In this episode of "we speak time," our guest is Erica, also known as the "Omegawatchlover" on Instagram. Erica is a civil engineer from the State of California and is still in her early twenties! I also started my watch journey at a young age, but my collection at the time was nowhere comparable to what Erica will share with us in this video. She will be our first female guest, and I am excited to share her collection and watch stories with you guys.

The Certina watch is engraved with 全心全意. It is Chinese. It literally means full heart and full mind, which means fully engaged.

I am a strange Timex Only collector and I'm so obsessed with the Brand, I built a mini museum dedicated to their amazing Quartz and Automatic watches. I have Timex Quartz watches that are older than you and keep better time then many high-end mechanical watches While I respect your opinion, I do think you are being short cited by referring to them as soulless. Timex democratized watches for the everyman and for that I'm forever grateful. Watch collecting does not have to have snob appeal to enjoy them.

I’m vintage watch collector for years now from pateks vc ap to certina seiko longines, I don’t get the hate on quartz really there still vintage elegant watches .. love my credors to death
Main thing i hate about Mechanical is the service cost,they realy add up on a collection.I would not say i hate mechanical just in this day and age mechanical are like antiques realy. Your watches are Beautiful I enjoyed seeing them.Unfortunitly due to costs i can only collect Quartz,even those are becoming Antique to,as people get there time mostly from cell phones,shame realy.
That's why it comes with a one-year warranty when someone buys an Omega from me. When that expires, it will ONLY cost them $100 plus shipping each time they return it for a regular maintenance service. This way, my clients will never have to worry about expensive future services or have difficulty finding a reliable watchmaker. Vintage quartz is usually not repairable once the coil or circuit is gone. And modern quartz, most watchmakers don't bother to service them but instead buy a whole new movement and just swap with the old one. Now the watch is no longer original unless the watchmaker finds a way to swap the movement plate from the original over to the new replacement movement. And if the watch is a Cartier quartz, the service will cost much more than a regular mechanical watch.
@@TimelessHistoryChannel With 10 watches to service that comes to $1000,when 10 quartz need new batterys it comes to $20,not to mention there much more accurate time keepers.Depends how deep your pocket is realy.
@@DEFENDER-lx2hs Replacing a battery is something a mechanical watch does not need to go through, so it will never need to pay the $20. And whether you own a mechanical watch or quartz, the manual will ask that you have it serviced every 3-5 years. So eventually, down the line, your quartz watch will also require full service. Then depending on the brand of your watch, the price will vary for the service job. Try sending in a Cartier quartz for a service and see if it costs $100 or less. But if you're comparing it to a quartz watch for under $500, you can buy a nice mechanical Swatch for under $500 and never have to worry about spending $20 to replace a battery. Don't get me wrong, I am not telling you not to own quartz. That is your choice. But sometimes, you need to appreciate what others consider acceptable to them as well. 😁
