    By the time you calibrate it you will need a new spool of wire, WOW!

    Do you need to do the calibration procedure on the older 211s that have just a rocker switch that changes from MiG gun to spool gun and not the dial like the newer models ? Thanks

    This is like my Canon printer using half the remaining ink up "cleaning the head" before doing the print job.

    Do you use the mig steel C25 gas setting as the video shows or do you set it to spool gun setting

    • @MillerWelders
      @MillerWelders  9 років тому +2

      +Pocono Stairman The new Millermatics have an Auto Spoolgun Detect. This means that the machine knows when there is a spoolgun connected, so it does not matter where you set the machine when setting up for spoolgun calibration. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    I have read through all my paperwork for a 150 spool connected to a 211, it doesnt make any mention of polarity, getting some bad burnback into the tip and jamming up the feed.

      I have a 211 with the 100, and I was getting the same thing and wondered about the polarity, and I couldn't find anything online about reversing the polarity.

    I am about ready to try this out with a 211 inverter and a M 150 spoolgun, thanks for the video. I was curious if there is anything you need to do to the machine when you put the standard MIG gun back in to recalibrate it?

    • @MillerWelders
      @MillerWelders  8 років тому +1

      +Chukk B That's a great question. When you are finished with the spool gun, you can simply disconnect the spool gun, reinstall the MIG gun and be ready to weld. No calibration is required for the MIG gun. Let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you.

      If would be nice if we could leave spool gun and mig gun connected in place and dual gas inputs for both purposes. But I guess that’s why you sell the multimatics huh.

      @@MillerWelders is calibration possible on 211 transformer type machine ? i get the orange temp light on start up but once i turn the dial to 10 followed by 100 i dont get the blue flashing light. i had issues with my spoolgun or machine for the first time.. any setting wouldnt weld properlly,. i figure a calibration is my best bet ?

      +Jordan Nolin-Audet Thanks for your question. The Millermatic 211 is compatible with both the Spoolmate 100 and Spoolmate 150, and spool gun calibration is recommended for both guns. Let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you.

    My Millermatic 211 autoset with MVP not only looks different from this one, but I can only go as far as getting the temperature light to blink.
    Turning the wire speed to minimum, and then to 100 has no effect.

    • @MillerWelders
      @MillerWelders  8 років тому +4

      Hi, Pat. You most likely have the previous version of the Millermatic 211. It doesn't have Auto-Set for a spool gun, so calibration would not be a part of the setup. The Owner's Manual for your machine will have installation details. If you do not have your Owner's Manual, you can search for it here: www.millerwelds.com/support/manuals-and-parts Let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you!

      Miller Welders Yeah, I figured it out and got it to work.
      And I just ordered the switch kit to convert an older Challenger 172 to run a Spoolmate.
      I was disappointed that I found nothing on doing that, but I did figure out that the 135 is very close in construction to the 172 and it should work.

    So to use the spool gun 150, you first need to calibrate it? And when it's complete you can use autoset if I'm understanding this correctly. You can put the regular mig gun, I have a m25 gun for my 211, back on and run it like normal? And the last question, when you reinstall the spool gun again, is calibration needed?

    • @MillerWelders
      @MillerWelders  8 років тому +1

      +RYAN GODIN Those are great questions. Yes, you need to calibrate your spool gun when you first use it with the Millermatic 211. Once the calibration is complete, you can use Auto-Set. When you are finished with the spool gun, you can put your MIG gun back on and run it like normal. You do not need to calibrate the spool gun again after the first calibration. We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you!

    Do you need to do this procedure even if you aren't going to use the autoset feature with the spool gun?

    • @MillerWelders
      @MillerWelders  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Brett, thanks for reaching out. The main reason for the calibration process is to ensure the that the Autoset feature works properly, so if you are just using manual mode it wouldn’t be required. We hope this helps!
