You nailed it. I was homeschooled. When we moved to a new town and I had recently been subjected to the concept of surprise parties for the first time, so I specifically told my mother all year before turning 9 "oh man, I'd really hate a SURPRISE PARTY... oh man, wouldn't that suck? Wouldn't a surprise party be A NIGHTMARE FOR A CHILD WITH CRIPPLING SOCIAL ANXIETY." BOOM. Surprise party at the new church (which I hated.) I was a people pleaser so I remember stressing out so much pretending to be happy and trying to get away from the fluorescent lights and other kids (whom I all hated) I literally went outside and passed out on the playground... my only actually friend spirited me away so I could cry, and she gave me pop tarts, and everything was ok... that girl was a BAB.
What Buff said is nothing short of biblical truth tho. Kids that young just need a bunch a water guns, balloons, and a hose to have the most epic party ever.
That little girl didn't enjoy the party at all. She just wanted a dragon, she didn't even care about dressing up she just wanted to play with her cousins. If they would have had a normal party with an inflatable dragon that little girl would have been happier.
Could not agree more, she would have been happy with a backyard party, friends and cousins only, inflatable dragon bounce house, come in costume if you want and all personally put together by mom...probably would have loved helping decorate her own cake. This debacle was alll mom.
if i had a daughter that wanted a dragon, rather than spending 30k on her moms fantasies, i would fu*king buy a giant dragon as playground fpr 30k. Because I want a dragon, too.
I feel for that little girl, that party was for the mum and she didn't even listen to a single thing her daughter wanted. Instead of throwing away 30 grand on bullshit, she could have found her a climbing frame that looked like a dragon, or an outside play house that looked like a dragon. That girl never once said she wanted a princess party- she wanted dragons!
yep! was thinking they coulda spent even a couple hundred dollars, not invited all those people, had a BLUE bird on the cake XD dragon, etc, and HER MOM HANG OUT WITH HER ALL DAY and do her hair/makeup for her, and she would have had way more fun!

Event person to mom: "this is your party, we can do whatever you want" But...its the kid's birthday party... kid just wanted a big dragon and a princess party, which they could've either hired a mascot person for a couple hours or buy her a huge dragon plushie while the kid's friends and her were dressed like princesses. That's it.
That's all the money that child would have got till she hits 18 maybe more but after that he better hold this moment over the mom's and child head for the rest of their life.
Rent a warehouse and put murals on the walls set up some cool games your kid will have the best party they can think of. The great gatsby type parties were to show off your wealth that you earned to adults that’s not a kids party.
You know what probably woulda blown this kid's mind? A dragon-shaped water slide. I'm sure they make those, prolly get it for a few hundo bucks at the most for a NICE one. Probably would've made the kid a lot happier, and they can use it for future parties...
Imagine how awkward it would be to be at her birthday party seeing how thrilled her mom is and how disappointed she was just like, happy birthday to your mom!
Just a dragon design on a sheet cake and a dragon stuffed animals. Or gets some flour, water, newspaper, styrofoam, and paint and you can make a dragon statue or dragon piñata for under $20.
I wouldn't be surprised if this girl never wanted her mom to put together a party for her again. All the girl asked for was a dragon and the mom made it all about her mid-life crisis.
You think she's a brat for being ungrateful, but she's a six year old who wanted a dragon party, now putting up with her mum's overcompensations and just disappointed that she didn't even get the simple things she actually wanted.
^ yep! Could'a gave her what she wanted for less than a thousand. Not to mention mom said she was "ungrateful" for just wanting her mom to be there. It's so crazy!
You realize all of this was staged right. It’s reality TV! These are my cousins and they don’t act like this one bit. They didn’t even have to pay for this they just played their roll.
Add in dollar store tiraras and wands along with some other dollar store costumes like wings swords etc. Get food. Boom instant princess party with a dragon under $500
That’s because it was all scripted and staged. Don’t believe anything reality TV shows you. This is my family, my cousins. They’re all grateful and loving people.
The fact that kid just asked for a dragon and a blue bird on the cake and got neither of those but everything else reminds me of all those Christmases where my parents were like "make a list of what you want Santa to get you"... I make a list with like 10 small things and get not a single one of the items on the list 🤦🏼♀️😂
Yeah, that’s what I thought, it kinda reminds me of my older sister. and I, my brother, gets so freaking much and i’m sat here content and happy with my art supplies and new firetrap hoodie 😂
the oldest is the lab rat but gets to be somewhat bossy the second child is the one that nobody really cares about the third kid is the one who gets all the hand me downs and is much more spoiled the youngest is the most spoiled child that the parents will protect with their lives (oldest child accidentally bumps into them and they fall on the floor crying) "YOUR'E GROUNDED!!!" at least in my experience XD
The best I got was my granny buying millions of decorations I didn't want, but the other kids loved. X3 My best birthday ever was when my dad bought me a horse tire swing for the tree. I didn't care bout no body else. I was there the entire time. No wonder I'm an introvert!!! X3 And then this year with my 'first' bf. :3
This was all for the mom and that little girl looked way overstimulated and probably sleepy. The kid really just wanted a dragon and to play with her friends.
The kid was probably overwhelmed. She didn't care about most of that party; it probably didn't feel like it was focused on her, with all those strangers and lavish stuff. The stress builds up and then when one of the few things she cared about was wrong, she felt so disappointed. Of course she isn't gonna "appreciate" the 30K party around her. Think about how many meltdowns kids have at Disney World. There's so much to see, it's overwhelming, it's tiring and hot to walk around, there's lots of waiting.. and then when they don't have time to get a picture with Elsa or whatever, they burst out crying. They aren't gonna have the perspective and proper emotional control to deal with it, they aren't gonna care or understand how much money the parents have used on their trip - the kid is gonna act like it's all ruined. So even though she's certainly a little spoiled, as mommy's last little girl, her reaction would be understandable from any 6 year old. She was never overly demanding, she just wanted to be with her mother and do princess stuff and eat cake and be the center of attention for the day. They could've made her much happier with just properly spent 100 bucks, but the mom set the tone for the party from the get go, so the kid just went with it. She wasn't being a perfectionist or a diva when she cried about the wrongly colored bird.
I feel bad for the older siblings because they never got anything like this and if they wanted to go to college they have to pay it by themselves without much help from the parents.
I feel bad for them too, but at the same time if they weren't raised so spoiled, they have a chance at being normal people in life instead of entitled karens. Hopefully they had college funds.

I was in a place where they have no running water no bed cardboard as part of the house dirt floors no AC or heat just a fire to cook meals and if you had to take a dump you had to go 50 meters away and dig your own hole and go!! The reason why we had to go 50 meters away from the village was to prevent contamination of their wells and protect their water source from cholera and other illnesses!! I lived in these conditions for a week!! I am thankful for all of the conveniences I have like a toilet and shower a bed and an AC in the summer and heat in the winter but if I can remember one thing it’s how much fun I had with the kids!! They could make a toy out of anything!!

Okay when I was a kid I'd go to my grandparents house, go swimming, eat hot dogs, and mom's cake made from the box, and I was the happiest kid in the world. What is this shit...
Honestly my most memorable birthday party was a Halloween themed party (my birthday is in October) where my Mom had us search for "ghosts" around the house that were just kleenexs with sharpie eyes drawn on. And I had a cake that looked like a spider and was filled with jello it was a blast and my parents probably spent like $20 max on decorations and food.
Yeah my parents used to host it at the local kids playarea and me and my friends would run around playing for hours, have something to eat, cake and ice cream and all go home and that was so much fun and under £200
not to mention it was kinda underwhelming for $30,000. I had a WAY nicer wedding for less than a third the price O.O Did she really need 2 ppl working on her hair, and it's not even her bday? lol
Honestly looks like all she wanted was a party with a guy hired to dress as a dragon or like a dragon toy and for her and her friends to dress as princesses. She's being horribly spoiled and that's what's really going to effect her. This party was for the mum not her. The bird on the cake situation is honestly quite a normal kid thing. I've seen my toddler cousin have a small tantrum over having a very specific slice of cake
People changing everything last minute isn't just in catering. My dad's an architect and he's had clients ask for something and then after weeks of high skill work, worth hundreds of thousands (if not a in million or two) of dollars, the person comes and says "I don't like it, I don't want that any more." That is truly soul-destroying.
People like that are everywhere. I once worked at a very fancy hotel, with massive, beautiful gardens. Gardens which I looked after. We hosted a wedding at the end of one of the rainiest weeks we'd had all year. Whole wedding was planned to be inside. The morning of, I get a phone call saying that because the sun came out she wants it outdoors. I'd already made the gardens as pretty as they can be going into autumn and considering the weather. The bride and I had plenty of chats where I said the ground is too wet and it won't stand up to chairs being laid out. But it's "her day" so I did what I was paid to do. Needless to say the chairs all sank, the garden became a mud bath and the bride tried suing the hotel for a ruined dress. Some people don't listen.
it looked like the kid was honestly very overwhelmed with everything. too many people, too much noise, so she had to find something to nitpick because she needed a way out of that picture perfect bubble, because she didnt feel comfortable and happy at all
I am very sure the party is the mom's wish when she was 6 & her parents couldn't afford to have one. I mean, look at how she looked like the life of a party instead of the birthday girl? I'm sure the kid just wanted a dragon, but forced to blurt out "princess party"

The mother wants a princess-party to impress everyone and ignores her daughters request for dragons. In future the mother will wonder who is this stranger her daughter has become and why they are not very close.
They are adorable lizards which my mother hates except for the cute ‘mean’ ones that have personality. They have a dietary needs and an aquarium with a heat lamp. Not so much to ‘play’ with. She still pet it all the time, this woman freaked if I brought a salamander or garden snake in. “Because once you touch them you get diseases.”
And probably preferred it over a party like this one. In my experience kids love kids parties and hate weddings and this girls mom turned this party into a wedding reception essentially. For all we know this kid would have been super happy to have a dragon pinata a cheep costume with a mom done hairstyle and a cheep bluebird sheet cake. (Bluebirds could be her favorite animal and so the bird being purple might have been like a kid who wanted a dog cake getting a cat cake.) That little girl might have some attitude, but all little kids do. She genuinely just wanted a dragon and some friends to have fun with and never got that. I don't think she even really liked princesses and all that stereotypical girly stuff. She didn't even get to choose what to wear on her own birthday. She looked so overwhelmed. Kids have trouble expressing complex emotions so I think the bird being the wrong colour was just the tipping point that no one was listening to what she wanted. I feel so bad. Edit: She was a bit bratty, but that's on the parents.
She’s not being a brat, she’s being a 6 year old. She’s extremely overwhelmed; most kids shut down when faced with a situation like this. Her mom is the shittest parent alive, she either doesn’t know her daughter well/doesn’t care enough to understand this type of environment would cause her react negatively. The commenters either don’t have kids/forgot how being a kid feels like.
I would be stressed out if that was my party now! Most of the guest are strangers (what 6 year old know 200+ people), she wouldn't be allowed to touch anything because most of the money went to decorations, and the spotlight is mostly on her mom.
She's totally being a brat. If that's not the definition of brat, then the brats in your world must be real monsters. It's totally her Mom's fault that she's that way, but it doesn't change the fact that she is a brat. Hopefully she'll grow out of it, but I doubt it with the way this family's dynamic works. On the other hand, her older daughter seems fine.
RiOT76AD It really is unfortunate when kids become bratty. It’s more often than not a result of their caregivers spoiling them and constantly reaffirming their ego. Especially as a young child your concept of the world is very narrowed so when your whole life you only know getting what you want when you want, it becomes what they expect
I drop a couple hundred on the party for my daughter every year. Pizzas, a cake, and a day of fully supervised madness in a giant room filled with bouncy houses and slides and whatnot.
At my cousin's 7th bday her big brother's girlfriend came over and gave her her brother's pokemon card collection he outgrew, the kid made out like a bandit.
They could’ve taken the kid to disneyworld, gone to bibbidi bobbidi boutique and had a 5 day vacation for the whole family with the photo package for less

the little girl was definitely having a sensory overload and i really feel for her. it might not seem like a big deal but the bird being the wrong color is something that can genuinely be distressing to a child. i’m autistic and at my 6th birthday party and many other special occasions i cried and had a meltdown bc ‘it wasn’t what i expected’. the meltdowns were never in an ungrateful way, i was just always too overstimulated and overwhelmed by the change in routine. at 19 i still get upset when things don’t go to plan and i’m not mentally prepared, or when things go unexpectedly and take me by surprise. if the specific scenario i have planned out in my head doesn’t happen, it’s distressing not knowing what’s going to happen instead and not having every occurrence possible considered
Which is sad because I think the biggest adult privilege is able to do what you want as long as within the law. Mom could of had her own princess birthday party and the girl could have her dragons.

Wouldn't a surprise party be A NIGHTMARE FOR A CHILD WITH CRIPPLING SOCIAL ANXIETY."
BOOM.

@@beverlyshull3709 Exactly this. I feel like everyone is treating her like a brat for not being "grateful" and for complaining about the cake, but... that's literally all she wanted and cared about. Having a blue bird on her cake and a dragon. She didn't ask for this extravagant, overwhelming, and probably really stressful party.
When I was 6 I got video games. I kicked everyone out and played my video games. Best party ever.
When I was 9 we went to a space exhibit and the people that worked there said we were going to space and I ruined it for everyone by shoving a cupcake into my pretend space helmet
That little girl might have some attitude, but all little kids do.
It's 100% her mum's fault but that doesn't change that the kid's a brat. Probably gonna be an absolutely unbearable teen thanks to her mum.
I drop a couple hundred on the party for my daughter every year. Pizzas, a cake, and a day of fully supervised madness in a giant room filled with bouncy houses and slides and whatnot.
I am indeed 18 and have a little sister that is 9 and I still invite my friends to her parties. The blowup slides are a big hit for all ages
Blowup Slides = yes
@@thatonepalico1966 yes sir 😂
I agree, I am 27 and still go with my cousins on their bouncy castle when the other kids are gone😂.
At my cousin's 7th bday her big brother's girlfriend came over and gave her her brother's pokemon card collection he outgrew, the kid made out like a bandit.
@@gwendolynstata3775 That's rad
The kid was as confused as everyone watching this lol she just wanted a Gwagon party and you gave her a princess party. Shame on you Mom
They could’ve taken the kid to disneyworld, gone to bibbidi bobbidi boutique and had a 5 day vacation for the whole family with the photo package for less
classic mom treating their child as an accessory. as soon as her daughter is not a cute 6 year old anymore she will feel like she's literally lost her accessory child and won't know how to relate to her as a human being.
Elisa Oliveira You're so beautiful

Thank you!
This is pure narcissism masquerading as childcare.
Way to ruin your children's future for your own self-gratification...
@@rustyshackleford4034 no thank you for replying to my comment! 🤗 and i totally agree that the affects on the cbild are usually massive. you can already see it happening in the show. at first the child is oblivous, then sometimes uncomfortable. by the end you see her exhibiting very enititles behavior because she's naturally testing boundaries, but of course this type of narc mom would use that behavior from a child this age as a mask for hwr own needs.
Looks like someone’s mom grew up in the lower middle class, married a rich dude, and is now living vicariously through her daughter 🙃
If he's not rich she just spent their life savings.
You saw how the dad was sweating, he ain’t rich
yikes that's rude, youre just as much of an ass as the mom
AND pocketed some of the birthday budget for herself and used "capturing the moment" as an excuse 🙃
@@jamiewilson2550 And? Mom was way out of line. If I was the Husband I would have shut this shit down. $30,000 is a NEW CAR, House, and about 10 Years worth of Vacations to Disneyland... NORMAL PEOPLE do not spend $30000 on a 6yo party
Mom: I want to capture this moment
Me: Ever heard about a camera ?
Scott's editing on the mom screaming towards the end is top tier lmfao
Sounds like mom is having a midlife crisis in the form of a 6 year's old birthday party
Judging by the girl's face the whole time I bet she wanted a dragon and was annoyed her mother wasted all that money on princess dresses and a purple bird.
Only the true friends go to your siblings birthdays.😂
That is facts! My best friend of like 12 years was the only one who went to my siblings/family parties and were still going strong.
Yeah only the friends who know too much about you 😂
@@wiggl3s_821 We’ re still going strong❣️ 🤗
If this is her Super Sweet Six, when she turns sixteen, she’s going to expect an island with an actual castle.
They could have rented a real Castle and did there own decorations and the girl would have had a blast and save twenty eight thousand dollars 💵
Saved 29,000 with groupon lmao
My brothers tended to have joint birthday parties and we've done everything from renting bouncy castles while I face painted for free to paintball to lazertag. My parents spent a bit more than usual but it evened out since it was for two kids. I guarentee they enjoyed that more
My parents would also let me choose between more expensive birthday party options with just a few friends or a big, cheap party. They cost about the same but gave me the option to pick what I really wanted
Having such a party at that young age, she'll mostly forget about the experience as she gets older.
Meanwhile, her parents will remember it forever.
Dad will be paying it off forever thats for sure.
They made it into a tv show so.she can watch it later!
“Honey, this is your party, we can do it however you want”
I thought this was the kids party??
the little girl was definitely having a sensory overload and i really feel for her. it might not seem like a big deal but the bird being the wrong color is something that can genuinely be distressing to a child. i’m autistic and at my 6th birthday party and many other special occasions i cried and had a meltdown bc ‘it wasn’t what i expected’. the meltdowns were never in an ungrateful way, i was just always too overstimulated and overwhelmed by the change in routine. at 19 i still get upset when things don’t go to plan and i’m not mentally prepared, or when things go unexpectedly and take me by surprise. if the specific scenario i have planned out in my head doesn’t happen, it’s distressing not knowing what’s going to happen instead and not having every occurrence possible considered
The mom is literally living vicariously through her little girl. The MOM was the one who always wanted the fairytale, PRINCESS party really.
Which is sad because I think the biggest adult privilege is able to do what you want as long as within the law. Mom could of had her own princess birthday party and the girl could have her dragons.
The mom just completely ignores what the little girl wants? Like, could've saved so much money with just getting a dragon and like a bunch of water balloons and kid stuff. Like there was nothing for them to do. Be yea'h the kids couldn't touch half of this stuff.
What if the little kid wanted to be a knight?
This is my family and this is all FAKE!! We got paid to do this, we even had scripts! You cannot believe reality tv!
Where was the dragon? That was the only thing this girl said she wanted, and it wasn’t there.
Maybe the mom was actually the dragon
Sure she did!!!
The dragon was there the whole time!
Setting up the party, spending the money, complaining, living vicariously through her child with her "Karen" hair, blowing kisses & waving like a douche!
See. Fairytales ALWAYS have a happy ending! 😄
I dunno about a dragon, but I saw a Shrek and a whole bunch of Donkeys
@@Vaguer_Weevil Mom was 3 in 1
Lord Farquad - Wealthy
Donkey - Surprise noises ahhhhhh
Princess - She in the dress
"don't be silly, sweetie, dragons are for BOYS!" -Karen mom, probably
All that money and WHERE WAS THE DRAGON???? 😆 Wasn't that the only thing she asked for?
Alright. The little lass said she wanted a princess party with a dragon. A bouncy castle, some cheap costumes, an inflatable dragon and some water balloons would’ve delivered maximum satisfaction and saved a butt ton of cash.
I feel like it was more like the mother’s dream to live this moment instead of her daughter’s because the fact that she was hiding the cost from her husband is very fishy
“I’m never going to be able to financially recover from this”
The kid will grow up and think "I wish they just brought me a house.."
This kid didn't ask for all that stuff, that's why she's confused. Lmao, get her the dragon and be done.
