As a run heavy user, this post was very informative! In addition to your tips, I always ID the MIKE. The guards definitely single him out and i find myself breaking for big runs often. I Also Sub a TE into the FB slot for better run blocking. In Full house, Pistol and I-Form sets, you will see more yards rushing. The highlighting tackle i never knew though. I'll implement this asap! SUBBED.

You just solved a mystery that has plagued me for years when playing against one of my best friends. I noticed him using the targeted icon and doubling the DT but never thought it made that much difference but you just proved that it did. Thank you a thousand times for this bro.
I'm not certain but pretty sure I've seen direct from EA programmers that ID Mike and Double team is only for pass plays, same with slide the line.. people still do it as a psychological habit thinking it makes a difference.. most run plays the NT right in front of the center especially will automatically get double teamed by one of one of the guards & Center.. inside zone is a play where they double team then once that player is moved/controlled enough whoever is less involved with the double team moves forward to the next zone assignment.. go into practice mode and mess around with those assignments and you'll see on pass plays you can basically leave an unassigned guy free to the QB because you double teamed someone next to him. can't on run plays.

When you click on your offensive lineman that's for impact blocking. You can do it on just about every player except the quarterback and the player whose running the ball. Great video
I like switching my oline. I'll take the 2 best run blockers and put them next to each then run. Sometimes even if they don't have a high run block rating if they have a high awareness it still helps a lot. I notice sometimes when they're low rating in awareness they won't even block a defender
I know you say Cover 3 is worst against the run, but whenever I’ve struggled to run against someone, they are usually in a cover 3. They must be making some adjustments.
I missed out on getting gronk and his vanguard since I didn't play season 3. Who's the next best FB/TE blocker? I've heard mercedes Lewis "big dog aka" has vanguard. But he's a 96 and his speed looks slow at 90 (awr 96, Rbk 95, Impact block 96, has vanguard) . Maybe csonka 98 Team captain card (95spd, 98 rblk, 97 Impact block, no vanguard) Or Just a blocking TE like 98 George Kittle (spd 96, awr 93, Rbk 95, Impact block 96, no vanguard) - if you have a suggestion please let me know what you think is best after gronkowski for blocking, thanks!
Been playing madden since madden 2002 and in the past I'd say 2016 through 2018 maybe 2019 I was always ranked in top 100 on online h2h I quit playing until about a month ago and used doubking and Id but didn't know anything about clicking oline for better blocks I wonder why that it helps

The point of the example was to show I had the ability to hit the correct hole because I didn’t hold down the right trigger. Ofcourse you can hold it down and put yourself in the right hole. This seldom happens though because the same hole doesn’t often open up twice in a row.

If......and this is a big if, you shut my run down, I got some PA that will torch you with anyone I throw to. To completely shut me down requires some buck zero man blitzes which will undoubtedly leave me with a mismatch against you with a good te or HB out the backfield. Bro, im not bragging but telling you facts. Like clockwork my opponents always say the same shit, 1. bro play wierd 2. u a pussy for running 3. anyone can run 5. you chewing the clock 6. stop running! WHY? everyone knows shit broke in madden. Seriously, if you know how to let your holes develope and then actually pick the right hole, it is HARD to stop the run. Top opponets will pinch dl and LB's in and really try to clog the middle, then i just audible to the stretch and run to the week side (like this vid said). There is one defense that gives me fits though. the 43 wide cov 0 blitz man. this is when i have to actually pass the ball with play action.

@@mar4380 ID the Mike is a mystery. Pass protection mechanics and double team definitely affect the run.

Does the "click on" offensive lineman work with madden 24 on Xbox s?

Best RB abilities for a run heavy player? Does shifting the blocks left or right work or matter?
I think they might matter but I don’t think they actually do anything to positively affect the run.

That’s pretty weird. They’re probably overcommitting to the run w their user or have lots of people in the box.

I’ve doubled team people before in dollar and they still don’t double team them. That shit pisses me off
They won’t actually double team a lot of the time but it will enhance your blocking.

oh and mugging the gaps with your user mlb can mess up b;locking assignments for an inside run but if i see you mugging, audible to the stretch.
