Well, close enough to a Q2 I guess... and it's been a while since you made an articulated so..... TAKE MY MONEY!!! Also, maybe for a possible articulated locomotive candidate, (I already suggested for this one, but I don't know if you read my comment on the WM I1 Decapod promo) maybe you can make the Delaware & Hudson's J-class 4-6-6-4 Challenger? It's an interesting and beastly locomotive.. shame none survived dieselization though, and it has never been made as Trainz content like, EVER..…. 😐 Anyway, GREAT JOB AS USUAL STEVE!!
trainz 4460 productions Dude, the 3001 is NOT getting restored to operation. You probably got this information that was released in 2011, that’s like 8 years in the past mate. And please don’t change the subject.
K&L trainz takes commissions. Someone pays them X amount of money for their engine to be put into Trainz. They don’t take suggestions. Check their projects list. They have Arcade and Attica 18 up next, followed by GTW 6325. These were paid by various people who wanted fantastic designs of their engine in trainz. Anything from a simple engine to an entire consist can be included, ex the 261 project might include the excursion consist or maybe some freight cars, the L1 project might include the chessie passenger train and some conventional c&o coaches, etc. Don’t “suggest” to K&L that they should ever do anything. They won’t listen and won’t care about what you want because they have their own projects to work on, and to them it could be annoying, even. If they did take suggestions they’d be bombarded with foamers.
Never would have thought you could make a what could have been engine for the Pennsy after experimenting with the C&O T1 and N&W A, Mr. Lerro. It kinda looks like a Pennsy Q2 but that is my opinion.
Absolutely stunning! The locomotive design was more than amazing, but the entire rendition of the engine, rolling stock and scenery made this video delightful to view again and again! Very impressive!
I knew something was bound to happen today when I saw that Facebook post. It's great looking locomotive and I'll definitely put it on my list of things to buy.
I’m sure this type would’ve eventually replaced the 4-4-4-4; seeing that this type of articulated locomotive had less problems when the N&W used it, this could’ve very well been a fast freight/passenger locomotive on the PRR. Alas, one can o my dream. Maybe the railway would’ve been more successful if they adopted this design
The 2-10-4 did. PRR class T1 4-4-4-4's ran with a higher boiler pressure but lower TE than the Chessie design 2-10-4's - at the price of doubling the number of complex parts to be maintained... PRR was looking for speed and efficiency, and the way to get it with most of the designs they tried was with that 4-wheel tailing truck + large firebox -as in the Baldwin Duplex, which _wasnt_ articulated- and, of course, the large-diameter, high-speed roller bearing drivers. N&W class A's had *twice* as many _moving parts_ as the PRR J1's, but the *same* _TE per driving axle_ ...so no advantage for the 2-6-6-4 vs 2-10-4, especially with wartime draft and labor shortages in the PRR maintenance shops. Good thing Trainz doesn't have realistic maintenance costs!!
hey steve i have a suggestion of which engine you can remaster the reading t-1 now i know thats it only what 6-7 years old now it would still be really nice if you could and also the t-54 and s-3
Had this happened I do believe this locomotive would've out performed the N&W Class A and served as the PRR's trump card to keep steam going a bit longer to survive.
Now I do have a question about these tank cars I keep seeing showing up in these promo videos. Are you guys planning on releasing a freeware tank car pack or are they just custom private models made for these promotional videos for your freight locomotives?
Hello K&L i love your products and the detail that makes it look real but I have two questions. Since I have trainz 2012 i want TANE or trainz 2019. However on your website i see TANE sp2 but will it work on the new sp3 system? For my last question it also does not show it on the website but will all of your products work on trainz 2019. Thx if you are a viewer answers that have ether of the newer games.
The version on the site listed as 2012 Sp1/TANE will work on all versions of TANE, and they will also work in 2019. I haven't listed 2019 yet as compatible because the game is still in development. I learned the hard way with TANE where each update they released caused issues with my models. I'd fix them, and the next update would break them again. So i'm holding off on listing 2019 as compatible until it's a bit farther in it's development. But as of now, everything seems to work fine.
The PRR definitely went for more of a slower drag freight than a faster freight with this decision. Seeing this locomotive makes me unsure that the PRR made the right choice in the J1
J1 pulled the very last steam powered freight for the PRR in 1957, so they did end up running until the VERY end of steam....so they chose well. It's just the 2-6-6-4 would have most likely prevented the Q2 from ever being made. I guess we'll never know!
K&L Trainz very very true. I’m not a PRR guy myself but I do know the J1’s were not fast engines, and the A class from the n&w were quite swift. Seeing how everyone else was going for fast freight I’m kinda surprised they decided on a slower drag engine. Based on when the J1’s were built (1942-1943 or so), I’d still think engines like the Q2 would be an option for the PRR, but I’m not here to decide history.
A locomotive we didn't even know we wanted! Great Job, Steve!
You absolute genius, you just built a new locomotive. I'll take 20.
didn't expect this. as a star wars character once said "a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one"

@@CharlieStudios General Kenobi!
Yay new PRR and a new articulated locomotive two surprises in one. No rating system can handle this much awesome. Thank you Steve.
This is beautiful. We need to get Bachmann or Athearn on board.
Agreed!
I'm impressed, this does look like something the Pennsy would've done had they gone with the N&W A. Now what's next, a New York Central C1a Duplex?
I love these kinds of "what if" fantasy locomotives. thats so cool.

The tender of a J challenger was used by Canadian pacific as a spare aux tender in case 2816's broke.

Another great surprise well done! At least we know when the next one is due! Congrats!
Man I want to learn how to properly pull off that shaky cam. Amazing work.
Now this is what i wish existed, Im happy with you, K&L. Happy!
Now this is something out if the blue, nice work, you guys have truly outdone yourselves this time, #deadimpressed
An excellent video! Thanks so much for what might have been. The realism is beyond belief.
Awesome job Steve! Looks like you did the homework for this one! That PRR 3 Chime has such a sweet sound to it.
This is by far the best you've ever done and to me this is train model of 2019.
I always was a PRR steam fan, i never knew they used a class A in tests though!
That is a *MIGHTY* locomotive!
@Lane's Trains love the combination of Star Wars & Train References!
I keep getting amazed by your videos keep up the good work
Man I do love the PRR whistles and damn K&L nice job on something that could’ve been built but wasn’t. Fantasy
Wow, I like Steve's ideas
This would've been super awesome if this had happened! Well done!
That is a cool Fantasy locomotive! I just think that it’s an “What If” engine!
Cant wait to add it to my Railroad Roster of Steam Locomotives
That is awesome. I wish I still had my trainz 2006 disc
Indeed it is awesome.. even though you wouldn’t be able to add K&L content onto Trainz 2006
TheStrawEgg Productions yeah I wouldn’t but I had so many amazing engines downloaded like cnr 3254, n&w 600, And a few others
Great job great alternative to the c&o t1
is it just me or is his voice fantastic
If this engine was chosen, then instead of the fg1 being here it would be the j1 and and the fg1 would have been built during the early days of k&l
I love it Steve! Well done!
Very nice with the custom steam locomotive Steve.
The FG1 looks fantastic and sometimes I get confused the road numbers orders. 👍🏼
Oh, alright
We are getting close to seeing A&A 18!
This so awesome and dope man!
That thing would have been neat.😎
Can you add reading and northern 425? Please it would be a great train to add and it would go with the Reading and Northern route from jointed rail!
Very interesting concept
Quite a helluva concept!

Long live the PRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
even though it has the Pennsy three-chime, i'd still prefer the N&W's whistle, especially 1218's, considering what it's based on.
ITMCBHPBGF. Considering the J1 didn’t have a C&O hooter like C&O T1 had, I highly doubt the FG-1 would have had an N&W hooter.
Now I wander what a PM Hudson would look like
Very cool stuff. Is all the scenery/route specialty built or Trainz stock?
Whoa! That’s new!
What an absolute UNIT.

This looks eerily like the q2 locomotive
Outstanding! Did you have anyone helping on this design? Can't wait to see an electric "what if?". An all-freight JJ1 with a GG1 body!
Well done what a great fictional engine if the Pennsylvania Railroad did away with the Norfolk and Western Class A
Had this happened I do believe this locomotive would've out performed the N&W Class A and served as the PRR's trump card to keep steam going a bit longer to survive.
HoH Steve making a ( maybe idk ) custom locomotive? This is amazing! Steve you should do more if this wasn’t a commission!

Wow this is a great model
But what if the Pennsylvania railroad were allowed to build a new locomotive
Sweet model! Where’d you find the bent out of shape telephone poles?
They are from JR. They are included with the route also from their site.
i want a PRR R2 (pennsy version of an N&W J class)
I'm trying to think what would a prr 4-8-4 would be classified as?
They had a 4-8-4 Electric engine classified as an R. So steam probably would have done the same
Prr new r1 class steam engine
wow that is a cool looking steam locomotive FG1 2-6-6-4 that one didn't try out yet

However I don’t think focusing on “WHAT IF” locomotives is a good idea all the time

Can you make a c&o t1 2-10-4

Nice engine, also are the tank cars and PRR boxcars in this video custom models?
The Tanker cars are from Trainz forge’s old website and the boxcars are from the DLS I believe.
Now I do have a question about these tank cars I keep seeing showing up in these promo videos. Are you guys planning on releasing a freeware tank car pack or are they just custom private models made for these promotional videos for your freight locomotives?
Same here. I like to have a freight car pack from them. Tank cars, boxcars, stockcars, gondolas, etc. Steel and wood ones.
That was a train but much bigger than all of the PRRs steam locomotives
Some one get Alco on the phone! im putting an order for 27 of the these beauties!

COOL
Neat.
Is it normal that I have to rewrite the script and after a driver session it resets, or is it just because Im using it for Trainz 2009?
Most likely because you're using 2009. The game evolved so much in the last 10 years since that game came out.
the Chesapeake and Ohio T1 2-10-4 was built by the same company as the pere marquette
I really hope the tank cars will released for freeware.
What game is this for?
oh wait never mind
If you do another fantasy engine like this, I suggest maybe a Pennsylvania Railroad 4-8-4.
If not that, how about the Union Pacific Super 800.
Actually, Daylightrain already did that one as well.
