INTO THE MIND OF MADNESS - Abandoned Rainhill Psychiatric Hospital - The Scott Clinic
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 гру 2024
- Into the mind of Madness - The abandoned Scott Clinic in Rainhill was a medium secure forensic psychiatry unit that housed numerous patients still involved with the criminal justice system. Now abandoned the hospital has suffered from arson and vandalism and is now a post apocalyptic carcass ripe for the Urban Explorer. With its dark and foreboding corridors, every turn showcased some truly atmospheric & cinematic opportunities something akin to my very own Silent Hill. Let's take a peek inside to explore this post apocalyptic time capsule before all that's left are the echoes of the past...
Massive shout out to Urban souls urban exploring page for the location you made the right decision giving it to me.

Top class Clarky, your the master of suspense. Mintly Brilliance!!!!
Thank you very much indeed brother I'm glad you think that because that is the intention. Sometimes the scariest films are the ones that make you terrify yourself!
I once worked at the Scott Clinic, sad to see it in such a state nowadays.
@@stevelawrence754 how long ago about 10 years or so?
Very interesting! I used to work in a place like this (a medium secure hospital) one of the best places I’ve ever worked in, such a safe place to work in. They always say it’s much safer working in forensic mental health than any other mental health setting (we have much higher staff to patient ratio) Usually most medium secure units may look scary on the outside (high fences/lots of cctv) but on the inside we try to make it as homely as possible for our service users cause most if not all may spend years and years inside this kind of hospital.
Cool thanks very much for your insight mate!
Fascinating explore!
Cool place eh
It's a shame to see this place in such a state, I used to work here, it closed down because merseycare built a new facility in maghul, and emalgemated with an LD ward in Wales, this place had planned to close for a long time because it wasnt fit for purpose.
There was some serious people here but also just some very unwell people who hadn't committed any crimes.
It's a cool video, but the facts arnt great, we called them rooms not cells, it was generally a nice place to work most days.
Yeah if you watch the vid full I do question whether they were cells or not pal and yeah I also said it would have been nice too especially the staff of you look over on our community tab you'll see some pics from when it was open including the last signing off sheet. All the best mate. And remember I'm doing these films for effect to scare the viewers like a film I do respect what you guys do and the place itself and what it stood for.
Absolutely spot on exploration, feels like Christmas has come early with the new vids, cheers.
I did this place recently too, such an eerie place. Great video
Cheers dude
Welcome back clarky
Cheers brother I appreciate your viewership man!
I've finally watched all of it,wow, the music,is top class for the video, and now your bk,and on form, getter better and better, when you said it's a mirror of the other side I noticed, boys and girls side, pink rooms and blue, but the boys side, the corridor when you first entered looked scary as hell, bet that place is fantastic for a night time, now that I would try,I've already googled the place, and put on my save list, for when I want to go,but glad your bk,and I know we're going to get good content👌👌👌👌👌
@@soniaisherwood5211 Plenty of it mate and last night I finished part two ;)
Rainhill hospital was huge, it used to cover a few sites, it now has houses built on the sites! As a kid I remember hearing the sirens going and you would know a patient had tried to or had escaped! I had an uncle who died in the hospital years ago! RIP🙏✝️. He was in for his mental health as most on the other sites patients were, not all of the patients including my uncle were criminals, they were purely there because of their mental health!
I know they weren't all criminals mate. Thanks very much for the history and for watching the film I really appreciate it.
@@TheUrbanCollectiveWeFilmIt❤️❤️

Hi Clarky, what a creepy place, although I would love to see it (not alone lol) My Grandma was born there, the place (Rainhill) not the asylum hahaha.. I have really missed your commentary, you do it so well and always keeps my interest no matter what you film. Thanks and so good to have you back... Much love from New Zealand x
Thanks very much Karen I really appreciate that m8 it's good to know because I do worry about filming and cinematics and that but the reality is people just like hearing me waffling on lol everyone tells me but I still just can't believe it lol
@@TheUrbanCollectiveWeFilmIt Well you better start believing because it's true LOL. You love what you do and I can feel that the emotions are real through the screen, it's almost like being there with you... Keep doing what you are doing...please x
10:10 when you said "ello? ........'ello" I fucking shit meself. That was scary.
I used to work in the mental health wards at the MRI as a domestic assistant while I was at uni. They had a high, medium and low security wing and when I worked the high security ward I had to be locked in.
I met a patient in there called David Vaughn, 60s pop artist and father of Sadie Frost. The next night I was on the medium security ward and he'd been transfered there. He said, "Joseph's gonna take me for a walk." And the medical staff said Okay. We walked up and down Wilmslow Rd telling me John Lennon anecdotes because he knew him in the 60s. He was being released the next day and he said, "Come and meet me at Night and Day Café, my son's band are doing a gig. I went and then we went for an after show party at his gaff in Ashton-under-Lyne. He had paintings all over because it was his studio as well. Google "David Vaughn paintings." I'm not gonna say it's the mind of madness but they're very trippy.
@@IIJOSEPHXII Wow what a cool story man and yeah you shit yourself I had to bin my duds pmfsl. Il have a look at the David Vaughn stuff now pal.
Very 'atmospheric'.

Lol cheers brother that's a much better compliment than the terry Christian one I got B4 lol
@TheUrbanCollectiveWeFilmIt 🤣🤣
Thanks Clarky, for this great investigation mate and really well done. It's a shame that what looks like a really well built and kitted out place had been left to be destroyed, I think that the place was mis-managed and the staff were probably misguided maybe. The chap that'd killed his parents, had he been let out of there after murdering one of them and killed the other or had he escaped? Take care and all the best. Stevie
@@StevesRepairs Let out I believe pal and then after he did his Mum he popped downstairs for a round of scrabble!
Mint vid as always, great find (love these abandoned places), and im amazed at how much of a shithole it is in such a short space of time.
Yeah same here pal and it's weird I actually watched the wicker man the other night for the 50th time lol

@@TheUrbanCollectiveWeFilmIt 16mm (is that the tiny bit of grain in the look), I reckon it would suit well with urban exploring

@mancjosh1676 Ahh right enjoy...
When prisoners became so unwell with their mental health, we would send them here where we would jokingly say, they'd give them a bath and a haircut and send them back.

Love the video Clarkey, people have no idea what these places are like and how appalling the care is.
Sure they had Sutcliffe or another infamous inmate here one time. Madness to see how it is now 😮

Incorrect intro!!!!! Misinformation. It was closed down due to it not being uptodatebinnits facilities and the trust wanted to keep the secure facilities, low, medium, and high together in Maghull. Please correct it!!!!! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Do you not worry about asbestos in these abandoned buildings? I would as it killed my dad.

I can’t believe this closed few year ago just seen the Covid stickers.
This is close to where I live in st Helen’s. I think back in the 70s there was a unit in there called the Windsor clinic for alcoholic rehabilitation.
This place is up the road from us 10mins in a car fascinating to see inside thanks for the tour x
