flowers! I grab an inexpensive bouquet from the grocery store then forage stems from my outdoor shrubs or trees and it really amps up what would be a small arrangement! Q: I have plain, beige carpeting in my living room. How do you feel about placing a large rug on top of carpet? Is that weird? :/
I was surprised to see a comment of someone suggesting you do walk throughs as opposed to photo inserts - I love the pics - they're one of my favorite parts of your videos - I always pause and drink them in and absorb so much inspiration from the pictures in your videos as well as some of the other designer videos I watch - I like both walk throughs - and pics, but personally prefer the pics because you get to see so many other designs - please don't cut down on them! 🙂
Why surprised?? Its video. You can present with motion pictures ... Not pictures. And its easier to see what she talking baout without she having to talk so much .
@@pegaga1618 I explained why right in my comment - Seems like it's a matter of preference - no big deal - I enjoy the video, but prefer the still shots
Loved every single tip; all great, but faves would be the tonal color palette (with one slight, subtle color) and cut the clutter - so very important. I’m so glad I found your channel. You are lovely and wonderful to listen to!
Great video! I’d add one more. On a recent Linda Vater video she talked about the addition of background music in her home, especially when having guests in. I never had thought about it and I agree!
Your lighting guide was right on time! We’re building a new home and I’ve been big time stressing over lighting! Your guide really helped me to make final decisions that I’m very happy with!
Such great tips. And...I have always thought about the outdoor shutters not looking authentic, but this is the first time I've heard a designer address that. Thanks so much -- I feel better. : ))
Am a new subscriber of your channel and I’m really impressed on your tips on how to have a lux design. Very informative and I learned a lot. Great job😊
I liked, Lighting it is so important. It can make a room feel warm and inviting or feel like you are in a clinical setting. Walked into a friends house that had only over head lighting and I had to walk out of the room. Could not stand it. I will be getting your print out on that if I can find how to. Also, I’ve never watched your videos until this one but I’ll be subscribing. I’m not a designer but would love to be. I’m always decluttering and take pride in wanting my house pretty and inviting. Thanks for all your knowledge shared with enthusiasm for decorating, it shows. Linda from Pensacola, Fl
Well, thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you find other videos on our channel that you enjoy! Creating a home to love is so important and it’s my passion! Happy Sunday ❤️❤️
Hi Ashley, all the tips are great, but the lighting, artwork, and wood beam/built-ins/and the wainscotting is my favorites. I like those homes that you showed us, and I hope that in the future, you will be my home's interior design person! This is my first view of your channel, and I am a new fan! Thanks for this content.
Really great video! It covered almost everything. I subscribed so I can get more from you. Now, I"ll check out the lighting guide, which I'm wondering about for my new home. Thanks!
I love your videos and presentation-so helpful and inspiring! Thanks so much for your awesome content and the lighting guide is so right on time! I absolutely adore your hair and clothing style too! Can you please do a video on your hair and skincare?! You are beautiful 😍 ❤
Honestly both are great! I kind of depends on the other pieces you have in the space. If you have more angular lines in your room, go arched top to soften it up. Or if the room has loads of soft textures like pillows, bedding or drapery, you could do a square top to add some structure!
Loved them all, not sure about those types of kitchen runners which seem like living room style. Curious as to what city/state these homes are in-such character!
I was just looking up what paint colour would go best with my brown couch and I saw your video. The chairs are very similar in colour. I loved the tips! Can you please tell me what the paint colour you used with your brown chairs is? Also, I love beams too, but my ceilings are not high. Can this still be done?
Ashley, this was very helpful. I want to make a change to my house, organic modern and to incorporate more earth tones. I loved all the content. What is the name of the color on your walls in your house? I’m looking to change and I loved that clean look.
loved the video.. what should be the length and width of nightstand lamps if it is by queen or king beds again this Dress you are wearing is so pretty share the brand and website if you can
It kind of depends on if you're using the bedside lamps as reading lamps, etc. I have very large ones on my bedside chests, but the chests are quite large as well, so the lamps are the right scale. Thanks on the dress!!! It's from a small boutique in North Carolina, the brand is a sustainable British brand called "Newday Originals"
Add a strip of wood behind the art that's the same depth as the surrounding molding, then hammer in the hanging hardware to the added strip of wood and you'll be good to go!!!
I’m done with all the extra pillows. To sit on sofa they have to be removed. On bed they all have to come off 🤷♀️ Loved the video n u looked very pretty.
Overall content is informative. The photographic examples should also include ordinary and modest homes / interiors. For example my home has low ceilings. Beams, medallions and rosettes would look pretentious. Shiplap is outdated, at least in Australia. Tonal palettes can look designer but often lack personality. Spaces look like hotel rooms. Great for a short stay but boring and impersonal for longer durations. In the kitchen, draw pulls that have open ends are a hazard. They look elegant but are impractical. Clothing gets snared on them and toddlers / preschoolers bump into them causing injury.
I love your suggestions - any chance you have the source for that incredible huge art photo of children playing in a plaza water spray somewhere in Europe? I would buy that in a heartbeat, but I don't see a link in the comments or on your site. Thanks!
@ashleychilders Love your tips and that you are from Arkansas! Also would love to get copy of "2023 Lighting Guide" but I signed up twice and have not received anything. Can you help?
I find the wall moulding a nightmare to keep clean. And living in Africa, it’s an ideal place for spiders to breed. Especially in the the ones with thin vertical groves.
It depends on the size of your room, but I like to either position the rug perpendicular under the bed where it starts after the bedside chests and it peeks out from the end of the bed. Or if there’s a seating grouping at the end of the bed, I like for it to start halfway down the bed and be completely under the seating grouping. Just whatever feels best in the space!
I don't agree with the light temperature thing. The same type of lighting needs to be the same but different types of lights can have different temperatures for different tasks. Now if you can afford led lights with variable temps great, but otherwise different temps in different types of fixtures works great.
Just a suggestion... it'll be nicer if you walk trough this designs instead of so many pictures with so much information so fast...you are hands on on trends and ideas though!
Good information although not much original content. I'm following you but personally found your speed and volume off-putting. A lower keyed and sincere delivery would be more inviting;.my sincere opinion and mean no offense.
I’m honestly in love with every single one of these designer tips! They all can make such an impact in your home. What’s everyone’s favorite?

What's the rule for rugs under beds?

Curated styling and cutting the clutter yeah.
