Denny, your dad was one of a kind. Truly, he was an American Treasure. I wish I could have met him. He always seemed so approachable despite the fact he was a the top of the music world. Thank you for sharing more videos of TT!
To the one man that made playing music fun for me he showed me how not to take it so serious but be serious and he showed me how to be the best that I could be with love always Tommy your friend
TT - an American treasure. Use every trick you learn as many times you can without sounding like it's the only thing you know and quote as many songs you know. That seemed to be the mantra Tommy lived by; and successfully, I might add.
Hey hipster cool guy, arbiter of classiness. It sounds you are being disrespectful of people who play classical music. Of people who aren't like you, or who don't do whatever it is you do, the way you do it. "Smackin' down." Hey hipster Dale Turner- what kind of language is that? You are nothing like Tedesco.. If you are such a great musician, a working musician like Tedesco, you know as in all genres across the board many if not most classical musicians are playing through chronic tendon pain, often with nerve damage firing up and down the arms that never gets better, working in lousy orchestras with crappy benefits or no benefits, sometimes teaching kids who don't care, doing one-off recordings with no royalties--all to just try and make a living doing what they love, presumably just like you: making music. But you are the one who sounds like a snob, and you reveal yourself in a public forum for eternity to be pretty mean.
Holy shit this guy is good. I want to be that good, I would estimate at 21 years old, I’m at about 60% of his skill level. I can’t connect my ideas as fluidly as he does. It just flows out of him.
An absolute phenomenon!!!
One of a kind and what a sense of humour!! Thank you Tommy Tedesco RIP.
Such class and pure enjoyment all these people gave us and few people knew who they were and all they did.
Best teacher I ever had at M.I. He even bought me lunch once. Great guy ! Great seminars. 💫 He played so great every time.
I was at MI in 1987. TT at student orientation was one of the high points.

I wonder how many licks I've learned over the years that I thought were somebody else's when they were really Tommy Tedesco licks?

He was so amazing !!
Happy birthday TT! You are sorely missed.
Hearing a bit of Nature Boy in the middle of the song.
Me too
That had to be his take on Nature Boy at around 3:56. It is a great fantasia on a theme, amazingly played.
Thanks, Denny, for sharing with us. I'm gonna use that pick and shovel comment, just you watch. Really marvelous performance by a classical gentleman.
HaPpY BiRtHdAy!!! Smackin' down snobs, for eternity! THE BEST! Class!!!

Ole! Started out Spanish and finished off with jazzy chords
Why do you use a pick? I don't have a shovel! Classic👏🏿😂🎸
Some of the notes in the middle sounded like TT improvised around 'Nature Boy' ua-cam.com/video/ZpF1J9FnD4E/v-deo.html
A great guitarist and a pretty good stand up..or sit down as the case may be. Thanks for sharing Denny.
I love it!!...
You gotta love this guy!!
What a great player. I heard Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy" in his song.
I love the story Glen Campbell shared about the sheet music onlyTT could do that !!

Talented and hilarious!
Genius.

Legend
Wow! It's been 8 months!
Note his left thumb is not on the base strings, just saying! Great sounds.
Did TT deftly palm the pick and play classical style tremolo with his thumb and fingers? Anyone know how he did that?
He did it with ease!
Learn to play chord tones
at around the 4 minute mark Tommy looked a lot like Mr. Miyagi playing the guitar to me. not shovel Daniel Son, pick.
Tommy T giving the "bum's rush" to all puritans and snobs ?
Comedian or guitarist? Guitarist or comedian? Exactly!
What a faker. I say that with total admiration.
No classical guitar in any of this, just Spanish flamenco
Okay?
I believe the point he was making was that Spanish, Flamenco or whatever… He plays what fits the song and that’s why he’s been so successful.
