      Thankyou Tonya, I am glad that I help with the ideas. The bird was a fun project to do, when using Apoxie Sculpt make sure you wear gloves at all times and follow the safety directions. Appreciate your comment and thanks so much for your support and for watching as well. :)

    Another nice little project for Christmas presents I reckon, Peter. To gild the Lily, as the saying goes, one could mosaic the back too but that might be overkill on a small piece like that maybe!

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  22 дні тому

      Yes I think they would make great presents, the back could be done but I think it would be a little heavy looking. Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment

    If you use a sculped epoxy for a small project like yours, I didn't know you would still need epoxy grout after the project is done. I remember when you made a charm necklace, and I thought you just used sculped epoxy. I thought your project turned out nice. I made a mosaic bird a while ago. I'm saving this video for the future birds I make. Thank you from the USA.

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  22 дні тому +1

      Thankou so much, The epoxy grout is best when using ball chain especially of this size, its just so much easier to clean up in between the balls because the epoxy sculpt is quite thick. Yes I like saving the videos to refer back to as well. Thanks for watching and appreciate your comment. :)

    • @diamondgirl5299

      Double thank you from the US. Just started mosaicing and was wondering why my ball/chain didn’t stick. More supplies.

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  21 день тому

      @@diamondgirl5299 Why didn't your ball chain stick, what did you use? I was referring to the grouting differences in my previous comment. :)

    • @diamondgirl5299

      @@TreasuryRoadI meant ball/chain didn’t stay on substrate with Weldbond glue. I’m still new and practicing. Love the bird you made.

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  20 днів тому +1

      Thankyou very much. Although Weldbond is widely used in creating mosaics by a lot of people, ball chain has very little surface area this makes it easier for the Weldbond to let go especially when grouting or comes in contact with moisture, Weldbond will return back to its original state. Look for a glue that is clear but water resistant or waterproof, and not toxic. :)

    This is so beautiful!! I’ve tried to grind crockery before, and I must be doing something wrong - my grinder chips off little bits of the design. I have a brand new Techiglass Grinder 3. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  21 день тому

      Thankyou so much. There are different grits of grinding heads or you may be pushing to hard, there are also different types of crockery and some are quite cheap and can flake or chip when grinding. If the crockery has crazing on the surface that can also cause chipping in the glaze when grinding. You could also use a hand diamond grinding pad for those times you just need to take the sharp edge off. Thanks for watching and appreciate your comment. :)
