  • The Most Recorded Guitar Player In History. Have you ever heard of Tommy Tedesco? I bet quite a few haven't. Tommy did over 7000 recording sessions in his career as a Hollywood session artist with the Wrecking Crew.

    Very well done video. His guitar work defined a generation of television radio productions. Nice tribute.

    I'm 63 and have been playing the gitfiddle since the early to mid-70's (I still play 3 or 4 times per week). I remember reading Tommy's columns in Guitar Player magazine in the later 70's where he described in detail particular sessions on which he worked. The gig, the music, the money. They were great columns. I would love to read these again if anybody has a source. Thanks for the video Joe.

      I just commented the same above. Apparently, he could even read fly sh*t. I love the story about Glen Campbell turning his chart upside down and Tommy played it perfectly.

    Tommy has a great story. Started playing guitar in his early 20's and still became a phenomenal sight reader. Would correct any errors or bad notes on the fly as he played. Could read music and pretty much got all the acoustic/flamenco session parts he was that good....

    What about Howard Roberts?

  • @catfishcooler1566
    @catfishcooler1566 15 днів тому +3

    FALSE! Tommy Todesco thought he was the most recorded guitarist and happily lied about it to promote himself. He didn't realize guys like HAROLD BRADLEY in Nashville were regularly recording 20 songs a day, 5 days a week for decades. Todesco's output wasn't even close. Stop promoting this myth.

      The producers have other plans. Some band don’t actually do well in the studio. There’s more of this going on than most realize. That might make a good video.

      Time is money. Wrecking Crew, Funk Brothers, Muscle Shoals, etc. could produce three or four finished tracks in one three hour session. The established bands? Not even close to that kind of productivity.
