in my garments as I can. I hate women’s clothing as the pockets are almost always weirdly small or no existent!(I do wear mens jeans). On my second mockup for a boxy cropped jean jacket it was so cute I dyed it a pretty lilac and added buttons. It’s the perfect summer jacket for San Francisco and I wear it all the time even though I know its flaws. I’m working on another jean jacket that I’ll line but the mockups are just not working! The original heavy twill I ran out of and the discount place doesn’t have anymore (neither of them do! I tried a lightweight muslin but it doesn’t hang right.) I finally bought canvas. Tomorrow I start back at the beginning for my pattern! Sigh. I look forward to watching more of your videos!

I also wasted too many pieces of fabric, but now 99% of my projects are successful
