Hey Mitch, thanks for the video. I am also considering switching the hub out along with a rival cassette for my Aethos too. Which cassette do you currently have on your Aethos? I'm wondering if there would be any issue coming from my main cassette (10-33T) to the rival on the training (10-30T)
Yeah, no problem. If you’re using AXS you can define the new cassette in the app when you switch but it often doesn’t matter. This is especially true if you’re not shifting and just using ERG mode.
Thanks for the video! Like in your video, my cassette and the ring to fix the freehub end flush. I have a 142 mm thru axle, but for that I think the ring has to stand out a little further than the cassette, otherwise the smallest pinion will touch the frame before I can secure my bike on the trainer. But there aren't any adapters for the drive side left I would have to attach. Did someone have the same problem?
Do use the grease. I tried to swap mine but the new hub got stuck half way because of the friction,. It was quite difficult to remove. With grease it slid on with ease
great video. when i switch mine fro 11 to 12 speed I can not get it to go through all the cogs only 10 of then and higher power cogs chains falls off . Any ideas ?
FYI, technically it's and XDR driver installed here in your video (not XD). Also, the new nut supplied with the driver is specifically made for XDR (and shorter than the Shimano /SRAM 10/11 one you took off in the video.) They are not interchangeable so short with xdr, long one with Shimano /SRAM 10/11. Good video, though!
Thanks very much. I’m expecting a canyon Speedmax sram AXS 12 speed. I run an 11 speed with normal skewer as per your set up at the start of your video. So I’ll do exactly what you did! Thanks
Thanks for this video! It's well produced and the explanations are clear, but I got stuck (literally) when trying to remove the freehub of my Kickr Core. Is there anything I need to do right after removing the nut? It doesn't slide right out like yours: ua-cam.com/video/zKJR2HkEYWQ/v-deo.html Thanks for any help!
Excellent "how to" video! I successfully swapped the hub on my Wahoo to the 12speed hub in no time! Cheers!!!
Great news Kevin!
Your wife is a smart mechanic. I happily work with a mechanics who keeps the parts organized!😊
Thanks 👍

No issues on that conversion. I have a 10-28T on the trainer currently

Thank you for sharing this super helpful video for those cyclists using SRAM system( including me).
Glad it was helpful!

Same problem for me... Did you find a solution? 🤔
Same problem! Did you have a solution?
Any idea why I am having gearing issues? It either won't down shift, or it would skip gears. Im running a Rival Groupo
Was the install done correctly? It should be extremely close to your bikes shifting when done correctly. Perhaps a spacer was forgotten?
Do you think you have to use proper Wahoo piece or might any Xdr freehub fit there? Wahoo doesn’t ship to Brasil 😕
Wahoo freehub only unfortunately.
Is the XDR freehub proprietary to Wahoo or can I use any XDR freehub?
For the Wahoo Kickr, you need their XDR adapter.
Do use the grease. I tried to swap mine but the new hub got stuck half way because of the friction,. It was quite difficult to remove. With grease it slid on with ease
Ya that’s fine.
can i use a regular xdr freehub removed from the wheel and old end nut?
Nope.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels fcking wahoo 😡

Either a spacing issue, or a derailleur adjustment issue by the sounds of things. Did you put in the correct end cap?
If you’re switching to shimano 12 speed, do you need to switch to the other free hub?
Nope! Same freehub

Awesome thanks! You can also run it as an XD Driver with the spacer I believe.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Yessir!
Does this work for any 12 speed Sram cassette/set up?
XD/XDR 😃
Was that freehub a thru axle? Sorry for dumb question!
Yes, they essentially all are. Little adapter would bush them down to standard 9mm if that makes sense

@@sagsdothedu awesome. You’ll just need those little adapters for it and you’ll be off to the races.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels appreciate your video. Very clear. Ride on🚴
Great video. Thank you!
No problem 😉
how about as? it is same?
I don't understand the question?
Thank you!
Any time.
thanks for help 🤝
Any time. If there’s anything else I can help with, let me know 😊
How tight should tight the cassette when you put it back in?
Just until it doesnt wiggle?
Is that enough?
Should be snug. Not over tightened, not loose.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels any tips to know how snug is snug?
It’s hard to explain without a torque wrench. But it should feel tight… and obviously don’t strip it 😂
@@MitchOnTwoWheels what is torque value for tightening?
Nice
Thanks 🙏

Just gently turn it while back pedaling. It may help disengage the pawls. Don’t be surprised if they fall off. Easy to fix.
