Yup know exactly how you feel. We were out, got home and couldn't find my phone. Had Jack call my phone in the house then went out to the car. Found it. Cargo pants. What was your original destination? The store? Did you check the store? I would think the keys would more likely drop when you were vertical?
1. Gravity wins again. 2. Learn to sew. 3. Get 2 carabiners on a climbing quickdraw, which is basically a strap with a carabiner at each end. Keys on key rings on one carabiner in pocket. Other carabiner on belt loop or belt. Even if you do somehow break everything else and drop it, it makes it extremely easy to search for. Mine are Metolius FS Mini, but there are many great climbing carabiners, including ones locking shut.

You can find these floating key chains at boat supplies stores, They are meant to float if dropped on your boat and they are bright orange for visibility. Soft sponge or hard plastic floats. " Riverruns Floating Key Ring Glow in Dark"

David, as I was watching this video and you mentioned that you'd lost your keys and, as you said that, I reached for the necklace pendant that I JUST bought like a week ago, but the clasp on the necklace was kind of loose, so I was worried that I was going to lose the pendant when the clasp opened, and sure enough, when I went to touch it, it was gone! OH NO!! So, I immediately paused your video, got into my car and started retracing my recent steps. Thankfully I found the pendant in the driveway of the last stop I had made today. OHMYGOSH! What luck!! Maybe I should also buy a lottery ticket because I was sure that I was never going to see that pendant again. So, keep looking for those keys. You just never know. And, Good luck!
I wonder if there's a beeping sound you can install on your keys with your Bluetooth on your phone and push the button when the keys are accidentally misplaced. Just like losing a remote. Dish network has a set up you push if a remote gets lost. I wonder if you can find something similar for your keys. I know how you feel Dave. No fun! There are key makers at Walmart or Home Depot. A stainless-steel D clip on to your jeans is also an idea. :)
Losing your keys I know how that feels. When I thought I lost my keys when I was living out at my childhood home in a small town. I thought I lost them outside because I was doing yard work I looked all over their property and come to find out they were on a end table the whole time. I would recommend calling the police department or the town hall. To see if they have any keys turned in recently.

I temporarily lost my car keys close to the trailhead of blm when riding my off-road motorcycle. I drove up and down the trail for a half an hour. I barely noticed them as they were half buried in the dirt and it was getting dark. I lucked out they were my only set. I have a small backpack for riding, and always put them in the backpack pocket now. Lesson learned.

I’m the same way David. I’ll start to panic. Check all my pants pockets two or three times but I finally come to realize I never lose anything. I just misplaced it for a long time it eventually surface. I just recently found something I’ve been looking for since I moved into my apartment in January 2020 and just found it last week. It was a key piece to the digital deadbolt that I have connects the outside part of the inside part of the mechanism good thing I didn’t throw the other two parts away
my set to my wifes car was gone for a year, looked into replacement-too pricey, they showed up in the travel bag pocket i had checked many times, i found them by pulling everything out ! I totally understand

Theyll show up in a couple days in the most unusual place. Lost my sunglasses for a week found them in my fav sweatshirt i had stopped wearing a week earlier cause the weather warmed up!
I lost my house keys at the park. Didn't know until I was home and couldn't get in. Went back to the park and found them in the parking lot. Didn't have duplicates at the time. I now have multiple sets.
My son lost the keys to the van and once we started pushing the car into the driveway there they were. A weird bounce 🤷🏼♀️ must have popped them up on the wheel hub. It’s funny now but at 1 am in the pouring rain how does your child lose the keys opening the gate in the driveway! ?
I wonder if Quartzsite has a lost and found, maybe at the police station or town hall. I hiked up a mountain once, about 1300 feet and realized I didn't have my phone when I got back down to my truck. So hiked up again and of course it was right at the top of the mountain! I slept really well that night! lol

I lost the diamond out of my ring at the hollbrook arz truck after it was black topped and it was night but with a flashlight I found it. Glad it was a 2 caret marquee or I couldn't have found it. I lose so many keys that it drive’s me crazy this last week I had to stay in the hospital for a few day’s so I put two padlock’s on my back door on the outside got ready to leave couldn’t find the four keys to the padlock’s so I put my drill under my truck seat locked the doors and when I got home I got the drill to take the locks off I still haven’t gotten over that and still have no idea where I put the keys shit just never stop’s 🤷♀️
I try to think of all scenarios, maybe the hole in the pocket wasn't as big at first. All the josling on the dirt roads with the keys weight made it bigger. So they may have fell out when you were on the main road or closer to your destination. Or wherever you straightened your leg to hold bike up, with it running, easy to not hear. And I would contact the store you went to, to see if anyone turned in keys too. Check entry off road to store?
I had my wallet ontop of my car as the gas pump. Two days later I went back to get it, and it was still there, a VERY busy gas station, my wallet was in the middle of the stop light at the gas station and the highway. I thought the only chance I had to get it, is if it slide to the curb, or someone found it and dropped it off at the gas station. Not the middle of the intersecion that 30+ cars go through every light change.
You would think with that tear that big Your keys would be closer to your rig. hopefully you find them because I know that would drive me nuts. I would be checking the same place 50 times.😂😂 It probably would be a good idea to get duplicates made of the keys you have left.
Dave you and Lefty have a grate channel. I love watching makes me feel like I am at home and a lot of times makes me miss being back in the USA. I just hope and pray to GOD that my wife can get a visa to move to the USA. As I have side a lot of times I need to return home to the US for my health. It's very sad that the women in the US are not like the women here age is no big thing here looks is no big thing eather most of the women that are in a relationship with a forunier here in the Philippines the men are much older 20 to 30 years age difference and it works very well because at that age there very stable and know what thy want in life and as you know divorce is not legal here so when you get marryed here it's till death do you part. So do I. But when covering ground outdoors, I use a climbing quickdraw with 2 carabiners, so it's all hooked to 2 belt loops. Or I put them in a bag in a bag in a backpack, but still with the carabiners clipped to the bag. Twice on long hikes, I left a backpack compartment open and lost stuff, but the most important stuff was clipped in.
Sorry about your keys...l had two 5 dollar notes fly from the dashboard of car....realised a good hour later...went along the road..both notes were waving at me on the side of road...that was a joke ...they were there but not waving

The way the pocket is ripped I think you would have to stand up for the keys fall out .

Look on the floor where you put yourpants on and put your key in your pocket. The look of the hole in your pocket was quite large.

If you went to town to purchase something it might be located there because the pocket would be open to lose the keys while standing.
Or look where you might have stood up in the cycle’s stirups or around camp when you got back from the RIDE.
You could get a big magnet and pull it around to find the keys.

Did you check around on the bike frame, might have gotten hung up when they fell out, ya never know.
UA-cam is reducing the resolution of videos lately, so they're blurry. Especially when you're moving. No way we'd see key.
