- Northern British Columbia road trip. Today we explore an old cannery and the oceanside town of Prince Rupert BC. VAN LIFE CANADA
My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after t11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.
I now have a shop space to keep me busy through the winters here on Canada's westcoast. Went from Van Life to VAN LIFE + SHOP LIFE !!!!!! Come join this crazy van life journey of mine. HIT SUBSCRIBE, trust me its gonna be a WILD RIDE.

Learning about and appreciating history does not make us old. It expands our minds.
Age is not required to appreciate museums and history, you just have to have the right frame of mind. You have developed that state of mind, and I think your travels have helped you get there. Great video!
This was very interesting. You’re not getting “old”. You’re getting wiser.☺️💙🇨🇦
Turning 70 in a few months. History is always been my thing. I absolutely love it. That was my best class in school. Probably the only one I paid attention in. 😂 and now when I see history, it’s not ancient history anymore. It’s about the era of my childhood, and that flips me out 😂😂😂
Great episode Chrome! Personally, I like it when you and Emmie do things together. Cheers!
@7:30 I'm sure there's a lot of paperwork and correspondence needed to run a food business in the age before computers.
Has nothing to do with age..you're educating yourself! Fits perfectly with your inquisitive personality!! I love it!!! Thank you
Everybody gets old. It’s just that with age, comes wisdom. And with wisdom, comes curiosity. You wanna see more and do more.
Hey now! It’s got nothing to do with being old, it cool! That was awesome! Thank you Chrome and Emi for taking us along to these places that a lot of us will never see in person. 😊❤🍻
Worked in cake mix, pancake mix, biscuit mix, you-name-it mix factory in the 70s, why does it seem all those machines were in that color of green. 😆 Great trip, Chrome & Emi!!
Chrome, thank you for letting me travel vicariously through you!!! I’m recovering from a major surgery and you and Cruze always brighten my day! Stay weird…and safe!!! ❤️✌️
I hope you recover well 😊
@@asmradventureasmr Thank you so much! 😊✌️
I wish you a speedy recovery 🙏
Me too,
@@kathybest6950 Thank you! 😃
That cannery tour was awesome! Looks like a lot of effort was made to recreate the whole experience! Very cool! 😊
Museums are interesting. You get to see how they lived once upon a time. Also you get to re-imagine how life is going in your current life. Thanks for taking us on your trip today, guys! ❤😊
I didn't know that going to a museum was "old people stuff." Since childhood, I've been drawn to museums 😌
My mom used a wooden spoon one time to spank me and it broke. She was so upset! She made me go borrow a belt from a neighbor preferably one with holes so it would hurt more. Those were the days!
Man , I wish I wasn't on the road, so I could have given you an Emmy a Rupertite tour. There are still some magical places for you to find there. I amenjpying how you see my home and playground.
Enjoy the drive North. There are some epic things to see and do ahead.
Cheers!
My mom worked her summers in a cannery in Mission, BC. Thanks for sharing.
Chrome, you're traveling is such beautiful country! I'm so excited to see all the places you can squish & smash your van through! What an awesome adventure that awaits you and Emily in the coming weeks. I'm SOOOO glad you posted early today! Sitting here 30 miles from home waiting on prescriptions at the only compounding pharmacy in a 5 County area. Small town life 😅! Wishing you both happy trails and safe travels, Kelly and Cruzie Bear too!
I'm eating lunch at Schlotzsky's, your views are definitely better than mine. Cannery was cool, the mannequins were creepy. 👻
Fun times again ❤
Love how cruz cruises 👍🐾
Not older just smarter lol❤
You know Chrome, they make cups that you can put a leak proof lid on? Nice big ones like yours! 😊
HEY! Hello Chrome and Cruz, thumbs UP!!
You enjoying a piece of history...means you're growing up 😂😅❤❤❤
Awesome video again from the "Wooden Spoon Survivor". Welcome to the club Chrome!
You know a woman loves you when she laughs at all your corny jokes and you know a man loves you when he could truly be himself without any reservation!!!!
😊🥰🤗 "Nice video of your continuous adventures of everyday life"! 😁
Wishing you safe travels. ❤❤
I was at Prince Rupert over 35 years ago...from the pictures looks the same, just a new coat of paint on the oceanfront! I think up the Canadian Coast in BC is going to be my next epic trip. And when I worked on fishery research boats if you had to go you had to go...but paper waste went into a ziplock...LOL. Thank you for the beautiful scenery!
This is perfect . . U have gotten ur tech stuff on point and ur discussions are very important for WISDOM.
There's such a controversy over the population understanding and Using WISDOM IN THEIR LIVES.
Muchas Gracias and Thank You
ps Wisdom comes with experience
I'd be willing to bet that little "dog house" was more of a "cat house"! Cats were necessary for keeping mice out of the canneries and docs and boats. Rat poop can damage the canning and the meat, so they really needed the working cats around all year long.
The Queen Charlotte's are worth the ferry ride. North beach is incredible and you can do a couple weeks of episodes from there.
Not called the qeen Charlotte's islands any more. Try Haida Gwaii ,racist
Beautiful seaside location!💕. Also great to see Cruzie on his little jaunt about town. 😊🐾😊🐾😊🐾
Enjoy your travels, and more of the back country sites.
Knowledge is powerful, past, present and future, appreciate yesterday for tomorrow, history tells the story where it began and how far we have come and yet so much yet to explore and discover, doesn't make me old, living loving life.
Hi Chrome and Cruz. I was over in Canada mid-June for 4 days. Unfortunately, business. But I am looking to rent a camper van for the month. Maybe next year in July.
Blast from the past! LOVE IT! 🥰
Great stuff as always fella!
Was anyone else wondering what industries from our current times will end up being turned into museums of the future? 😊
Also I got into this kinda random shizz like late 20s does that make me old way beyond my years? 😂
I don't believe you actually like museums. I think you enjoy exploring and making your own history.
Love your vids crome
Yetti cups come with a lid. I don’t know why you don’t get a cup with a lid instead of trying to juggle your coffee. COME ON DUDE!!😠
If you had the AMBO done you’d have two full tanks of gas. A Week of off-roading
Great Video, nice to see that Emily made a guest appearance in the vlog. Looking forward to the next one.
Where does all the sea creatures potty? Think about it! 🥴
Your not getting older your craving knowledge which is a sign of maturity! Great video say hi to Emily and give Cruz an extra treat for me!
Destination Adventure did a great video on this cannery. It was very informative and interviewed people. Really neat.
Yes that was me and trailbirds in the tiny car!! Honking for the strike in town. Thanks for visiting this little town!
Museums are fun, I love learning about the history of different places. Don't feel bad we all get older and slow down a little.
Isn’t getting old a blast!? You can enjoy whatever you want, whenever you want and you don’t have to explain nuthin! I think you enjoy museums now because you are at peace. You have slowed your mind down enough to appreciate the meaning behind the things you see.
Enjoyed getting to see inside the museums. Yes, get groceries and explore.
Chrome, All the company name labels were all the company's that it was called/bought by. Destination Adventure did a video about the canary. That canary is a big deal to that town..
Not getting old, just getting more Cultured.
Thank you chrome and cruizie for this beautiful day with such amazing canneries
Why park so far away from Emily... you would think you'd be closer :) Love you both
I luv that Cruzy watches out the windows..enjoying the scenery too..Thank u.
Wow… beautiful. Those bridges are scary though.
🤣Well, I'm 40 and I love visiting stuff like that. But I've always had a thing for historical places. That was a cool stop!
Dude! We’re the same age! You’re NOT getting old! Just more…vintage 😂
Chrome as a daily video creator...Only Casey Neistat may have him beat in that niche. Chrome is number 2 !
My friend was getting a wooden spoon beating in front of us and the spoon broke in half and we all start to laugh. His mom was so upset that she took a ladle.
Wow! This has just been a epic trip so far! thanks for the share.
Hey! Thats my lil Car with the big horn.
That museum was pretty cool.
I just love videos of historical places. Very nice. ❤
Let's go
Awesome thanks for taking us along Enjoy much love and blessings
Did everyone catch that small avalanche on that mountain at the beginning 😳
My gran worked in a cannery in Oregon picking crab.
My mom made me go pick my own switch.
I rode The Queen of Prince Rupert Ferry on my way to Alaska decades ago, beautiful.
HIADA is where my family is from and live. I miss it there so much. So much to enjoy.
Beautiful Prince Rupert Island, blessings and safe travel to you and Emi
Hi Chrome and Cruzie ,another great adventure , thank you.
Loved the video. Thank you for sharing
I love to travel with you
You always make my day
I am stuck in a basement apartment with bad knees and a class c waiting for me the be better
So I appreciate everything your videos are showing me
BRIDGES EEEEK !!! ...lol.....
but sooooo BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL ......
Thanks very much for sharing your adventures with us Chrome 😊
1:07 Woah 😢😢
Im glad to see Crome come to terms with age. You're old man lol, embrace it. Be glad to see old age. Some never make it.
Great video and what a cool place thank you for bringing us with Chrome and Cruz Big hugs from MN
I really enjoyed the museum..part myself..I'm like you I never liked history or things like museums..but you might be right, as we get older seems we appreciate the past more..especially in this crazy world we live in now..I miss the old days..
Lol my mum hit me with a wooden spoon too. But being a black belt in Taekwondo that spoon got broke when I held my arms in front of my head for protection…. Yeah she swapped it fir a rolling pin and said let’s see you break that!!!
The "crazy" communication going on was letter writing.
Notice the overhead belt drive which allowed one motor to run all the machines.
Typewriters used to type up invoices, orders, etc
Thank you for sharing with us, this was super cool dude glad I got to catch it. Well catch you guys on the next one until then peace and chicken grease 😁👍👍😎
When I was in my teens I worked at a food processor. Same kind of equipment was used. So cool Chrom
Okay Chrome, coffee up on the dash is just an accident waiting to happen! The cannery museum was cool.
Now I truly have learned something of Canada. And it had nothing to do with tree trunks or rivers. mountains as you drive by jussi tree trunks.
I live in Ketchikan in Alaska, which is probably the closest Alaskan town to Prince Rupert who is go there to close shop and I will drive through Canada. I spent now half my life in the states and half my life in Alaska. I’m back in Alaska now just for the last six months but my heart really wants to go and can explore BC on down, but I appreciate your videos and I miss seeing you and Emmy exploring together
You are scaring us Chrome with your travel plans. 😱
Today is my first viewing of your channel. Whoo Hoo 😁 Someone new to have coffee with in the morning.
I know it's close to Ketchikan and it reminds me a lot of it! I LOVED Ketchikan!
my mom had flat shoes with wooden heels.. that had some substance. My older brothers wrote a letter to the department store where she bought them and asked the store not to sell them anymore.
I remember one time, my brother was getting hit and when he tried to duck he jammed his tooth into the edge of the washing machine, chipping the white enamel of the washing machine, he got into even more trouble for damaging her new washing machine.
The cannery tour looked like fun for you both. I wondered if you would end up down on the waterfront in Rupert last night. It was a beautiful evening for something like that. The lakes around Rupert are pretty nice to spend time at.
Right on chrome, those glaciers that was awesome. Hi feel you that’s what I’ll be wanting to do find the dirt yeah 👍👍😁😎
Lots of back roads on Haida Gwaii. One in particular is Rennes Sound. Looks like Hawaii. Beautiful spot
about the poo. I don't believe there's a clean to do nasty stuff. In my opinion petrol based stuff like plastic do more harm to the nature
Thank for sharing. Great time and interesting fun .
Wow that’s awesome Chrome, and hello cat lady, and tell Crewse bear I said hello 🐶👍
I love going through Museums ❤
Oh man, l've been to that museum and it is amazing! Prince Rupert is a lovely place to visit.
hi Chrome one of my favorite places is Haidia Gwaii and it is beautiful, My sons band has played there twice, You will not be disappointed. Go when the music festival is on its the best.
This place is literal nostalgia to me cause i only went here once
