I have 6 budgies , but only one is fully tamed 🙃 they used to eat only seeds.. slowly slowly they are starting to eat healthier, now the love carrots and sprouts😶💖 Btw your birds are soo cute😍🐥
How long did it take them to start eating fresh food. I've had my budgie about 2.5 months and he will only eat a seed mix. I've tried putting in fresh food early in the morning and taking out his seed mix but then he won't eat anything all day until I put his seeds back in later on
@@flamingbridges1649 for the moment I only choose vegetables that can be out for a while, like chopped carrots. It is a very slow process and our budgie started with not eating anything except seeds, so I realized we were going to have to have the vegetables available all the time for her to sample a little here or there. I know some people say not to leave chopped food out for longer than an hour because of bacterial issues, but many vegetables are able to be out for hours without growing anything. I mixed very finely chopped vegetables (typically bell pepper, broccoli or cauliflower, zucchini, carrot, radish and some type of green like spinach) with some flax seeds and hemp hearts and sprinkled some of her regular seed blend on top. I leave this out for her all day, with new food daily. I can tell by her droppings that she’s beginning to eat the greens at the very least. We have had her for three months and I began doing this the day we got her. If she gets more fond of the vegetables I will probably start making her a more complicated chopped food and only keep it out for a short while because I know she will eat during that time. But for now this is what I’m doing. I have tried leaving whole lettuce leaves clipped for her and she is not interested yet at all.
Bringing home my high red pineapple green cheek conure on friday been bonding with her/him for about a month now, bought him from a good family that owns a bird shop that actually proved to me they hand feed all their babies. This little dude was the only one out of all the brothers and/or sisters that was even interested in me when I went to take a look at them when they still had no feathers. I picked him up and and he wanted to climb all over me and stare at me and so I just knew it had to be him that I chose. The bonding process over the past month has been amazing, he's fully weaned now however on friday I will be picking him up and I can't wait. I'm super excited to train and super super excited to do recall training with him because all I wanna do is see him fly. Thanks to you and others of course I've been able to learn more and more about these birds and other bird basics so for that I thank you. The goal for me in the future is to own a blue and gold or a scarlet macaw but of course I wanted to start small and learn with other birds and work with other birds first and just learn more and more as I go. The dream that will probably never happen due to the price point would be to own a hyacinth macaw, I have gotten to meet and interact with their hyacinth up at the shop and he is just the most beautiful bird ever. Again thank you for helping us out and excited to continue watching and learning!
So we recently moved our conure into our bedroom. she seems SOOOO MUCH HAPPIER. We moved her because I needed to steam my carpet, but she's so much happier. she can see other birds, and outside and she sees where we "nest" These videos def helped
I'd suggest a second bird as an addition to that great list. Too many people think that "they" will be the bird's companion, but that self-sufficiency is really important & having 2 of them means they can entertain each other as well & it just makes them MUCH happier if they have a friend to preen & be preened by, like they would in the wild. Parrots are very social & tactile species, they really need that! So many bird "experts" don't even mention it though, or in some cases even advise separate cages for each bird, which really isn't good for them to not have a companion! & reading the comments, my other suggestion is target train, target train, target train. Doesn't seem to matter how many times every bird person on youtube says to do this, far too many people still seem not to do it & then ask questions like how to get their bird out of their cage, which is VERY easily solved with target training. EVERY bird should be target trained as their first training & bonding exercise!
@Axsthetic Bxnny I honestly would have gone with a second cockatiel, since you already had one, rather than a different species. I don't have enough experience with cockatiels & lovebirds to know if they can share a space or not, I can't even visualise the size of both next to each other sorry, so can't really help much on this one I'm afraid
I'm planning on getting a bird somewhere in march, (its February right now..) And I've been doing research till i came across your channel, You're really good at giving advice! I've learned quite a lot from your channel, And i feel like my future bird will have a really good life thanks to you! You're saving birds lives every time you post! I really appreciate that you still post till this day, And elaborate about how people should care for your bird.
I just got 6 birds, and I didn’t know how to entertain them, play with them, or even how to take care of them. So I was researching for tips and all, but none of them were helpful. I was about to give up, until I came across one of your videos. I started watching more and more and I learned things I didn’t know! Thank you so much your videos help a lot. Even tho my birds don’t have that much trust in me, I will keep watching your videos and use your very helpful tips!
i just got a baby parrot yesterday!! my first time having a pet actually, its still 1 month old and i really need some tips to take care of it! i loveee your videos so much i watched ur vids ALOTTT
I really suggest going to the youtuber BirdTricks, she has everything you need to know about whatever kind of parrot you have. I live in a farm and have 2 budgie birds and 1 parrot and she was a lot of help

Before I finish watching your video, just wanted to say thank you, you are well spoken, concise and thorough, this advice will make a happy bird & bird owner/companion some day soon.
😃 Can you please make a video about how to make/what to put in bird chop? I can’t get my conure to eat veggies and I think chop might be more appealing to him 😩 he eats pellets and fruit (seeds are used as treats), but the vegetables he refuses to touch!
luv ur vids, you speak with knowledge from actually being around your birds. I adopted a cockatiel from very abusive people, that was 27 years ago, he still won't let me touch him but that's ok, he does interact with singing and talking to me which i enjoy very much, since when i first got him he would stay in back of cage and hiss at every thing! He enjoys freedom of flying and company of my yellow monk. Keep up the vids
so how old is the cockatiel!? that's crazy! I think if we properly bred them and gave them an enriching life with the correct varied diet, plenty of foraging opportunities and social interaction, their life spans would drastically increase!
I got my daughter a new parakeet and she makes sure all of her parakeet's toys and bed and all that other stuff is safe for her. And my daughter loves your channel. Her and her parakeet watch you every day.

When I came home from baseball games or school my old parakeets would get so excited, I miss them SO much but we moved and they were very stressed to the point of fighting each other, so they now live with my older cousin in her dorm and they're doing so much better
I love what you said at the end cause I learn somethings at different channels then I learned different things from your channel and I think that that is almost the most important piece of information to learn from different people cause different people have different experiences and also learn about different parrot breeds so you have a large understanding of different birds love your channel ❤️😊❤️so helpful 👍
TYSM! I just got a new bird and he’s a budgie He’s soooo cute and adorable 🥰 it’s my 2d day with him and I want him to love me and cuddle with me Just like your birds! I’ve been trying to play and train him. Right now he has a very very small cage and no toys and plastic perches and plastic food and water dishes and he has a full seed diet😢 I’m going to buy him the best cage ever and the most amount of toys I’ll buy him amazing things and give him a happy and wonderful life!
My sun conure has been such a challenge, but thanks to your channel Im beginning to understand what Ive done wrong and how to make a fresh start with him. I'm really looking forward to learning more from you. Thank you for what you do.

2 pieces of advice to you another channel called BirdTricks yt are really experienced and remember to get a bird that bonds with you not just you like/want a certain breed so no doubt you’ll get it (unless it’s a breeder and you already know what breed) 😊also what breed of bird is it 🙃
Thank you so much :D I recently brought home Raine from the pet store, I've interacted with them since they were a few weeks old, so fortunately they trusted me more than they would have if I had just brought them home before meeting them. They're a turquoise green cheeked conure :>

But this morning i woke up and saw this notification and i watch it. And you're not sayin what everyone is sayin and i was amazed like WOWWW. So thanks for this tips😌
I’m gonna get one soon so I’m studying them becuase I’m getting a budgie becuase I’m a starter bird owner and as I said I am studying them to give my future bird the best life they could 😊
Hey to all the people reading this comment!! owning a bird is not just getting a bird, sticking it in a cage and giving it a couple for toys! NOOOO its WAY more that THAT! taking care of birds is a lot of responsibility and u NEEED to have patience and empathy towards ur bird in order to be the best possible owner for your bird!! i have had at least 20 odd birds and they come with their own difficulties! remember birds are like us, each different in personality and character (thats basically the same this right?) so we need to put ourself in our birds shoos so u can understand it! pls remember if u see a bird that seems nice PLS PLS don't just get it think about it first! u have no idea if that bird was newly put in the pet shop and is just getting used to its surroundings, it could have a COMPLETELY different character to what u thought at the pet store! bless u all! stay safe and look after those birbs!!
I have got a fancy parakeet on july first then got a shell parakeet on the 2nd.. lol there tweeting right now, we gave them a healthy diet and fruits n veggies
It took me at least 5 months of the research to get a bird I got a bird last month and his name is tingo he is a green cheek as well but I’m very confused how he started to trust me so fast the first day I got him he fell asleep on me but he’s is the sweetest bird ever he’s going outside without a leash now but not anywhere else because bigger birds over all your videos have helped me a lot and I’ll continue to watch them thank you.
Don’t be confused-that’s the magic of many Green Cheeks (particularily babies); they bond quickly and easily in a new home (almost like many cockatoos). Whereas an African Grey or other species might takes weeks to get as comfortable as many Green Cheeks will be on the first afternoon in a new home. They are a cuddly and close knit species that wastes very little time becoming close to whomever is offered (bird or human) and willing. It doesn’t surprise me that they are becoming the third most popular pet bird in the United States.
Hi! I love your videos! Hope you’re doing well!!! I would like to ask you: Will you recommend to put like a hammock on their cage for sleep? What do you do on winter? How they sleep confortable?
Birds don't need beds or things like that to sleep! I'm sure your birds will be just fine without, even during winter. If they look cold, just do what you would do if you were cold- turn on the heater! Maybe put a blanket around the back and on the top of their cage, to trap heat. Be careful, you don't want them to get too hot.
You have the greatest videos. We just welcomed two new green cheeks and with these babies, we'd like to trick train them, which we didn't do before. What's your go-to treat for training? I noticed that it's something small. Doesn't look like safflower. Is it bits of millet?
Excellent advice!👍🙏 As a cockatiel momma for 10+ years I'd like to add two things: 1. If you don't have the resources to commit to your pet birds (in form of TIME DAILY, providing healthy food, spacious cage, toys etc), consider getting another type of pet. 2. Keep in mind that most parrots are flock birds so having a single bird is not in line with their natural "circumstances" so to speak. ALWAYS consider getting at least a pair, if not more. Everybody in the household would benefit, especially birds. If you don't want them to have babies, get a pair of the same sex. Perfectly the should be of the same breed but you can also mix and match different breeds BUT RESEARCH which ones work well together.
Hello, thank you so much for all your great videos, I'm a new bird owner and have learnt a lot from you. One small question, any tips on how to avoid your birds pooping on you and your furniture?
My birds arent tamed yet i am taming them but they dont usually land on my hand but sometimes they will and until im fully comfortable i wont be taking them out as they are finches they are on a mixed seed diet so i will put them on a healthier diet :)
I want to start feeding my budgie chop but not sure the best way to do this. He shows a little interest in some veg I give him but he just picks at it and doesn't eat it. He currently just eats an organic homemade seed mix diet
Hi there I would love some advice on biting and bonding - I have an 8 month old pineapple conure and she is 1/2 trained I’d say ?!? She still bites when she’s on my shoulder sometimes and will definitely bite if you try putting her back before she wants to go. She loves me and we are definitely bonding, she will kiss me and chitter in my ear but then if I try to move her she becomes aggressive. My Godmother raised birds so I grew up with many bigger birds some smaller parrots too. I rescued Juno from Petsmart and have had her about 3 weeks. Just a little confused with her body language? Or am I encouraging her behavior somehow? Thanks so much Your videos are awesome- got my husband building a playground out of pvc right now lol
I don't know if you'll see this, but I was wondering if you could tell more about how to transition a bird to a healthier diet or suggest any website or video that instructs you how to do it.
My parrot is month and a half, he is learning how to fly, and get scared when we get him out of the room ,also he is so attached to his cage (and to me and my sis ,we took care of him), when we take him out all he want is going inside the cage 😢... Any advice please?🥺 Or is patient the answer ? Am afraid he won't get used to the house and the family 😔😭
i lost my first bird (a cockatiel) because his cage was in the same room as one of the exit doors and his cage was open at the same time as the door which was not my fault because i told them to never leave both open at the same time
My budgie just died today and now my cockatiels lowly or not he kinda seems like he doesn't care but im lonely so because I don't want my cockatiel to get lonely I think im going to get another bird not for a while though ofcourse
I just got a blue conure that is roughly 11 months old. This is my first bird. Question is the surroundings as in the bird's cage. How big ? Toys & foraging items. How much is to much in regards to "branches" perches, & how do they best sleep? ASAP please..
Where do you get your natural fiber toys and perches? I looked on planet pleasure and it only forwards me to Temu. My birds learns slowly how to play. He ignores hanging toys. I liked those mats type toys for the table.
they're living the best life 🥺
I ain't gonna lie all of her videos has helped me with my bird

Great advice!!
Do you have any content on foraging ideas and safe play toys plz?
Your videos have been super helpful 👍🏻🦜
Love your videos. Recently received cockatiel I wish he could be trained to not poop when out of the cage.
I have got a fancy parakeet on july first then got a shell parakeet on the 2nd.. lol there tweeting right now, we gave them a healthy diet and fruits n veggies
I am new to birds
Please show how to set up a cage and what toys can be made from household items
I would like to ask you:
Will you recommend to put like a hammock on their cage for sleep?
There are only a few bird youtubers that actually post good content
You're one of them! ❤
Birds are so cute awww!
Excellent advice!👍🙏
As a cockatiel momma for 10+ years I'd like to add two things:
Perfectly the should be of the same breed but you can also mix and match different breeds BUT RESEARCH which ones work well together.
agreed!
THIS VIDEO CAME IN THE RIGHT TIME SINCE IM GETTING MY BIRD TOMORROW >:D

This is great. How do you teach your bird to play with toys?
4th veiw!
love the videos,
great advice❤
hi!! thanks for watching! 💕
Hello, thank you so much for all your great videos, I'm a new bird owner and have learnt a lot from you. One small question, any tips on how to avoid your birds pooping on you and your furniture?
You can potty train them to poop in their cage or wherever you want them to poop. I dont know much about it but you can look it up
My birds arent tamed yet i am taming them but they dont usually land on my hand but sometimes they will and until im fully comfortable i wont be taking them out as they are finches they are on a mixed seed diet so i will put them on a healthier diet :)
This was perfect timing because I just got a cockatiel :))
I want to start feeding my budgie chop but not sure the best way to do this. He shows a little interest in some veg I give him but he just picks at it and doesn't eat it. He currently just eats an organic homemade seed mix diet
Really informative! I am now a subscriber😀👍
Thanks so much
Your videos are awesome- got my husband building a playground out of pvc right now lol
These are so helpful thanks! Do a bird room tour, please! :D
I love your videos and I have a question on what vet to take your bird to
I don't know if you'll see this, but I was wondering if you could tell more about how to transition a bird to a healthier diet or suggest any website or video that instructs you how to do it.
Amazing 🤩
Can u plssss make more bird diy toys
My parrot is month and a half, he is learning how to fly, and get scared when we get him out of the room ,also he is so attached to his cage (and to me and my sis ,we took care of him), when we take him out all he want is going inside the cage 😢...
Any advice please?🥺
Or is patient the answer ? Am afraid he won't get used to the house and the family 😔😭
My green cheek is 7 months and he constantly bites, I hope he bites less as he gets older 😊
Just earned yourself a new sub 😁
This is great advice!
ty you
Phenomenal video
i lost my first bird (a cockatiel) because his cage was in the same room as one of the exit doors and his cage was open at the same time as the door which was not my fault because i told them to never leave both open at the same time
I just got my Cockatiel 4 days ago and it feels like torture not picking him up
Im getting mine after 2 days im getting 2 budgies im naming them pearl and coco thx for the tips💖💖
I had my budgie for over 6 months
My budgie just died today and now my cockatiels lowly or not he kinda seems like he doesn't care but im lonely so because I don't want my cockatiel to get lonely I think im going to get another bird not for a while though ofcourse
I just got a blue conure that is roughly 11 months old. This is my first bird. Question is the surroundings as in the bird's cage. How big ? Toys & foraging items. How much is to much in regards to "branches" perches, & how do they best sleep? ASAP please..
Very informative and well explained 👍
Where do you get your natural fiber toys and perches? I looked on planet pleasure and it only forwards me to Temu. My birds learns slowly how to play. He ignores hanging toys. I liked those mats type toys for the table.
Good information
Great video ❤
