Haha that’s is the best way to play it! You play multiple rounds so you get a second chance if you didn’t do as well the first time!

Nice over view of this fun game. My playing partners and I have an ongoing debate about one of the game rules you might be able to clarify. The rules do not specifically state when you can lay down your initial pair of cards. Do you need to draw your initial card pair? Or can you draw a card off the discard pile to create a match for your initial pair to start? Thanks

Thank you! That is a great question. We have always played that you can use a card from the draw pile to make your set. Now there are two parts of the rules I will reference to answer this question as best as I can.
      1) In the section for making a pair with the discard pile, it says the set is "placed on the top of your asset pile in that same turn." Now I don't think that specifically means it can't be the bottom set, I just think it was worded in a way that can be confusing. But, that could be where some confusion comes from.
      2) There are 4 actions you can take. One of them is to make a pair from the discard pile. However, one of the other actions is to challenge and defend. This action has a whole additional section explaining about it and specifically mentions that you have to "have at least one set of assets in you own stack" before you can challenge or defend.
Because the rules go far and explicitly say that you must have at least one pair to challenge and defend, but don't for the making a pair with the discard pile, I would say that you can pick up from the discard pile to help make your first set. Most importantly I would recommend that however you decide to play the rule, make the decision and then be consistent to be fair to everyone during the game.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks! And yeah they’re a great little store, they’re located right in front of Cinemark. Every game you’ve covered on your channel is something they have in stock, on top of a ton of unique board games and tabletop RPGs.

? when trying to steal a par can you draw from the draw pile to continue to help or once you draw from the draw pile does that end your turn

You only draw at the end of your turn. So, when trying to steal a pair, you can go back and forth for as long as either of you has cards and wants to play them. Once that ends, then you both draw. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if you have any follow up questions. I hope you have a great day!!
