The TT-30, commonly known simply as the Tokarev, is an out-of-production Soviet semi-automatic pistol. (A semi-automatic pistol is a type of repeating single-chamber handgun (pistol) that automatically cycles its action to insert the subsequent cartridge into the chamber (self-loading), but requires manual actuation of the trigger to actually discharge the following shot. As a result, only one round of ammunition) was developed in 1930 by Fedor Tokarev ( Fedor Vasilievich Tokarev was a Russian weapons designer and deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from 1937 to 1950.)

Hello. Your comment about artisans is right. Many who practice manual labor are being swallowed up by a market where everything is mass-produced and disposable.
I knew some people used vinegar to remove rust, but I didn't know how good it worked. I would like to share some of the things I learned by customizing and restoring firearms over the years. The 1st thing would be to get bronze gun cleaning brushes in the caliber you need, and a bottle of Hoppy's #9 gun cleaning oil. If you had one you would have been using the flannel patch also dipped in Hoppy's within minits of cleaning that barrel. I did a lot of polishing frames and slides for " off duty carry " pistols for our local police. Your sanding and polishing of the frame and slide would have gone faster and easier if you started with 400 grit paper and use the 1000 just to take out the 400 scratches. Same with the buffing wheel. Get a harder wheel and Tripoli compound ( keep them together and only use them together ) to get out the bigger imperfections in less time and effort. That way the blue compound will make an even better finish in less time. I don't know what part of the world you live in or how much access to gun cleaning tools you have, since the order contains no firearms or ammo, you should be able to order on line. I mostly use Midway USA for what I can't get locally
Don't you think that 400 and 1000 grit are to fine for this type of pistol? Not to mention polishing after that?! Shouldn't this pistol be finished only with fine "straight" sanding process up to 320(maximum 400 grit) and then rust blued?
I think its bull shit vinegar won't effect much.

Yeah I'm there with you I just turned 65 I've been a gun freak for 55 years I'm not totally cramped up or disabled but some things take longer and depending on my on the temperature my hands have a problem with a couple of my fingers and at that age since you know you don't have a lot of life left you get impatient so it takes three times as long to do things

@@MrTruckerf Think for yourself which is better. Leave it to rot further or give it a second life.
Also to clean the bore, I use a cleaning brush on a long cleaning rod and stick it in my hand drill. Let the spinning of the drill clean the bore while you move the cleaning rod in and out with solvent. It also works great for revolver cylinders to remove lead buildup.
If you use a drill motor in a gun barrel you should only use a plastic bristled brush to avoid dulling the sharp edge of the rifling.
Тульский Токарев это безусловно легенда! а уж довоенный выпуск тем более. У меня 1952-го года, уже не те ощущения.. но все равно доставляет.

это не оригинальный токарев. у оригинального защёлка магазина снизу рукояти, а не кнопка сбоку, как здесь. какая то то поздняя вариация типа токаджипта...

Всё красиво. ТТ красивый пистолет времён ВОВ и сейчас просто блеск.
По моему мнению - это инсценировка. Коррозия поверхностная, глубокой коррозии нет вообще, некоторые части вообще поблёскивают, пластинчатые пружины не сгнили и не сломались при разборке, нарезы в канале ствола имеют чёткие грани как будто ими вообще ни когда не пользовались. На затворной рамке слева, имеются какие-то надписи, которых там вообще быть не должно. Моё мнение таково: это современная копия или муляж, искусственно подверженная коррозии в слабом солевом растворе насыщенном кислородом, ролик снят исключительно ради поддержания содержания своего канала. Экземпляр 1930 года на международном рынке, стоит больших денег, обратите внимание, что номер пистолета не показан, так как он многое мог бы рассказать, в том числе и дату выпуска. Да и откуда в его стране свободно валяется и корродирует экземпляр 1930 года? Обман!

😀а куда раковины от ржавчины подевались ? Даже при недолгом воздействии появляются изъяны , а тут поц почистил и всё блестит , и интересно гравировка там мелкими - как её не сожрало _ поверьте видел их много - здесь постанова ...
... засунуть нормальный пистолет в солёную воду, подождать... Потом обмазать говном...и можно приступать к реставрации!

Что прекрасного? Дружище! Я тебе любую вещь состарю до такого состояния за 6-8 часов. Не нужно быть химиком,достаточно школьных знаний,если в носу не ковырял,а учился. Любой военный скажет и отличит состояние при беглом осмотре! Это чисто фейк!!!!!! Тупо бабки крендель зарабатывает. Будь он у нас -уже статья только за одно хранение. Три части рабочие:рама,ствол,затвор! 5 лет в кармане!!!
В России это называется чердачный сохран. О реставрации в данном случае говорить слишком громко. Это скорее усиленная чистка оружия.

Татоша вообще не советский, югослав или венгр. Потом пистоль явно ранее сняли воронение и бросили на пару дней в грязь. Никакой реставрации в упор не увидел (((.

Че за липовая грязь на стволе, где раковины от ржавчины? почему пружина не сломана, если типа ствол прям аж отсеивается. Там бы пружине каюк был. поднанимают говна потом наивные дурачки повторяют и остаются без глаза.

@@Ivan-Ivanovv Однозначно. Этот пистолет специально подготовили для того, чтоб снять видео. Настоящая коррозия оставляет совершенно другие следы, которые способом, показанным в ролике никак убрать нельзя. Так же все мелкие детали, особенно пружинки, приходят в полную негодность и требуют замены.

К стати видео вводит в заблуждение!! В видео представлен пистолет ТТ-33 то есть он никак не может быть 30 года это хорошо видно по стволу (у ТТ-30 на стволе 2 фрезеровки в верхней части ствола для фиксации, а на видео круговые проточки) и также крепление пластинчатых пружин в рукоятке у ТТ-30 фиксация пружины с помощью винта а не как на видео.

I actually restored one of these that a friend gave me a few years back. Wasn't quite as bad as this one, but very close. Was a fun little clean up.
Excellent job. I own such a pistol in the 60s. it was spoils of war. In Finland, it was called the Star Pistol

Что то вообще сомневаюсь, что это оригинальный ТТ. Какая то гравировка странная на левой стороне затвора проступает.
@@user-wr6bt9xb8c Тоже обратил внимание. Нет на ТТхе никаких надписей, кроме номера, ну и там клейма. А тут прям вся щека исписана.
Пистолет ТТ был любимым оружием как спецслужб, так и криминала. В те года он пробивал все известные бронежилеты и это была проблема для врага. Если в документах говорилось что человек ранен из ТТ, то скорее всего он умирал. Очень сильное останавливающее действие у патрона ТТ. Калибр как у автомата Калашников 7.62
ТТ в возрасте 86 лет до сих пор стоит на вооружении многих стран. Это любимое коллекционное оружие во многих коллекциях.

After watching Red Heat as a kid I always wanted a Tokarev. Just him saying that the 7.62 tokarev was better than .44 mag. Since then I have wanted one. Wow I didn't realize it is very close to a 1911 yet with a few and very few differences.
Great job. Obviously many aspects of that gun's design were copied directly from John Moses Browning's M1911, but some were simplified presumably for ease of manufacturing. I have two CZ-52s that shoot the same caliber. I like them a lot. Thanks for the video.

Fedor Tokarev saw a great design and by chambering the FN m1903 in 7.62x25 gave it big boost in power, and then streamlined production by removing some unnecessary bits from the m1903 (the retention hoop, for example) and changing some controls to ones used more often in the soviet era.

I’ve seen many fakes but this seems very legitimate, first of the the grip, usually rubber or wood did not rust, only a bit dirty, second I saw no green rust on this, only colors steel would rust. Another thing is the process is very well done. Very professional!
If this was truly from 1930, wouldn't there be much more pitting? To me it seems like he rusted it chemically.
@@ethylead he probably had, the barrel is completely intact, no spring was lost due to corrosion, although the exterior is in very pitiful condition
It's a fake. Firstly (as already pointed) out in order to amass that much rust (which is already suspicious) it would have had to be exposed to the elements for quite a while, so there has to be visible pitting on the steel yet there is absolutely none. Secondly it's not even a genuine TT-30 but a Norinco 636 - a Chinese clone. Fake restoration channels tend to use cheaper knock-offs of popular guns to get views without risking the loss of too much money in the process.

@@IgorRead Готов спорить, из сходств пожалуй только схема запирания, коротким ходом ствола на серьге, а остальное отличия, например модульный УСМ ТТ совершенно не похож на аналогичный у кольта, выбрасыватель совсем по другому устроен, у ТТ вообще нет предохранителей(если не считать полувзвод), а у 1911 автоматический и ручной, и даже щечки рукояти крепятся совсем иначе. ТТ гораздо больше напоминает другое творение Джона Мозеса Браунинга, а именно browning m1903, правда у того скрытый курок и жестко фиксированный ствол, в смысле тоже есть отличия

Nice job. One question, at the 2:48 mark you said that there was no round in the chamber, but you didn't move the barrel out of battery until around the 3:36 mark, how did you know there was no round in it at 2:48?
I noticed that too... He didn't know. But he could have been rather sure if he had looked at the extractor. Although, I always consider it loaded until I see an empty chamber.

You do beautiful work. when in the Army Infantry in the old days I used to clean my old 30 light machine and my BAR and M1 Garand Barrels by putting one end in hot water in the sink and used a wire cleaning brush on my rod and put scouring powder in the barrel and after a few scrubs through the barrel they would come out shiny. Then i ran gun oil though with a cloth pad. Always passed inspection in the Arms Room. That pistol reminds me of my old colt 45 cal which was a piece of junk same with the 45 cal Grease gun.
What did you do to make it look like it was in such bad shape at the start of the video ? I saw no pitting which you would not boil away . And with all that rust it would have very deep pitting

@@bondy5806 Это было в начале 2010-х, как сейчас - не знаю. ТТ выдавали начкарам, у стрелков были АК пятидесятых годов. Старожилы рассказывали, что в 90-х там вообще были ППШ на вооружении, но сам не видел.

Wow! your talented! The gun looks like brand new. I refinished a slide on a used S & W 469 which i bought from a local gun shop, it turned out decent but nothing like your end results. I sanded it for over an hour then used the Birchwood Super Blue.

Здесь снято 2 пистолета. Один ржавый, а другой нет
Это обратная съемка, в конце показал оригинальный вид пистолета , потом кислотой залил Макарова что бы ржавчина появилась, тут и воронение стали сьело, потом разборка и очистка. Все такие видосы одинаковы.

У меня был такой и в таком же состоянии. Мне было 16 лет, 1966 год г Великие Луки. Не стрелял, т. к. боёк был короткий. Друг, молодой токарь не мог выточить новый, тонкий конец гнулся на станке. Не хватало или опыта, или технологии. Не помню, куда его дел потом.
Здравствуйте вам очень сильно повезло всвоё время ТТ это легендарный пистолет.
Интеллекта не хватило. Изготавливается элементарно, этот пистолет в целом массово изготавливался даже недоношенными слесарями и станочниками. Качество образцов выпущенных в период Второй Мировой просто конченное из-за того что его женщины и дети выстругивали.

To disassemble the barrel from the slide. Next time push down on the plunger and rotate the bushing to the side. That allows you to release the spring and guide rod at the barrel end so you don't bend the spring excessively and cause damage.
I thought it was a bit " slipshod",. he should have polished with a bit more care. Block sanded, to keep crisp edges. I speak from years of experience.
He also deemed it empty as soon as be removed the slide. Unfortunately, the barrel and main spring was still in place, obscuring the chamber view. Had there been a round in that chamber, he wouldn't have known until he removed the main spring and barrel

Well, the only place where you can test guns in some places are shooting ranges and in some countries is not legal to have weapons, so kinda not possible.

Great video. FYI, this is TT33 not TT30. in 33 they introduced removable trigger assembly, no backstrap and rib-style barrel locking. So you got better gun!
Maybe it's just me but I'd want a wooden surface to hammer the pieces back together since I did just refinish the gun.

Thank you for this excellent video. I have a Zastava m57 made in 1968 that I absolutely love. I had it cerakoted because it is one of my favorite handguns right up there with the CZ52, but it's always refreshing to see someone make something incredible out of simple processes. There is no ”surface rust”. If the rust is on the surface it has been painted on. This is a fake restoration.

Good job! Nice restoration! But this is not TT-30 gun, there is TT-33 version. Strike's pin is not original for this gun, perforated pins not use in tokarev guns. This gun too strange...it has no serial numbers, the original does not have a screw on the magazine lock button
