Dunno if you guys cares but if you're bored like me atm you can stream pretty much all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last couple of weeks =)
OMG, thank you soo much. As you can see, today I went to buy a bigger cage for my cockatiels and I know nothing about decorating stuff, so this really helped me. :)
I love the foraging opportunities you give your birds! Also, please be aware that the coconut toy you hade in one of the cages is a big no no. They cause aggression in birds, especially if they are females as they perceive that coconut as a nest, and will become territorial over it and aggressive to any hand around it. It has similar consequences to a snuggle hut, but of course without crop impaction. Just a recommendation, but overall, your cages look fabulous and your toys and perches look fabulous!❤️❤️😉☺️
thanks so much! 💕 that is a very great tip, thanks for sharing! my birds never really viewed the coconut toy as a nest, they see it more as a food/toy bowl because I've always stashed either pellets, treats, or toys in there haha, its kinda like another foraging opportunity for them! they're much too big to fit in the coconut toy and I can see why it would be an issue especially for smaller birds!
You can oil the tree on the perches when you get them (take for example olive or rapeseed oil, brush it on with a brush or a paper towel, let be for 10 min and then wipe of exess). Then cracks will be less likly to appear 😁.
I recommend putting newspaper on top of the bars in the cage, to make the space more usable for them and to make it easier to clean! Or you could look into using substrate!
Unfortunately my bird enjoys chewing on things, especially newspaper, he destroys it within seconds. This tip worked with my cocatiel though but not with my Slaty head.
@@alanahjade27 Haha true. I'm just worried if the ink is toxic so I don't take the chance. My budgies don't really chew the newspaper but then again they are seed addicts so... Haha it's really difficult to get them to eat anything else. On top of that any training I give them they'll forget within a day. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong since this is my first time keeping budgies.
Girl thank you so much for an awesome video, I was searching for this kind of video for a while and here it is. Your explanation and showing the cage set up is soooo helpful! 🙏💚I definitely can’t miss you videos so I pressed the wonderful sub button to keep up with bye videos! Can’t wait for your new videos. My birdies are sending virtual hugs and kisses to your birdies 💚✨
How do you manage keeping a clean house with your birds flying around? I find it hard to keep up where they’ve been and pick up there poop everytime they are out.
Same. Got my new cockatiel (unfortunately the female one died due to egg binding so will get a new buddy for my baby boy tomorrow), he got out of cage and sat on my bed and in that short span my man dropped 3 tiny poop dollops on my new bed sheet.
Rather than use paper and the metal grid, at the bottom of the cage use a substrate something like hemp substrate or a bird friendly wood chip this will look after their feet and legs better and provide a foraging option for them.
Hi my new bird is coming in two weeks and I'm at the point of setting up. The cage so this video really helped in how to set it out! Definitely subbing 👍
Thanks a lot. Insta subbed. I have a question. How do you clean the wooden perches since cockatiels tend to poop on them quite often regardless of how you set them.
Hey thank you for your video’s! Could you tell me what cage that is you see at 2:38. Im searching for it online but can’t seem to find it… Thanks in advance!
Where did you get your natural perches? And those natural toys? I have a few pet stores around here but none of that really sell great bird toys and bird perches. If you get these online I would love to know what site! Great inspiration. I have a pineapple con your named Beaks 😍
Hello, I’m new to all the bird stuff but I’ve been doing a lot of research on it and I was wondering what is chop? I know it’s some type of food (I think) but what’s in it? Do you make it your self or do you buy it? I’m thinking of getting a bird in the future and I just wanna be prepared so if you see this could you tell me, thanks :D
Chop is like a bunch of vegetables grinded up together. It’s really healthy for birds and it’s easy to make. It can also last for about 3 days if it’s refrigerated
hi! i just found your channel and i'm in LOVE!! i was just wondering if you had a public amazon wishlist with your favorite bird products so i could purchase them.
How do you build trust with a new bird? I just got a new baby green cheek about 2 months old or so and it doesn't really let me hold him he would move away or nip at me, Ill be lucky if he decides to come on my finger but rarely. Its only been 3 days so im taking it slow until he is confident.
Eey looking for a new cage for my conure and was wondering.. His current cage has horizontal bars witch he uses as ladder to climb around all the time. Almost all the cages im seeing in the market are with perpendicular bars witch seem like it wont be a good change for him since he even sleeps hanging on the horizontal bars laying his back on a toy.. Whats the point of each design? Horizontal makes more sense
I was wondering where your green cheeks sleep? We have one of those tent things but reading mixed reviews on them, so looking to get something else. ❤️
Most birds just sleep being perch on a branch. Happy huts aren't good for them since they can accidently ingest the fabric. If you'll like a place were your bird can sleep you can always try a seagrass swing since those are safe. As long as the bird doesn't get aggressive or hormonal in the seagrass swing it should be fine.
I know this is kind of an old video, but do you have the link to where you got your birds cage? I have a 6 year old conure and I really need some advice
I’m in process of buying 2 new cage & wandering if your choice of cage? There are so many cheap rubbish I’ve mistaking bought, lucky I’ve i garden I can use them to keep snails away from my vegi’s
We have 2 budgies both around 4-6months and they are all about each other. Aside from consistency, what else can we do to get them to engage the rest of the family?
older comment, but generally, no. most woods aren’t safe, and unless you’re choosing safe woods, collecting them from an area you know doesn’t use pesticides, properly bake and clean them, and screw in screws and use washers and wingnuts, it’s not a good idea. if you don’t screw in screws they’re also not going to be nearly as sturdy as regular perches. if you don’t want to or can’t buy perches, you shouldn’t get a bird
@@squeeblebophard disagree... you don't need to purchase pre-made perches to own a bird. there are lists of safe woods you can use to make your own perches- swap some of that money for labour instead lol. just make sure the tree species is completely safe, you just need to clean them out thoroughly before placing them in your birds cage. when you take the wood branches, you have the chance to carve them into different shapes which can be beneficial for your bird with a variety of different textures. during the cleaning process you can scrub them well, either bake the branches or place them in boiling water (some recommend for a few hours) and when they come out they should be clean! you can use birdsafe sprays to clean them or lemon mixed with water, or apple cider vinegar mixed with water (usually I use apple cider vinegar/water mix) to spot clean them, but for thoroughly cleaning WHICH WILL be needed when you get the branches from outside, you need boiling water or to bake them in the oven. personally i just boil them in most cases, turns out easier for me. if you need advice or help on those safe wood lists I can send em to you! but you can also just search them up online see if they work for you. not everything needs to be bought... have fun with your birds and i hope this helped anyone else it's pretty much the same if not a similar process to how the pre-made perches are made.. why not diy?

I think it’s the one on Amazon, search up “lovebird perch” and a hanging one will come up. I have it and it hangs instead of stands
