The inspiration I draw from your videos is endless. I bought a 6,000 sf coastal plantation home on the Gulf of Mexico in Texas and had NOTHING: No furniture, dishes, lighting, art, rugs. Starting from scratch, I used your design elements continuously buying from estate sales, craigslist and resale shops. You would never know it! Wanted Out of Africa meets Hemingway and used your British Colonial, Island Style and Faded Beauty with a splash of Conservatory and created a masterpiece! A few modern pieces added depth to our all white interior. I watch your videos over & over as I tackle a new areas of our home. Thank you!

Many good, great ideas...a fixed income might still be able to reach a splash of what you shared in our own homes..I believe it can be done, if we got the motivation, style and the inspiration to make those spot changes here and there in our own homes no matter how modest we live. 👍

The use of trays has to be my favorite ingredient especially in living rooms. They make excellent gifts when thanking someone for their hospitality. They also make for quick decluttering when unexpected guests arrive.

I love the mood board idea , I’m redoing our family room cuz all our furniture and accessories , even curtains were destroyed . I have switched my ideas so many times I am giving myself stress ! Got our main peices of furniture from Facebook marketplace and our local antique / vintage store . I can not believe I have had such great luck finding antiques , pretty much pristine peices and some family heirlooms . But I need one more peice if furniture . We are renters so this is a great video . Have always done our own decorating but now I started with a bare pallet and I can get really creative ….

You put so much work into your videos and it shows. Very high quality content. My only disagreement is that I don't want my home to have a "hotel-like feel." I feel the trend to make a home look overly curated and hotel-like takes away the necessary personality to make a house a home.

It is quite disappointing that many homes, while personal, seem soulless and uninviting. Without a thought through unique style, most homes do not create peace of mind. They tend to be cluttered, non-functional, and styleless. A home is the largest investment you will ever make. Create something showing that.

I believe a home should be a place where what our soul desires is manifested through cohesiveness and variety of color, furniture placement, textures, patterns, and accessories. It should function as we live, without displaying the often haphazard stress we experience daily. I wish we would all budget for a professional organizer, home cleaner, and designer, the way we budget for a large mortgage, medical expenses, and other needless things we bring into our homes that do not reflect our values. A home is a haven. A home is rest. A clean and tidy home is essential to health and wellness. I commend you for your unique design style and willingness to share it.

I'm using one arm due to stroke. So I'm not catching things I want to see. But in this video you have purple flowers ìn two room. Can you tell me what they are. I'd love to use in my decor. There were in beginning of this video.

Nope sorry. I did the Marie Kondo method of paring down, and it was the worst mistake ever. I got rid of items I can never replace. And once I was in a smaller place, I was unhappy. I’ve upsized since, and am replacing some possessions. There are NO design rules. Just live with what you love. Maximalism is the new trend.

Don’t forget the importance of the right musical layer in the home (baroque will do) as well as the right fragrance from essential oils to scented candies. Most interior designers neglect the soothing role of soft ambient music and aromatic therapy in the home space. Two very important layers of interior design. Love that 16” MacBook too. 😍

You can find similar items in places like TJ Maxx, a local pottery store, online etc...all affordable. Ive even seen stores that sell beautiful material or give away extra pieces. The larger pieces will be where the money goes, but it'll last. I hope this helps.

Since you asked, how about the new things coming to the design world. Color trends, designated spaces and not so many really wide open spaces which has no separations at all. How about the fact that built-ins are becoming more important. Clean looking kitchens that cover refrigerator doors and so many other changes? Could it be that some of these things be what she was referring to when she said she was expecting more?
