@@giorgialeksandria6665 I’m thinking the same thing. I have a F15 but I’ve just ordered a set of F85 callipers and I’ll eventually get rotors to match. I want to put this caliper instead.
Rear calipers are usually small because as a car brakes the weight is shifted to the front wheels as the front end squats. Manufacturers know a giant caliper on the back wont make much of a difference in braking distance so they put a small one which is all that's really needed
I have an order on the way for my X6m. The one I ordered doesn't come with the pads, but comes with the break lines. It's great to see a demonstration before I fit them.
Mainly for cosmetics. However I think there’s a 10% improvement. It feel like it takes less effort on the pedal when coming to a stop. Could be placebo but I waited a week or so and I have to re-train my foot a little better because it brakes more efficiently.
Hello great video. To make your next brake bleeding go faster there is a brake bleeding canister that you attach to your master brake cylinder where you can pressurize the system then bleed the brakes.
BMW uses stretch bolts which means one-time use. You can choose to reuse them but it is unsafe and they can snap. Also. Do yourself a favor and use jackstands. Your family and your car will thank you.
@@eddiemcars Preciate it. Looks like a decent deal since it’s on sale as well. I did want to ask if you noticed any change in the brake bias from front to rear with the new setup. Any other notables that you’d like to share after having a little more seat time with it? Aesthetically it definitely completes the package from a braking standpoint.
Amazing video been contemplating on getting the upgraded rear calipers and brakes i actually been in contact with the provider on Bimmerpost GREAT LOOK!!! Question what is your wheel setup are those 325-30-21& 275-40-21 ? Tires look amazing on those wheels
Searched the comments to see if anyone else knew. They’re usually that small because I an opposed piston style caliper is simply too expensive. It’s from a Porsche because they’re quarter million dollar cars once optioned easy
Hello Ed....im interested of upgrading my rear brakes as well. Just wonder if you can hook me where you get those bigger rear brakes please. Appreciate it much and thanks for the great video.
But Edward, us fellow northern CA subscribers want to see your lovely wife pressing the brake pedal. Are you ex-USAF? Force, not pressure. I always hit Steel mating surfaces with Noxudol so they won't rust again and Loctite PST on threading fittings. The background music is unnecessary and distracting. Interesting that you had burns from the brake fluid. I never have had that.
Thanks for the tips and the feedback! Yes. prior USAF FWIW I chose music the because it was just my breathing you could hear. I wanted to distract from that.
I changed my wife's. .b m w badges to. P.o.s. piece of shit. And it has drilled and slotted roters. Don't need brakes, when there always broke. Good luck.
Excellent video, ill be sending a link to it with all my x5m kits, pretty much a detailed DIY guide right there 👍👍👍 glad you like your set up !!!!
Tony, whats the fee on this kit?
@@rickqueen65 1100 is the price, with pads, hardware, brackets, everything plug and play 👍
hi tony! is this rear brake kit only for BMW X5M F85 or for 30d F15 as well?

Yeah I understand it. It still doesn’t change how I feel about it!
Going for the looks as well

Thanks for this video - I contacted Tony for a F15 upgrade kit
I have the exact same X5M spec as you. Good looking car!
Love your vids! Great job! Really good 😃
Thank you!
So you just changed them for cosmetic reasons? Braking performance isn't any better?

Great Video as ever! So glad you’ve posted this as I’m currently getting my kit sorted with Tony 👍🏻
Also when are you uploading the Brake Bleeding video? 🙌🏼
Hello great video. To make your next brake bleeding go faster there is a brake bleeding canister that you attach to your master brake cylinder where you can pressurize the system then bleed the brakes.
Thank you! That’s exactly what I used. I didn’t show it in the video due to it already being long.
I will have a separate video explaining that!

Looks good man great video. I emailed Tony haven’t heard back yet. Anxious to get my hands on them for my F86
i just got a X6 last week and the size of the rear caliper is disrespectful!!
Nice video..safety tip, remove watch and ring when working on cars, if something catches that jewelry, you could be injured.
Thank you for the good tips!
Those rims look awesomely which rims are those to get it ( model or link ) also about the breaks caliper &rotor where I can get it
Thanks
Email me at dentprotony@gmail.com i will get you a set 😁
Which headlamp are you using? Have a link? Looks like it provides ample lighting. Great job on the how-to btw.
Thanks. I saw an ad on fb. Decided to give it try, the light is bright and it’s comfortable to wear. Hopefully it will last long!

Thanks. The front and rear tire sizes are 285/35/21 and 325/30/21 respectively.
How many miles are on the rotors and did you ever replace them?

Forgot to say opposed piston caliper with an electronic parking brake
I know it’s cost saving. The electronic parking brake is in the drum so that can’t be it.
Awesome video sir!! Does the old bracket fits with the new caliper? tks
New caliper comes with brackets to fit with your factory spindle/set up
E what’s the cost of the new calipers?
1100 and that includes brackets, braided lines, z23 ceramic pads, all new hardware as well
Nice job man!
Would it be applicable for my 2011 BMW X6 E71? Hopefully you advise me
I would shoot him an email. I know he’s done some stuff the the E70.

Redline please contact me, i might be able to make it happen
Send me or Ed an email (in description) and ill send you my number 👍
Has anyone seen the price of the replacement pads? Not to mention the limited options.
Pad choice is extremely vast, price goes from 25 all the way to 250, carbon ceramic pads in the kit are 50 bucks by powerstop
Ed, boy are you late to this game, other 5M owners along with myself, have done this upgrade long ago.
Late to the game. Story of my life. Lol
So do you have use PORSCHE sensor for the rear.
No, just reuse stock sensor
please can you tel me the rear Brake Caliper's Number? is this caliper from Panamera or Cayenne? thanks
I don’t have that information.
Where do I get them to buy. The calipers.
Email me at dentprotony@gmail.com ill hook you up with a set 👍
My G82 suffers from the same bs rear brake calipers, and I have the carbon ceramics. Does he have CCB rear calipers, for the 22 in Gold?
What?! Even with CCB? That sucks!
I would email him to ask if he has anything that could fit!
@@eddiemcars yeah, I have the same rear calipers. Crazy.
What pads does it use from what cars
I believe it’s a Porsche Panamera rear brakes from 2015.
I’m going to contact you on your email so you can send me his info I need that !!!
hey. what calipers are these? part number?
I’m not sure of the part number. I believe they are from a Porsche Panamera. You’ll have to contact the person who retrofit them for complete details.
20.A249.05
Manufacturer Part Number:
970352425
Why? Because of weight transfer. Upgrading to larger calipers without adjusting the brake bias is like wearing boots in the shower: Pointless
Brake bias difference is negligible, porsche caliper piston area is less than 10% larger overall. We got this 😊
Rear Calliperi isn’t look good
