Reeves is a genius. He showed the death of Bruce's parents without showing the death of Bruce's parents. It's in his eyes when he's staring at the Mayor's son. When i saw that in theaters, I knew we were in for something on a different level.
That's the thing people fail to understand. It's like they don't want Batman to be Bruce Wayne because they think it lessens the impact. When in actuality it was meant to show that pain and suffering knows no class and a rich kid would be just as traumatized and sad as a poor kid for the same reason. Watching their parents get murdered.

Let me tell you… I experienced this movie when the theater was completely empty. Best way to experience this movie for me because I was all alone in the theater I felt more ambience to this film. It adds to the gothic vibe.

Personally I thought it was excellent and then took a nose dive once Riddler was revealed. As a reader of the batman comics since the 80s, I can tell you every batman movie has been based off the comics. There are soo many years and issues of batman. You can find every possible batman, and the grest thing about it is that batman will connect with different people. It's what makes comics so amazing. Batman isn't just a depressed sad adult in everyone.
This is one of the best uses of a song in film; the whole opening sequence leading up to it is superbly done! It really sets the tone for this detective noir version of Batman.

The background of this scene is very good. Bruce sees the boy whose family was murdered, he sees himself reflected in that boy. Batman knows exactly what's going on in his head. And the music surrounds you in that sad context.
Perhaps my favorite batman of all time, the synposis, the emotion, the darkness. This whole scene you can feel the heaviness on the dark knights shoulders. Doesnt hurt they picked a masterpiece of a song to go with the emotion

Man, I went into this movie not knowing what my expectations should've been. Wondering what going back to standalone movies after the DCEU would be like. I walked out of that theater thinking Matt Reeves is 200% on par with Christopher Nolan in a single movie.

Sparkly vampires aside I think Pattinson did fine as a younger less experienced Bruce Wayne trying to find his way in a Gotham he left and now doesn't recognize.
This film did a perfect job of portraying Cold and darkness the song doesn’t have any ups and down in tone or emotion it stays one tone that’s emotionless and the actor did an amazing job of looking cold and empty he barely showed any emotions he showed a little interest towards the kid that shared a similar past to him giving him a look but still no change in emotion overall this is the Batman that played his role did his job perfectly. The movie theme was played perfectly, Cold, Dark, and empty
3:43 Just look at the way he slowly turns to the TV almost almost as soon as his parents murder was brought up. You can legit see in his eyes that it still haunts him, gives him nightmares, & more importantly, he still hasn't gotten over it yet. That is why Bruce Wayne became Batman. To ensure no other kid goes through what he went through. This was so well done. I hope they make another movie out of this. We NEED more dark themed Batman movies like this.

Everything changed when I sat through and watched it. The cinematography is second to none, and Something in The Way is by far the best song choice I have every heard for a scene like this in this movie.
When I watched this scene in theaters, I finally made the commitment that week to take a motorcycle course and and get my license. No regrets, and I am happy to be a rider on the road. All in all, great scene. Fantastic movie.
With Pattinson mentioning he wanted a Robin character in this series, I wouldn’t be surprise if the Robin had similarities to Jason Todd’s Robin/Red Hood

Before I saw the Batman movie, during Pandemic I took advantage of seeing at least Pattinson's three movies, which let me know how talented he was as an actor. As a result, his Batman's performance amazed me as much as the whole cast, frankly I always knew that Robert was going to make history playing The Batman's role.
Honestly, this man's 'Twilight' days are long behind him now, and it's frustrating to see that, when he was announced as Batman, people were still hung up on it! Robert Pattinson has more than proved himself that with Good Time, The Lighthouse, Tenet, The Devil All The Time and now The Batman that he is one of the most talented actors working today!

Christian Bale sounded more like Rorschach when he was batman, I much prefer Pattinsons take.
Before I saw the Batman movie, during Pandemic I took advantage of seeing at least Pattinson's three movies, which let me know how talented he was as an actor. As a result, his Batman's performance amazed me as much as the whole cast, frankly I always knew that Robert was going to make history playing The Batman's role.
Honestly, this man's 'Twilight' days are long behind him now, and it's frustrating to see that, when he was announced as Batman, people were still hung up on it!
Robert Pattinson has more than proved himself that with Good Time, The Lighthouse, Tenet, The Devil All The Time and now The Batman that he is one of the most talented actors working today!
