Great video, Informative & to the point. If I had to nitpick I would ask you to make the texts on those cards a little larger and maybe have the names of the platforms, written on the screen, but other than that, the clip was fabulous, so I subscribed to Envado through your affiliate link, subscibed to your channel with all notifications .... Keep up the good work Ginger Dog.

A longer piece, but one that is soooooooo helpful for those of us who have to rely on stick footage of any kind. Appreciate the fact that you broke it down into different media i.e. music, photo, video, etc. as well as price/subscription fees/rates, etc. I have learned from personal and professional experience as well the same thing you did (feel free to use that as scientific data that "...2 out of 2 video/filmmakers agree" }:-) and that is 1. it ain't cheap, 2. more than 1 source is typically needed, 3. the first point 1. just got doubled. Very practical, fun and well done.

FYI: Adobe Stock now has videos, audio, images, motion graphics, etc. now. Pretty much one stop shopping now. Not to mention Adobe Firefly which is an AI text to image so you can create your own custom stock photos when needed.

Nice. Last time I checked, they still didn't have After Effects templates. Maybe they've updated. They're still tones more expensive than the competition too especially with stock video.

Excellent video, really appreciate such a thorough breakdown of each service. Personally for music I used Artlist for a year and was disappointed with how few songs worked for my content but found their licensing to be the best out there (perpetual license that worked for all platforms and for client work). After listening to music on Adobe Stock its clear how great it is in terms of quality and variety but the price is absolutely eye watering.

Great video, thanks so much! Basically the only thing I'm looking for is video to add as b-roll. Usually video of places. I had been using storyblocks for over a year because it was the only one I had heard of (thanks to their youtube sponsorships). Their selection is pretty poor but also their search function is AWFUL. For example, I live in the City of Queretaro in Mexico. I'll search something like "queretaro" and get zero results. But if instead I search for "queretaro mexico" I'll get some results. A more specific search term OFTEN gets more results, it's weird.
I subscribed to Envato earlier today before watching this video and it's like 100X better than storyblocks. Their library is so much larger and the search function actually works like it should.
I also subscribed to artlist but cancelled after I realized their search function doesn't work either. For example, I'll search "Queretaro" and it will show me results from the Mexican cities of Oaxaca and Merida instead.
I discovered your video when I was trying to decide between a more premium video service to really level up my intros and also to fill those gaps with hard-to-find footage.
I´m trying to decide between Shutterstock, Pond 5, Adobe Stock.
For $200/mo, Shutterstock is going to get me 75 videos, whereas Adobe Stock only gets me 25 for the same price. And Pond5 pricing is similar to Adobe Stock.
Adobe Stock has some awesome footage that I really want, but Shutterstock has lots of good stuff too.
One problem with shutterstock, I was looking at their license and their standard license, which is the one included in that $200/mo package, only includes audiences of up to 500,000. I'm confused about this, does this mean that if a video of mine gets over 500k views, my license isn't valid? Or if my channel hits 500k subs my licenses will no longer be valid? I'm not sure and I don't want to be punished for having a successful video. And if I purchase a license today when my channel is less than 500k subs, I want to be able to use that clip again and again regardless of how many subs I have in the future.

With your long time experience using Envato, do you think there could be any risk using an item from their platform since they don't have indemnification (contrary to the other 3) ?

    • @ginger_dog
      @ginger_dog  2 роки тому +2

I may need you to give me a specific scenario for your question just to clarify. I will say I have never had any issues with using any file I downloaded from their platform except for music. I have posted pieces using all kinds of files (video, video placeholders, post production templates, photos, graphics, music, etc.) on public websites, public social media, etc. as have my clients. Never had any issues.
That said, the only time there have been issues has been with music as I outline in the video. I recommend checking the box that says "Excludes Content ID" and that way you'll never run into problems with copyrights. It's confusing because you are allowed to use the music with Content ID, you just can't monetize it unless the creator allows it. So I avoid the confusion and check that box. Personally, I mostly use Shutterstock for music now. For more on music, check out my video here: ua-cam.com/video/lRtYbw_R0x4/v-deo.html
Hope that answers your question. Let me know if you need something more specific.

@@ginger_dog Thank you for your detailed answer. I was thinking more about the photos. For example, I once saw a photo of the Brussel Atomium. The monument is protected by copyrights so it shouldn't be on Envato. You need the permission from the owners and also to pay a fee to be able to use the image of the Atomium. So, I'm wondering, what if I used this image and got a fine or a lawsuit by the owners of the Atomium ? Since there is no indemnification in the contract with Envato, I'm wondering what would happen in this case. I mean, it would be incredible to pay by yourself in such case, when you already pay for a service like Envato.
I saw a few other copyrighted images on Envato.
