Howdy! You should keep the bike light for your dog!!! I am a cyclist and I use them on my dog's harness... it is great for the evening, you can see him wherever he goes and vehicles can see him!!!
I was thinking, maybe you can clip the bike light on Lefty's harness when you take him for a walk at night. This way if there's any vehicle around, they can see him.
One time camping out in the Mohave Desert we came upon a brand new Suzuki RM 250 with nobody around so we went from camp to camp asking if someone was missing it and nobody said it was theirs. We ended up loading it up in one of our trucks and taking it to the Ranger Station and left it with them. A few days later they notified us that it was actually stolen out a shipping container in Long Beach and they found the crate that it was shipped in. You never know what you find out there!!
I've seen lots of still usable items in the dumpster at campgrounds. Seems that some things folks throw away just get tossed because they simply don't like it anymore. Every time I see Lefty, he makes me smile !
I found a rubber wheel chock too! And a gold panning pan, box of fishing flies, ENO hammock, Stainless steel water bottle and a functional Thermarest mattress pad (the skinny backpackers model)....apparently, we live and travel near forgetful people.
I love finding things no matter whether I'm home going on my 6 mile walks each day or whether we are traveling. Been walking for many years like this and hopefully will be able to do this till the end of time.I found a 20 dollar bill on the side of the road the other day! I find lots of tools, like wrenches, hammers, sockets, etc cell phones, a mini video cam, lots of clothes, shoes, hats, . Nothing really exciting except maybe a big box of ammunition so far. Keep on walking w/Lefty!
Good to see Bob is getting into an ambulance, even better that he's uploading a vid featuring your rig! You have a great channel that's been flying a bit under the radar for too long. Bob's upload will give the wider audience your channel deserves. I know I've learned a lot from you and in a very enjoyable way. Peace to you and give Lefty a scratch for me...
Hi David, I like the things you have found. I not the one that finds things, my brother always found it. Maybe cause he got there first. HA! HA! Anyway my best find was an almost new fishing pole, at my favorite fishing hole in the weeds. Right beside it was a tackle box full of goods. I felt bad for the person that lost it, so I stayed at the lake until dark, then camped out for 3 days waiting for them to return, but they never did. I used the fishing pole for a few years and then at the same lake I meet someone who needed a fishing pole, so I gave it to them. I figured God gave it to me, so I should pass it on. God Bless, safe roads. Russ

I have paid for laundry loads with money found in car wash vacuums, not in 1 shot though..I once found a $20,car keys and every time I stop in a new city,I just visit apartment dumpsters, plenty of still useful stuff in them, plus I get to kill time,I browse the city's trash schedule website to know what neighborhoods are not been picked that day and I go diving.

You're probably right about the shovel being brand new. The previous owners likely forgot it because they weren't used to using it. Something you use often tends to not get forgotten.

Don't know where to start since this video was filled with so much awesomeness: a beautiful picture of your daughter, Lefty, Bob Wells, fleet finds and excellent videography and sound. The fact that Bob watches your videos speaks for itself. Have you watched the movie Nomadland? You can watch it for free if you have Hulu and Bob has a small part but you will be amazed at his naturalness on camera. His small part is definitely up there with Frances McDormand. Belly rubs for Lefty...
David, another great one, and even better showing us an addition to the fleet!!! We haven't been watching much lately because we brought our "baby" home last Monday. A 2000 E-450, 7.3 Powerstroke Turbo with a Wheeled Coach box behind. Out of all the ones for sale across the country, we found this one about 10 minutes from home! I just finished watching your earlier video on your electrical systems, now that I've been poking around in ours for a bit. Our plan is to make a few short trips around here for a while, then head west sometime this fall. We'll definitely look you up when we do! :) Keep the vids coming, they're great and much valued and appreciated!! :)
@@TheCampulanceMan Brother, you said it!! That's what I've been doing for the past several days, seeing what's wired to what, what we want to keep, what controls we want to relocate to other areas and all the rest. It's making sense!

Your sock Mike ....works really well Love the fact you love collecting Stuff keeping some and handing on to others cheers from a fellow traveller in Bunbury western Australia Love ya dog x
Those finds are little treasures. I've found water containers by LLBean, Contigo, and Pathfinder (Dave Canterbury); came across a twenty dollar bill at a state park campsite and it paid for 2/3 of my campsite fee. While hiking I came across a nice Sierra Designs fleece blanket that had side zippers, probably to make a lightweight sleeping bag; found it neatly folded under a tree. BTW you did a great job filming with you new camera and the sound quality is excellent.
I haven't found much stuff that others have left behind, but I did get lucky and go back to get my own stuff and found that it was where I left it! I had left an awning roll out rod at a fly-in of the EAA in New Braunfels, Tx years ago. I went back three days later and found it still on the ground. I also left a light, part of a 20v tool set, on the side of the road, turned on. Went back a couple of hours later and there it was, still lit up! I do have an excellent memory. It's just terribly short.
Almost forgot, we do watch Bob Wells quite often and we think the ambulance is a better way to go Bob! Looking forward to his next video to see the inside of yours. 👍
First time watching. I love finding things, too! The best thing I found was a big Stihl Chain Saw. Someone had dropped it out of the back of their truck and I saw the orange handle and made my husband turn around. We kept it for a while to see if anyone posted that they lost one. Then I sold it for $600 and bought a saddle which I needed badly. We travel with our horses to horse camps and we always find things people leave behind.
I haven't really found very much of anything even when I was walking across the United States. That was kind of short and sweet with Bob oh, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you on his channel. Him and I look a little bit a like period and lastly I like that little affect that you did with it looking like it was film rolling that was pretty cool. Plus that was a pretty cool finds you found especially that shovel. Be safe out there and have a great day!
Not a nomad but on the freeway found coolers ( usually destroyed by traffic) but a few usable, aluminum ladder, fireman’s supply bag ( returned to our local station) and a big bag of dog food that didn’t break open on landing ( gave to neighbor). And a lot of broken furniture. We live in the country right off a freeway which most folks own a pick up and haul everything in back. For the ones that don’t tie down at 75mph... oh well, I guess they didn’t need it.
Hi David and Lefty. Congratulations on the interview with Bob. 👍🏻. Can’t wait to see the interview on Cheap Rv Living. Congratulations again you deserve it. Stay safe🙏🏻
Just retired and have gotten access to the money i need to buy and convert an ambulance. This has been a thought for about a year and have been researching online my options to purchase one. Found your channel about a month ago and it really helps with planning and how to do the build but , what a difference a year can make in the market. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the prices don't spike to a point where i have to settle for something less than what i really want. Great channel and thanks for all that you've shown and taught me. Hope to see you out there somewhere , sometime. Stay safe.
Thank you Larry and welcome to the channel :) Congrats on your retirement! Have fun with your search, planning,, and building. That was my favorite time :)
I'm glad your channel has grown to where it has, & so quickly. It'll probably explode with who knows what number of Bob's viewers that click on over to check it out, & that'll really be great too, in a few ways. But it's also a little bit of a loss in a way too. I for one already miss the small channel charms being one that somehow came across one of the early vids in the beginning. When there's fewer followers & people commenting, you know your message has been received & often there's a back & forth dialogue from the content creator. Really not realistic once there's tens of thousands following, & hundreds or thousands of comments.. You get lost in the crowd. I do know to grow & get as big as possible is kinda the whole point. I'm just saying there's a flip side to that coin that most would never even realize, that's all. It seemed like maybe Bob critiqued your vids and/or gave you some advise, & you got a little nervous or maybe off track with what to say.. Not that noticable, but just not your usual relaxed self either.. Don't overthink things & get drawn into the trap of doing the things that everyone else says & does to stimulate the algorithms.. You being your authentic self grew it this much that fast.. And it's not only authentic, it's unique. Nothing can compete with that. The numbers & stuff will come all by itself with less working for it in the long run.. Well that's long enough. Did the side of the road people come back at night at that recent "couple night spot" you were at, or was it quiet after the 1 night? Or did you just move a little?
No I didn't have any other visitors after that night. We spent another several days there without incident. Thanks for your comments and thoughts I appreciate that.
David..you inspire me to get my Ambo. on the road! Looking forward to seeing your interview! A few years ago I was camping in the mountains when I owned a campervan and would take my kayak along. All my good 4 ways were found laying in the grass. I have picked up 3 tire chocks and left one behind. When I was trucking I would walk laps at the truck stops and record them with My Fitness Pal. In the notes I would record the amount of change I picked up. And I got a picture of a smashed CB I came across at a Pennsylvania rest area.
Hey Dave, it’s Joe from Phoenix. I enjoyed this video. We have an a rainy day here today. Which I always love hey one thing I wanted to say is if you ever find a USB thumb drive don’t put it in your computer. I can’t think of anything I found recently as I’ve been hiking around here in Phoenix. Take care Dave. Be safe.
I just subscribe to your channel, I am interested in getting an ambulance too. I just finished my 7x14 cargo trailer camper conversion. Got a lot of my ideas from Bob and other people as well, than my head started turning towards ambulance conversions. I was like, yes I would love to get one, and Bob stated is pretty much ready to move in. But would make some minor changes of course. Great video! Thank you for sharing your findings too!
I have found; 2 iPhones (returned to owners), a new in the box Garmin GPS, a pocket knife, several tools and a new 5 gallon bucket of hydraulic fluid (looked like it fell off a truck and slid across the road).
Wow! You could start a thrift store!! Thank you for the comment with your finds! I found a blackberry (years ago) at DFW Airport- emailed someone from his mail list, got his contact info and called him I FedEx'd it to him on my dime which made me feel great!! :)

I can’t think of anything I found recently as I’ve been hiking around here in Phoenix. Take care Dave. Be safe.
Good tip. I'd never plug one in if I found it... That's just asking for trouble.
Love your puppy 💜 very cool camper van set-up!
Thanks for watching Charles
1st time viewer from CT looking for tips on traveling out west. Thank s for your vides
I was already a subscriber of both yours and Bob's channels. Great to see your posts and looking forward to Bob's new vehicle too.

Keep in mind your heavy ...and if your off on "firm ground" any rain can turn your formerly solid ground into "soft and slimey" look up Winder Towing channel. He's in southern Utah and you will learn a TON from his work there.
I watch Matt's videos! I saw his yellow banana in Hurricane last year!
Dave, I’d appreciate knowing which camera you bought. Thanks. All the best.
Cool channel! See ya soon!
That bicycle light would be great on your dogs collar for night time.

When we go camping all 7 the dogs have lights , different lights on different dogs so you know who is who
