We're supposed to pay dude double digit mils for multiple years? No way. Play out the contact. Saints have all the leverage. If Kamara hits open market next yr (without having a good yr this season) he isn't making double digit mils per yr. Aaron Jones got 1 yr 7. Derrick Henry got 2 yr 16. Alvin hasn't run as well 3 seasons in a row. If we're going to offer anyone a new deal, it should be Paulson Adebo.
I'm a AK fan but the man hasn't done to much since brees left. Now we're gonna pay top money.
If we can get Renfrow at a minimum vet contact??
You do know that him n Carr have fire chemistry, WITHOUT a shitty coaching staff leading the way.
AK a Saint for life
No team is going to get AKs best after this. He's in it to secure his future, not competing to be the best RB1 in the league. So any team giving him a new deal is going to regret it.
We've watched numerous episodes where we're told how much better this system looks in OTA's (without Alvin). But now we're told this system will not work without Alvin? We're supposed to forget all those years when Shanahan made stars out of previouisly unknow RB's. But suddenly, this offense will fall apart without Alvin Kamara. I have absolutely no clue how it's working for other teams, that are wasting their time trying to make this system work without an Alvin Kamara or Christian McCaffery. How the heck do they manage?
I thiink other rbs can make the offense works, but AK would SHINE.
If we think about it, we already pay more than we should for jamaal williams, this is a pickle
Who in the world has said this offense looks better with Miller than it would with Kamara? The improvements being talked about have been in formations, motions, and how comfortable Carr has looked. You're just making stuff up.
Alvin Kamara never had a 1k rushing yard year. He’s not even close to CMC. Saints best option is to trade him and get draft picks vice paying top dollar for a 30yr running back
DA and Loomis really have to keep this team afloat this season and build the roster in the off-season, just not much room for attrition right now, depth behind starters is pretty thin everywhere except CB.
Pay for performance, not expectations.
I enjoy these podcasts. When I look at my list of subscribed channels there is a little dot next to the channels with new content. The problem is, you have the jordy whatever his name is show on the same channel and when I see the little dot it's usually his show/podcast that got updated instead of this one. So, I have to surf over to this channel, open up the podcast link, and open up that playlist to see if there has been an update. I suggest you make another channel and put the stuff not directly related to the Saints on that channel.
I don’t understand the walking out of practice AK was suspended last year he wasn’t available for the Green Bay game which the Saints might have won if he was there.
Blud what ? How are those two things related ? Holy Casual
What about Mickey Loomis and Alvin taking off someone said Loomis doesnt like that sort of thing? Making the team look bad. And making Dennis look bad.
No one can make Dennis Allen look worse than he makes himself look.
6 win season coming up
It would be stupid of the Saints to install this offense and not have AK on the team!!!
Put him on the PJ Williams contracts, evaluate year by year lol
The Saints have a whole lot of the same type of players.. injury-prone ,, under performers, or aging players ..
Dude gets suspended the start of last season for being a goon and holds out this year!? Deuces
Giving Kamara a better contract than Derrick Henry would be NASTY work. Give the same contract and AK should be more than happy. End of discussion.
“It’s business, not personal, Sonny” Say what you want about Belichek but he was always willing to let someone go sooner than later and it worked out pretty well for him. Not my money but I’d offer $12 million guaranteed for next year and then time to move on
Looking at these contracts in terms of average salary per year of the contract is a little bit misleading because often the salary balloons in the final year, a final year the player might never see. It makes the average look better, and maybe strokes the player's ego a bit, but that's about all it does. In AK's case you get to 15M per average year only if you include 2025, where he's set to make 22.4M in base salary and a 2M roster bonus (in addition to some other bonuses). Take that away and it's closer to 12.6M per year. You get to 15M per year by dividing the 75M total contract value by 5 years. Remove the 22.4M base and the 2M roster bonus that comes in 2025, and you get 75 - 22.4 - 2 = 50.6 / 4 = 12.65M per year if he were to get cut after the 2024 season, or at least that's what I get if I'm doing the math right.
I feel like Chase Young is either gonna go down in saints history as a bum FA whiff or a massive steal and theres no in between
AK was seen on camera kicking an already knocked out man in the head. He’s lucky the NFL still allows him to play. He ought to be humble, thankful and grateful. But instead he walks out of practice (under contract) without even telling the coach.
So what? Talk crazy get kicked in the head lol
Coming back to this episode and it's funny that Brandon called the Saints signing a CB and S @ 31:00
We know Dennis can't help himself getting more and more pass defenders.
The only thing I can see making sense is an extension giving him 10M~ guaranties in 2025 and some guaranties in 2026.
He's fear is playing 2024, getting hurt and cut in 25 (zero guaranties). That's his hand, he knows darn well he wont sign a 15M/yr contract at 30 yrs old.
OBS: it would be crazy to think about Akeler as a replacement if Kamara asks too much? Dude can catch and run
AK should realize he’s 29 and sign a 2 year 16 million dollar extension with 8 guaranteed
The Saints going 10-7 the D going to win 3 or 4 games by themselves
"If you take Alvin out of this offense I don't know how its going to work." Is why they should give him the extension.
I wouldn’t be surprised if AK played his last game with the Saints. Walking out under contract without telling the coach does not fit the Saints’ culture.
@MosheGoldbergTheKing Well, Equalizer DA got rid of two of the three team cancers so far - Cancer MT and Don’t Listen Winston. Krybaby Kamara could be next. I’ve been saying for a year now that those 3 got to go. AK just made it easy for DA.
And Lattimore is saying all the right things now, but he better watch his step.
@MosheGoldbergTheKing Those clowns sure make it easy on Equalizer DA.
Tweet against your own QB during the game - Gone
Become the only QB in NFL history to run from the Victory Formation - Gone
Walk away from mandatory practice while under contract without telling the coach - Gone?
@@pbm8264never seen a saints fan as supportive of da as you
Please guys stop mentioning MT . He is gone for good !
This was depressing and discouraging. Sounds like we are going to suck. Again.
It’s kind of a shame that RB’s are out here fighting tooth and nail for a 12m dollar bag
12 million a year. and all he has to do is carry the ball? wtf are you talking about? he blessed as fuck
he's gonna want big money, yet he aint been BIG since sean left. let him go.
Organizations have taken advantage of their position with players forever. The Saints have film. They also know they put AK in a horrible position the past few years. They know this dude is not close to losing a step. They need to meet this man where he is if he"s asking for an extension. I feel it needs to be at McCaffrey's level. AK was ahead of CC when he was with the Panthers. The only reason for AK's dip is the position the Saints put him in. In this offense. He will elevate Carr. Don't make this player unhappy. He is a catalyst to this organization even keeping Season tickets.
They are paying Carrr
WHO DAT
Kamara is STILL the best running back for the Saints. Why explore the unknown when you have a bonafied athlete on the roster? Stop playing and give the man what he want.
Too many people pocket watching. How bout you take a pay cut at work.
Kamara is BETTER THAN ALL THOSE dudes, even McCaffrey!!! They have to honor the fact that the offense was TRASH, and that's not on AK!!!
