Why choose the mini to compare to? Some of the points u raised are dealt with, with the hero black. For example, screen rather than buttons thru the menu; and other things missed out- such as GoPros front screen.
Our Hero 11 black broke (twice) so we could only compare these 🤷🏽♂️
Funny -Only $299 for the GoPro 11 Mini - I hold it in my hand - I set it to record - I walk around with it recording - I go back in and get my #1 picture - like a cop - the Iphone can't do it
What about Ergonomics? I always find it awkward to film myself with a phone, and attaching selfie stick and mini tripod defeats the purpose of filming with a phone for me, and the Gopro is smaller, with that lil shorty tripod still fits in my pocket
For ergonomics sure, if we’re out on the slopes or at the beach we prefer to use a gopro to record vlogs but if we’re sitting indoors and want to set up the shot we’ll use the iPhone

Why would someone buy a minitower replace a phone, it’s an action cam
Not surprising at all being that its more than 5 times the cost and who cares because you can't strap a iphone to your quad.
I saw another video about the Go pro 11 it have so many problems also the phone can makes calls massages and whats up Go pro can't.
They have their own purposes.
iPhone is water resistant not waterproof. And yes, I have tried it and had to pay apple £500 for a new phone due to water damage 😅😂

Regarding low light, the aperture of the iphone lens might be bigger, but the sensor size also matters. Thanks for the review.
iPhone 14 Pro seems impressive but it needs a gimbal. For underwater, fast action sports and transport videos, having an additional GoPro or action camera is a must. No matter what, don't get a 360 degree camera if you are going to be a travel vlogger or professional youtube. I was using Insta360 one x3. Video quality is trash and it is 3-5 times more editing work. My travel channel is a classic bad example 🥹..

I have the FX6 and now I have an iPhone 14 pro max too and I love to film with it 😅
So having lost my GoPro 10 on my last trip, I decided to not buy another (yet) and try my iPhone 14 pro for this trip. I used it mainly on a little shorty tripod / grip.
I found that over my 5 night trip, it was much more of a hassle using my phone to film. Setting the exposure and focus every shot, getting it out and mounting it every time. Also I was super conscious of it being ripped out of my hands whilst filming in the city, and I was conscious of dropping it over water etc. It’s also a lot more in your face whilst I’m filming in public places, where as the GoPro is much smaller and less noticeable. Also, If I was to lose the GoPro, it doesn’t have my entire life on it, like my phone does.
Going forwards, I’m going to buy the next GoPro and probably just use my phone along side it, mainly for low light shots. 👌🏻
both have their right to exist, it always depends on what you intend to do with them. for extreme sports, I would prefer the gopro. by the way, absolutely nice and informative video! keep it up.
You might as well start comparing things like a Ford Mustang sports car vs Ford Raptor pickup truck. Both vehicles have tires and can get two people to store. Then complaining that Mustang doesn't drive over rocks or through mud like the Raptor.

Hi Jake and Anna, I hope all is doing well for You. Thx for sharing your expertise. Indeed the comparison between the mobile phone and the action camera often comes up on the plate.. in fact especially for those who do not have action cameras and who doubt the most of this one...😉 Especially since people usually buy a mobile phone before buying an action camera.
I will say that many iphone users also have an action camera and their choice to make videos depends on the activity of the moment or the day.🙃
When it comes to outdoor activities I will freak out less using my Gopro than my Iphone...🤪 In addition, the accessories are much more varied for the action camera. People want to do everything from their mobile phone...and often most of their lives are run from it…😜
Certainly I am out of the ordinary but I have never tried or even thought of comparing my iphone with an action camera.😇 Even when buying my action camera, I compared existing ones on the market without thinking that my mobile phone was a possible substitute🙃.

Concerning the portable power station I did evaluate my possible needs recently and may purchase one in the future.👍 This can be really useful when away from everything for several days or at home in the event of a power cut to keep operational some elements essential to daily life.😉
Interesting results, thx. Could you make a comparison between the new galaxy s23 Ultra and the gopro? The s23u has a shocking good video stabilisation. You could run while filming and the footage looks like filmed with a gimbal. Both the iPhone 14 pro max and the s23 Ultra are much heavier than a gopro or a gopro mini.
Great point, yeah the weight might also be an issue for some users especially if you’re looking to mount the camera to moving objects, we don’t have a Samsung s23 but we’ll see what we can do 🙌🏽
@Jake Rich and Anna Chah Thanks for your kind answer. Does the gopro mini 11 has the same overheating issues like its bigger companion, the gopro hero 11? I agree with you that it's not a good idea jumping into a pool or the salty seawater with a Iphone 14 Pro. It's not rated for other water than fresh water without chlorine. The IPhone is too expensive to risk such a move.
To be honest...I have GoPro 11 hero and gopro 2.0 3way...bought it a month ago.....and it was the worst mistake ever...I should have just bought iPhone...I wish I had seen this video before I bought...the picture quality is trash...the battery...the overheating...you can't record anything for an hour ....GoPro sucks for real...
