Aww. Watching this makes me miss doing Bookshark for history. I love how everything seems connected. We had to take a break for first grade since my kiddo isn't ready for some of the book selections. We will see if he is ready for it next year or we will try something different next year. 🤷♀️ 🪁
Hi science lady. I would like to share your videos on my social media. Enjoy your content and wanted to spread the word. The freedom of homeschooling has lots of perks.
I'm so glad you show the homeschool planner. I have it and never thought to use it like that. Do you do a day different spread for each kid for the week? Or is it more for you and what to do in the different blocks? And I absolutely LOVE the readers. I'm obsessed with them lol I will say though, I feel like exploring American history for 6 year olds might be a little young. My 7 year old is barely getting to where she has the attention span for it but I love that you are blending both levels, such a creative idea!
Also doing HBL D with my boys, but they are having a hard time connecting with The Witch of Blackbird Pond (which I’ve enjoyed so much). Any suggestions for a boy-oriented book on that same time period?
I got it off of Amazon about 6 years ago, it's out of stock, but here is the link in case you want to search for it somewhere else! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S2XPQ9C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I cannot figure out how to make sonlight work for our family after 2 1/2 yrs trying. When I watch your videos I think 🤔 maybe I can do it ! And want to try again. It’s the time factor for us.
Love these videos! Thank-you for sharing what the curriculum and material looks like when used in a real life homeschool day.
Thank you for sharing!! It’s always so neat to see how other homeschool families function throughout their day!! 🪁

We loved The Witch of Blackbird Pond too! 😊 I added the If You Lived books…for a few topics in Level E too. 😊
Loved this!

🪁 I like the way you did this video. I never know how to do a DITL style video without showing my kids. But this gave me some ideas. ❤
DITL videos are hard - glad I am not the only one!

Great video thank you ❤
You are very welcome!
Hi science mama
Great video! How long would you say a typical day of HBL-D takes, including readers and read a louds?
I would say an hour'ish for the together reading and 15-20 minutes for the kids to read the readers!

I wish I knew of a good one! It's so hard when the kids don't connect with a book!
You could try Sign of the Beaver
Random question, where did you get your calendar in the background?

Yes! I was going to ask the same thing?
