College Humor HAS fallen off, in the sense that it is no longer the name of the company. It is now Dropout as the streaming service that started off as a College Humor subsidiary has massively overtaken it in terms of both success and new content generation and the company officially changed to be Dropout (I want to say) a few momths ago. There was also the time before Dropout was released where College Humor had a massive loss in profits and had to lay off all but like two employees (Brennan being one of the two that got to keep their jobs) which could also considered a falling off.
Its strange that youve heard people saying it is falling off, people in business journalism are going CRAZY over how well Dropout is doing. I literally use dropout more than any streaming service except youtube
hell yeah, keep watching brennan lee mulligan, if you like his work, I would recommend dropout to you, it's got all the skits, shows, and more of him and other great actors.
Really glad someone else pointed out how much this feels like improv. I like to think for the first couple of these, they gave him a script and he added in some ad-libs, so eventually they were just like “here’s the general premise, go wild.”
Never seen this channel before, but I somehow fell into a UA-cam rabbit hole where I'm watching even more jacked Apollo Creed (RIP Carl Weathers) react to some of my favorite old CH sketches and I'm here for it.
I am guessing there's a mix of scripted and unscripted... Brennan did teach improv comedy for years. it stands to reason that he would inject some of that in the process
Fun Fact about the Tide Pod challenge. It wasn't really a thing until the news made it a thing. It started as an online joke until the news got up in arms about it (the Nyquil chicken was another one this happened to). No one was ACTUALLY doing it except maybe one or two people (because some people are determined to spit in the face of evolution). After the news covered it THEN people started actually doing it!
I thought it's the other way around actually, that if your financial transactions get posted online you'd be more mindful of them, but I guess both sides can be true
8:38 "Cancelling," as much as people like to be dramatic about it, is just a large group of people saying they don't like something and refusing to spend their money on it. Sometimes they get overly aggressive and unreasonable, but then that is the problem - not the cancelling itself.
Boycotting is the word you're describing is. Boycotting is when a large group of people say they don't like something and refuse to spend their money on it. Cancelling is the version similar to an online riot. People not only refuse, themselves, to not contribute to the target, but they actively voice discontent and threats towards the target and anyone associated with them.
@@sixolddereks that is an inevitable result of a large number of people boycotting something. Some of them will be overly aggressive. It is good to speak out against that behaviour, when it happens, but an overwhelming majority of the time when people say someone is being "cancelled" what they mean is "people are boycotting this person and I don't like that." The word is not used to mean what you describe, even if that is what it's supposed to mean. Instead the term is overwhelmingly just used as a means to manipulate people into hating boycotts of things they like. The term is a significant part of the "free speech absolutist" movement, which ironically attacks any and all protest (you know, free speech) against people who have made harmful comments, claiming that them exercising their freedom to boycott somehow breaks the freedom of speech of the person being boycotted. Also, the definition is literally: "publicly boycott or withdraw support from (a person, organization, etc.) for promoting beliefs that are regarded as socially unacceptable." It is just boycotting that's intended to show support for social issues.

well brennan is an improviser, and an extremely well rounded writer. so im guessing theres a script, that he helps writing, but they probably do many takes and a lot of improvisation along with the scripts.
As a Tumblr Refugee - being forced to move to another website after being constantly flagged for posting NSFW and even SFW arts - I'm glad to see the CEO of Tumblr getting clowned on stream. Remember when they applied the NSFW filter so masterfully that even their own posts were getting flagged? Good times.
I super recommend watching the documentary on movie pass. It’s so interesting and is absolutely a case of two white guys taking an originally black owned business and running it into the ground.
you know i thought the tide pod thing was pretty fucked at first, but apparently there was not really a marked increase in injuries from tide pods for younger people? apparnetly the leading gen for eating tide pods was still old people :\
The tide pod thing wasn't a thing til the news covered it n claimed it was a thing. Challenges only really picked up steam back then AFTER the news said ppl were doing it. Children who had the potential of wanting to do such challenges, didn't have access to social media. They watched the news with their parents or while their parent was in the other room n decided that if other ppl were doing it, they could too. Previous to the coverage, it was actually rarely done. Some journalist saw a report about a kid eating a tide pod n ran with it. So many more recent big trends were pretty much caused by the news n its sad. Gen Z labeled the tide pod generation cuz reporters had no clue how influential they were or how many kids actually watched them. I am saying this as a gen zer. I didn't participate, no one I knew actually tried.

American politics in the media (dont know about international media, but DEFINITLY ours) tends to be VERY polarizing, and some people online want to lump others into either being completely "left" or "right" and want to assign definitive traits to each, usually negative. America doesn't have a left-wing party. The Overton Window is a bitch. And sure, our media is "polarizing". After all, one "side" is something that resembles basic human decency in some form or another. And the other openly campaigns on promises to strip marginalized people of their human rights while making posts about wanting to hunt and kill their political opponents with dogs and makes commercials all but screaming the sentiment.
