  • My 2004 Honda Civic failed inspection! Whomp whomp. It needs new struts and tires. I don't work on cars, but I'm going to give it my best effort to replace the struts myself.

There's a mechanic where I live, she knew ZERO about cars but her Van was leaking transmission fluid, badly! Every shop she went to quoted her $350 to $480 to replace the gasket, fluid, and screen. She couldn't afford that. So she watched several UA-cam videos and did it herself. She started fixing other things on her van after that. She eventually went to trade school, became an Aviation Mechanic, invented, and then patented several hydraulic hoses. This was on one of the local news channels here last year. What made her story even more amazing is that she was on welfare, living in public housing, and found something that she loved to do.

Fune note. When I was very young, My dad pulled over on a very busy I-75 and had me change the right rear tire. After checking, I told him it wasnt flat. He said he didnt ask if it was flat or not and to change it. When I mentioned he could have done this 'lesson' somewhere safer, he said flat tires don't care where you are, so I learned. NOW, when my little sister came around, he purchased triple AAA for her so she would ne safe....lol So I find it just cool Je does this and inspires others as well.

and whenever I see you I'm always in a dream

I don't know how atheists can believe that a very sexy very attractive beauty queen like you came from monkeys hahaha
      😄
There was a teacher who did not believe in the existence of God, he said to his students, do you see God?
the students answered no we don't see God, so the teacher said if you don't see God it means there is no God.

God started everything, and God also repeats things, and it is clear.
God is one, one God for all of us,
The universe didnt always exist science said it was not always existing, so it was created, they say it was through the big bang, and we say even that was created and initiated by God, whatever got a beginning meaning whatever was proven to not have always existed but then existed must have a creator, but whatever was not proven to have not existed before and had no beginning point has no creator, God had no beginning so has no creator, but because the universe had a beginning point it means the universe was created it means there must be a God, also the universe shows unity and diversity, there are different things, different creatures and different materials, but they are all made of particles and atoms.
God started everything, and he repeat things, and it is clear.
This life is temporary, the other is forever, either in heaven or in hell fire!
Therefore, let us all try to be good and not bad humans in life, and be kind and follow the words of God and the good teachings of his great messenger to mankind, the prophet Mohammed and his supporter imam Ali and his good pious kind descendants whom are an extension of God's messenger and his light.

A+for effort, sadly a D+ for execution. Glad you got it, but you persevered.
A few suggestions. First grab you a big chunk of cardboard to lay on. A piece big enough to slide under the area you are working on will allow you to easily slide in and out and will be warmer and more comfortable.
Next, take your time and really look at all to possible angles you can get at a bolt. There are usually multiple angles to get at a fastener. Use pipes on breaker bars for leverage or use the box end of a combo wrench on the open end to gain additional leverage on a combo wrench.
You have amazing tenacity and are an inspiration.
BTW the swivel socket is not that dangerous. Use a short swivel and a long extension with the air gun and then you are far out of any possible harm.
    Congrats!

Quick tip. Next time you don't have enough leverage on a wrench or ratchet just slip a long metal pipe over the handle and you'll be golden. Most of what you did could have been done much easier with the right tools, and you had the right tools, but didn't know. When I was a kid, I held the flashlight for my dad, and then he would let me do small things. When I went to college, I lived close to my grandpa. I would take my girlfriend's car to his house and he would hand me tools and tell me how to do it, but I did all the work. What I am saying is that it is okay to ask for pointers from a mentor. Being in my mid 50's and having been raised on a farm which required a ton of basic understandings in a menagerie of topics including automotive mechanical knowledge. While it is not ideal for a young lady with a complete zero level of knowledge to work on a car as it can be very dangerous both in the moment but also later should you do something wrong, great respect for you getting out of your comfort zone and attempting to learn something new. A far cry from most of these "modern" girls now-a-days who either want a rich man to solve all her issues or still refer to their fathers. Wow, you are toooo beautiful!!
whomever see you should believe that God is surely true
and whenever I see you I'm always in a dream
and when we wake up, we all will realize that this whole life was nothing but a dream and that only God is whats true and real.
I don't know how atheists can believe that a very sexy very attractive beauty queen like you came from monkeys hahaha
      😄
There was a teacher who did not believe in the existence of God, he said to his students, do you see God?
the students answered no we don't see God, so the teacher said if you don't see God it means there is no God.
then a smart student stood up and said to the other students hey guys can you see the teachers brain?
then the student answered no we don't see the teachers brain, the student then said the teacher is crazy he has no brain
      :0)
Shine and spread the light sunshine....

Jen, even before seeing the whole video, I was impressed by your decision to do the work yourself (with backup available, smart). Now you have more knowledge and confidence that comes with the process of doing your own work, and you're less likely to be deceived by an unscrupulous mechanic who thinks you're an easy target. Thanks for doing this, and thanks for encouraging others to do the same. I started repairing lawnmowers when I was in high school, and have done most of my own mechanic work for the past 50 years. BTW, I have five sons and one daughter, all adults now. Guess which one was most likely to help me work on his/her car. The boys apparently thought they already knew everything they needed/wanted to know, but their sister was wise enough to know better.

I love it, I just pulled my 2012 Jeep Cherokee in a few days, to change my spark plugs and cylinders, I did the passenger side but have to come back to the driver side. I managed to clean the throttle body, change out the heat intake sensor, and the map sensor, that's behind the throttle body. had a check engine light on, today I pulled it out the garage to check my results. so far I driven the Jeep, for 20 mins and checked it with the OBD scanner I got off amazon for like $30 bucks. and the light went out while testing during testing and sitting . so took it back out and driven it for another 30 minutes and no check engine light. so will be heading to emissions to check tomorrow morning.

Jen I did that job on my 2007 Honda Civic myself in 2022 and the repair can be very expensive if done by a shop and most often by that time the front shafts are leaking and need replacement and other work done such as brake fluid replacement and power steering service and coolant and transmission services so if you are willing to pay dealer you walk away paying up to $4000 that you can do yourself. Chis has the tools and the technical knowledge. You show that you are very smart because you are willing to learn and study. I'm out of work semi-retired electronics engineer with over 60 years working in government and private sector and I could teach anyone who wanted to learn and would listen to me. When I was young and learning engineering, I would find and learn from any engineer willing to teach me. Asking Chris for help and looking online for research information and videos is very smart! I like doing my own work myself because I am a very thrift minded old dutchman laughing out loud. Many people today would just trade it in and the vehicle would end up in salvage yard with the prior owner taking the financial burden of the new car and the old car expenses. Not everyone is happy with the do-it-yourself movement and trying to kill it. I like what you are doing. really outstanding work with the video editing and music and content. My video logs on my UA-cam channel are terrible without music or editing but good technical information and many tips. You dress in a way that is family friendly and my wife would find it interesting to watch. God bless you guys! Your videos are helping other people learn how to do expensive work themselves around the world. I'm binge watching your video productions for entertainment and to learn how to improve my video productions. I need to find a video nerd to teach me video production work I guess.
