Man, have I got some 50 cent pieces you would like to see.
About 25 years ago when I was about 10 my parents used to own a shop. Every day I would sit at the counter sorting through 50 cent coins. I managed to collect many different types and tbh I'm so proud of myself for having held onto until now.. always fun to pull em out to show random guests who come by to visit us. 😊
Forgot to mention from Australia too.
I’m sure you will have some good ones there.
Thankyou for this very interesting
I have a number of the 1966, round 50 cent coins. They ended up in my possession after being hoarded by three family members in days gone by. They're certainly novel and God only knows what I'm going to do with them.
Given I've had them in a drawer for so many years, they're likely to end up with whomever goes through my stuff when I fall off my twig.
I love the Federation Coins too, I have most of these, even have the 1966 one too., surprised in this lot your missing the 1982 Commonweath Games, that's a favourite along with the 1981 Prince of Wales and Lady Dianna. Love your video and happy to subscribe. Always in the look out in the change too,
I always enjoy your videos Michael. Your enthusiasm for our numismatics is contagious mate. I’ll be picking up some coin lists today. Cheers.
Thanks for your feedback Matt. Good luck with your coin searches. 👍🏼
The round 50c are my faves and I definitely have heaps from the 70s to. 50c coins are definitely my favourite.❤
Yes the 50c coins are some of my favourites too.
Thank you for the video. I pulled out my collection of 50c coins and they range in years from 1973 to 2020. Be interesting to look up the value of them now.
I used to work in n retail and loved noodling on whilst at work. Scored a heap of 93 and 97s.
Very handy information.
Thanks Wisey. Appreciate it. 👍🏼
Hi Michael
. Always iñterest in your coin explanations.
Thanks
Alice

i have my mothers coin collection, theres coins from everywhere, and she dated them all ect, ive got a feeling i have some worth quite a bit, i think most of those 50's are in the collection.thanks mate.
Many years ago when I worked in a local store, this woman came in for some smokes. She was that desperate for a ciggy, she paid with 2 round 50 cent pieces... and yes, I absolutely swapped them out and still have them to this day.
I love fifty cents they look amazing they are a good looking coin l think
Super
Cheers so much 😊
I'm a taxi driver and have started collecting ❤
What about the Diana and Charles 50c coin?
I didn't see the 1981 Prince Charles and Diana Coin, but great video mate, thank you very much.
Interesting bro, my mums been collecting 50c pieces for DECADES and has a lot of these. I’ll show the ol’chook this . Cheers
My nan did the same. I ended up with all of them. I have heaps to go through 1 day, she collected them from 1966 on. I find myself still doing the same even now! ❤️
@@BH_tradie yeah mine too. From the round ones to today she’s got them. She would’ve had more but one of my (b***h) sisters bloody well stole the collection back in the 80’s and spent a lot of them on lollies . Lucky back in those days the shop keeper knew my mother and alerted her about the heist.
Mums still angry to this very day.
@@redherring9497 love it! My nan passed away 32 years ago and left me her collection of all the round ones and heaps of the current shape. I kinda just kept on from there. Nan left me 532 of the 1966 round coins aye. Miss her so much! ❤️🥹
I've got a shite load of the round ones from 1966, excellent condition, unsure if they've been circulated or not..
Does anybody else feel sad that the picture of Lizzy ages as the years go on hahaha
I’m thinking coins will be very y sought after when we no longer have cash.
I have the 1966 fifty cent coin and most of the ones showed in the video can you tell me where can I take them to get them velued I'm in Melbourne Vic
You can search on eBay and filter your search to sold items to see what they have been selling for. Then match the condition of your coin with one that has sold to get a fair idea on what someone is willing to pay.
You could take them to a coin dealer near to where you live although you have to remember they are businesses with costs and need to make a profit so their values might be lower.
@@coincollectinganddetecting I don't do eBay or internet I'm not a internet person but thank you for your reply I'll see what I can do
Ohwow, I have several round 50's and many of the others. My kids when younger raided and spent a lot of my 50 cent coin collection so I lost a lot of them.
Unfortunate about your kids spending some of them but at least you have the round 50s ✅
i recently found a 50 cent with a mum dad child and dog on the front dated 1994
Is there a 33 penny /halfpenny , over stamping the second 3 as a 2 was original , and not many got thru before the error was realised , but not to waste overstamped , hence overstamping , is that the year please , had so many , star notes , oh my gord
Hey Micheal, this is great, thank you.
Wondering though, do you know much about $1 & $2 notes. I have 10 consecutive serial numbers, uncirculated. Any idea how popular or what these would be worth?
Cheers
It depends on the year and the letters before the serial number of the notes?
@@ChuckyMcNubbin72 looks like Jonston & stone??
I have quite a few round one's hidden away
A Aussie 20 cent fits a USA vending machine as a USA 50 cent. 😂
I had about 30 round ones. Took them to the coin shop and got about $150 for them. That’s the problem with coins, when you want to sell them you get nothing like what you expect.
A recent selling price range on eBay is $15-$28 each.
Coin Dealers have costs and need to make a profit so their prices will naturally be lower.
If you figure out how to sell things yourself on sites like eBay you can achieve better prices.
I have the round 50c coin I have 5 of them
Double bar is also on the 1966 round 50c
👍🏼 And the 1993 50c.
@@coincollectinganddetecting really, that I would really like to see, I have the '79 & '80 in ms64 graded from pcgs.
I think I did ok. My round 50 cent pieces got 7.50 dollars when I sold them. About 40 years ago.
Yup it's amazing. Every now and then I look up the value and it's surprising they escalated so much in recent years. ❤️
I didn't see the Charles and Dianna fifty cent piece
How can l send a pic of this coin
I have a 50 cent coin with double pressed rims and lettering and the year. I have not seen anything similar to the one i have
Nice 👍🏼
I have the 2002 one I’m 14
I have a fifty cent coin with two big circles and very raised up don’t know why but
I have quite a collection of 50 cent pieces also about 15 $2 coins with the 3 markings on them how much are they worth and where do l sell them the $2 coins ive seen are for big money it would come in very handy to be ablevto sell at the right price 19 68 $2 coins
You can sell coins on eBay.

Where can I buy a coin book to collect my 50c collection ?
You can buy coin albums from Renniks. VST also do albums with backing sheets.
I just save any 50 cent coins that have 2nd effigy. Lower mintage in the 70s and 80s.
Wat about the 1982 Olympic 50cent coin and the 1994 family coin what are these one’s going for????
They made a lot of those. I only track the values of the coins they didn’t make many of.
i have 50 cent 1980
I have a 1982 Commonwealth Games Hexagon 50c piece, the price on ebay varies greatly could you tell me how much it is worth please?
When you search it on eBay filter your search to ‘sold items’ to see what they are actually selling for.
People can list coins for whatever they want but it doesn’t mean people are buying them.
@@coincollectinganddetecting Thankyou!
Hi Michael.
I'm interested in buying your coin sheets are they a hard copy sent to me.
Thanks Matt.

Disappoint you didn't have the double head coins, but so are you. Love the 50cent coins collected them as a kid and still do. Normally love your work but why did you not include Captain Cook, Lady Diana, W.Dunlop, volunteers, Australia Day and a few others, is it only bc of mintage and little value?
Mainly mintage. Those are higher mintage coins so a bit more common. Having said that I do have the Captain Cook coin on my coin value lists.
What is a captain Cook fifty cent coin worth
$2-$11.

God bless yah bro , like pulling teeth to find out honest information , 34/35 commemorative florin , know that off the top of your head cheers
Unfortunately not across the pre decimal coins like I am the decimal sorry.
@coincollectinganddetecting OK I understand now , so you start on the 14 Feb 1966 , cool , your a font of information , never thought of it like , post penny's and pounds. Thanx
I have a $5 coin in my drawer, is it valuable?
Unfortunately not as valuable as I think they should be. There are a few different years and design but generally $10-$20 is a selling price range.
Someone gave me nine round fifty cent 1966 coins for a packet of cigarettes
Good exchange. 👍🏼

2018 is 5.4 million ?
Correct ✅
Why do they try to sell these for thousands on eBay don’t get it
Money laundering
A fool and his money are easily parted.
eBay sucks now
They're only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. Circulated coins the value of the coin!
@@tom44-gfleaBay always sacked, just now people on mass now know
So they're all worthless unless you have over a million of them
No
I've got over 200 round 66 50 C coins.
I only have 1, but it is in Uncirculated condition.
532 round coins, 150 in mint condition, and another 1013 of other various dates. Uncirculated coin is pretty awesome though mate! The round 50c has always been my favourite. Never be for sale no matter what they're worth. ❤️
