Was my local from the 1980s onwards, was very busy and popular when Brian ran it 90s / 2000s ... used to get very busy for lunches etc also. Great times in this boozer, would have never imagined it's future. Keep up the vids, really interesting stuff!
Spent hours with friends and family in there from going for tea on Sundays as a kid to drinking from 17 onwards. Me and a mate even got paid for clearing shite from upstairs and the garden for a few days once. Got some brilliant memories from there and met people that are great friends to this day.
Was in there watching an England match in 2019, was hardly anyone in there... the more modern Talbot pub up the road took all its trade when it opened, use them or lose them.
So sad to see the state of this place. It was a smashing pub, full of character and served good food and ales. All boarded up now. Someone started doing renovations then that's seemingly ground to a halt.
Genuinely sad to see this inside now, wanted to cry a little bit. Visited this place many a time from 06-19 and spent plenty of time looking at the pictures you found when they were on the walls. Even worked in here for a bit. Cracking video clarky! Cheers for bringing back the memories.
Cracking little mooch this Clarky ....Looked modern out side but quite an old building really shame ya couldnt get over to the other owd pics but thanks for this explore mate....regards Frank & Lee...
old boozers are some of the most paranormally active places I've come across - all those centuries of emotions, fights, weddings, funerals murders! .....mint video, thanks!👌
@@redtobertshateshandles Wow Ted, so it sounds like generations of your family lived there! I'm glad the spirit that grabbed you was a well meaning one! I love hearing people's personal histories....
Thanks Clarky, happy to get my Urban Collective fix :) Hope you have enjoyed a few pints of Guinness since the pubs re-opened over there....Looking forward to the next one as always...Much love x
I cycled past this many times on my way to the canal and even just before lockdown Im sure it was still operating as I saw a man sitting outside round the back , I didnt realise it had come to this - not far from where I live
I had a meal in there in 2017. Sat near the window to the very right of the building in your thumbnail. Had no idea that it was that run down and it was quite nice inside. I'm wondering if they ran out of cash in a renovation or maybe a really expensive building fault forced them to close. Sad times
A local restaurant bought it to open another establishment. Unfortunately the lockdown put a stop to work and because they were forced to close, the money ran out. Absolutely gutted to see it left in this state, it was such a lovely pub in its day
Thanks Clarky for another great vlog, I don't think that I'd been in this pub but you never know as I'd been in lots of them over the years, what a shame that it's got to this state and then it looks like it's the end. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Another top video bud, had my Grandads wake in there back in 2009 and was a decent pub, still drive past regularly and often wondered what it looked like inside so thanks for that 😂
I've watched so many of your videos now. I first came across this channel when I was looking at buile hill park videos on youtube and it was really nostalgic, which I love coz I'm from the area. So i checked out most of your other stuff on the channel and it's always great stuff. I do have to commend you on your camera technique. Not sure if anyone else has, but It's obviously all hand held and you never rush your shots. You always let the viewers get a great look at everything, so many youtubers don't. Its really patient and done with care. Full marks mate.
Little belter. Shame to see another hub of the community be taken away yet again. A desperate sign of the times indeed. Nice work JC, though I do wish you lads had hard hats, and a hi viz vest removes any suspicion, and gets you in anywhere. God bless, Ken.
Brother I’m 150 films in and only ever been caught allready knowing it could happen ;) as for the hard hats I do actually agree lol thanks for coming back time and time again brother I fear with the Agenda in full swing we have put work cut out...

I had no idea it had closed as I don’t live there now so haven’t been past it for some time but surely it can’t have been closed for very long? What a shame
Another great video Clarky it's a shame a lot of the old pubs are sadly disseapring . I dranked in a few of them when I came home for visits after we moved in 1978. But I have been sober now for 25 years or So. Keep up the great work.
@@TheUrbanCollectiveWeFilmIt I too have been sober 1 day at a time (since 1980), when one asks how long I have been sober, I tell them what time I woke up that day; its not about how long one has or has not been sober, its all about the choices I make today, or even minutes.

In 1971 after Leigh’s famous win the rugby league cup was brought there and I ran down Wigan Road holding it (aged 15)
Who knew they'd win it again in 2023?!
They won it when I was young and then they won it again when I was old! Not a problem that Man City fans experience!
My band played there on the very final closing night. Sept 6th 2019. I heard the site was going to become an elderly people's home.
