Vocal mistake pal the history at the begining said it all lol. You cant get em all right out in the field m8 especially when youve just mooched miles and your freezing your nuts off lol. Just a slip o the tongue on location really...Trust me I know my history. Anyway I think its quite a shame when the older generation only focus on your mistakes instead of the possitives. And I mean that with the upmost respect man, anyway take care M8 all the best.
Me n my mate used to find places to smoke a cheeky cig as teenagers. We used go up rucks which leads to various places we was in the field where the ROC post is didnt know it was there at the time but i remember the vent box n farm house in background. Lovin your vids mate :)
I like the history you included at the start regarding the corps. Many think they were simply manning the cold war posts, but their history goes way back before that. The pipe sticking up that you asked about. That is the fixed survey meter, it was where they passed a probe up from the hole in the roof to measure radioactivity. The plate next to the hatch was the mounting point for the ground zero indecator.. there is sometimes a small pipe coming out that lead to the bomb power indicator, they are usually missing. The thing you thought might be a thermostat is a timer switch. The lighting was powered by a battery and they use a timer to prevent them from being left on. Sometimes at these locations, you can also find remains of the WWII post. They are usually a concrete hut on stilts that has a section with the roof missing. They were used for spotting and identifying aircraft to determine if they were a friend or foe. You're right, I have no idea why people want to trash these places. Brilliant explore!
Thanks for the info did I do a bit of research after the vid, to be honest, I usually like to go in clueless as I feel it makes it more exciting ya know. And as for the history's etc I want my video's to just be the raw reality of it ya know none of this we found human remains or we saw a ghost bollocks lol. Fair enough if people believe and there are rumours I will mention it but I like to keep my video's raw with real history man. Im not on a money making journey here m8 it's just a hobby that I like to share so I don't follow the typical oversaturated UA-cam traditions that I quite frankly cannot bear to watch lol! Anywy as usual thanks for the feedback and good luck on your adventures m8!
Really enjoyed the explore jason. History of places buildings etc, should be preserved. Sadly, seems these days when folk get wind of these places, it all gets ruined. At least you’ve done your keepfit for the day, climbing down holes. Lol.
The end of the ground based observer corps was when" highline" started, and other friendly countries started to share tracking information. Unfortunately, post brexit, this has become so much smaller.
Brilliant video, really enjoyed watching. My local ROC post is privately owned and has been lovingly restored and is locked. It is opened on certain days throughout the year for people to visit :-)
Yes mate, i found and did my first one last week. Yeah there is lots of the 70's 80s / 90s 2000's and on ? say no more lol. That was a good INTRO/ samples too and a good explore as always ;) .
Brilliant explore shame the kids have taken over joint. Love how you aimed that comment about slowing down when you excited at me it made me lol keep up the good work I always look forward to watching you videos. No nonce, no clip bait just straight to the point love it 😊 Say hi to you dad for me you 2 are just funny. The bit when he climbed over the wire fence I thought to myself I hope that wire fence don’t flick in his knackers lol 😂
Pmsl yeah m8 I did aim it at you lol also me Dad's knackers are safe thank god! Thank you for the feedback on the no nonce...Erm I think you meant nonsense? lol or clickbait comment too, that does actually mean awefull lot because that is the exact intention m8 so nice one we just want the Rawness off we wxperienced and are made up to hear that that comes across. Much appreciated m8 nice one.
Someone posted on Facebook sayin the hatch was open they took a photo of it open i never knew it was there til that post n i lived in Atherton 45 years, i saw pics of inside it on another exploring page ranging from around 2010 -2017 the place was not known to the vandals then ,hate that shit no need wreck a place
Nice one again clarky What a shame for that place times are changing youngsters dont understand about the olden days Make a good man cave though Nice 1 👍
Will never understand the mentality of vandalism and mindless disregard for a piece of history...If I thought that my son or daughter for that fact had been part of any vandalism or disrespect I probably wouldn't be responsible for my actions towards them, they could still go down there though and leave it as they found it..
1952 WW2 ??????? Back to school for you young man .
