- I don't really like the outdoors. I would rather stay in my cabin all the time if I could. Especially during the winter.
This is not a how-to video.
The method I'm using is not necessarily the right one. Nowadays, you can find out the right way to do things by searching on Google. If you only want results, that's fine too.
But for me, the most important thing is not whether a method is right or wrong, but to experience firsthand why it succeeds or fails.
All work is done personally and at my own risk.

My grandpa Bob had a wooden tool box like yours. He built his house back in 1930s and could improvise and fix most things. He played harmonica too.
I admire your self sufficiency and building/crafting skills.
My Dad also and I still have several of his wooden tool boxes, which I am fiercely hanging on to, the boys want to throw them away !!! And, my Dad played the harmonica as well as any professional today. I'm 81 and still remember those days...my Dad was fantastic at repurposing old items...and carefully preserving whatever he managed to purchase...money to buy another one was long coming !!!

Winter is not a good time to be outside in nature. Especially when everything is frozen. You can also see this in the wild animals and wild birds. For them, winter means fighting for survival. However, sometimes we have to go outside. To work, to walk the dog or to take out the garbage. You have created a cozy and creative home for yourself. It's no wonder that you prefer to spend the dark and cold season indoors. I have to go out to work, buy groceries, feed the wild birds and check on the hedgehogs. The latter sometimes wake up in winter and need help. In a few weeks everything will be looking better. Our energy increases with the longer days and the winder blues goes away. Stay healthy, enjoy your creativity, the silence and your pets 🙂

The only thing I would have done differently with your stool would have been to countersink the screws… and put in dowels to finish it off…

Brucke, you really need a table saw. There are videos on YT that show how to actually make a stand to convert your saw to a table saw when you need one. It will be safer than sawing toward you hand holding the board. It makes me cringe when I see you doing just that.
