BEST CHICKEN TINGA recipe / how to make easy TOSTADAS ❤

  • This Tinga recipe is amazing, I have prepared it with natural ingredients, you can assemble your tostadas as you wish, your family and friends will be very impressed with the flavor
    INGREDIENTS FOR THE CHICKEN----
    1 MED/LRG BONELESS CHICKEN BREAST
    2 BONELESS CHICKEN THIGHS
    1/2 SMALL ONION
    2 WHOLE ALLSPICE
    1 BAY LEAF
    2 GARLIC CLOVES
    SALT TO YOUR LIKING
    WATER TO COVER CHICKEN
    FOR THE TINGA SAUCE--------------
    4 CHIPOTLE PEPPERS FROM CAN
    5 TOMATOES (about 1 lb diced)
    4 Tbsp ADOBO SAUCE
    1 MEDIUM ONION
    2 BAY LEAVES
    3 GARLIC CLOVES
    1/3 TSP CUMIN
    3 WHOLE ALLSPICE (PIMIENTA GORDA)
    1 TSP OREGANO
    3/4 C. CHICKEN BROTH (as needed)
    5 Tbsp VEGETABLE OIL
    1 tsp CHICKEN BOUILLON
    small bunch chopped cilantro
    1/4 C. water for molcajete
    adjust salt
    TOPPINGS--------
    SHREDDED ROMAINE LETTUCE (or your choice)
    Sour cream (as needed)
    queso fresco (as needed)
    refried beans
    tostadas (handmade or store bought)

    My grandpa was from Mexico and my grandma was Irish. (Not an accepted marriage back then) they were married for 70 years. I'm so happy to find your channel and continue to honor my heritage. 💜 The name of your channel truly expresses you! Love how you say "My Ron" 💜

      You make me want everything you make. Today am going to try to make your sasage and bacon soup. You see i have cancer and most days am bed bound. But am determined to cook this recipe for my husband. I have to set and cook when i can get out of bed . Today am feeling well . So everyone wish me luck. Ill let you know how it turnef out.

      My dad was an Irish Catholic. My mom was a Norwegian Lutheran. Both my grandmothers said they would not attend the wedding, but they did. They were married for 47 years when my mom died suddenly. My dad always thought that she was the most beautiful woman in the world and she thought he was the most brilliant man.

    This is the first video of yours that I’ve seen and just want to say thank you!! My husband and I currently only have a small kitchenette for the next couple of months, but I still want to make meals for us but my space and cookware is very limited. Seeing your video made me feel like this recipe is very doable in my small area!! I can still make us a delicious lunch or dinner, thank God I found your video ❤

    I just made this dish by following your recipe. I didn't have whole all spice and whole cumin so I used the ground variety. It turned out delicious. Thank you so much!     I love your recipes, Rachel. I have tried some which turned out well. But...I gotta draw a line with using those thin, breakable storebought tostadas. To me...they are not even close to fried tostadas. They break easily. Why would I take time to make them from scratch? To do justice to your delicious Tinga topping. I cannot wait to try that one! I also would never use pre-made taco shells either...for the same reason. If I put in the work to make a home-cooked meal...I have to use real fried taco shells and real fried tostadas. It's messy and I kind of suck at evenly frying 'em...but so worth it.😁
    I learn so much from you. My mother-in-law was from Mexico...and taught me some things...but I never had freedom of time while working, to go to her house and learn her dishes, while she was still with us. I regret that very much. I am grateful for your videos. I think you have one for Pambazos which I did learn from her and look forward to trying yours as well. She was from the state of Guanajuato...so maybe your recipe will be a variation of that. We are lucky to have you!

    I agree the crispy corn tostadas store-bought are excellent. I heat them up in a medium oven with a layer of shredded cheese, then take out of the oven & top with meat mix of choice, with lettuce, tomato & cheese.

    Rachel I love chicken tinga. I make mine the same way except I'm i slice use tomatillos and cook them in place of the tomatoes. I've never tried cilantro in the recipe but I am willing to try using it. You should try shredded cabbage on it too it's the bomb. I topped mine with cheese ,cabbage, tomatoes ,avocado , and crema and salsa. This is a meal at our home on a weekly basis. I'm like you I could eat this every day. God bless you and Ron. I'm so enjoying your tutorials. I'm thinking of trying to make the cinnamon rolls today.

    Yummo! You sample this deliciousness so wonderful amiga I wish I were there too! Another homerun of a recipe and this is one I've made a couple of times before. I like that you didn't blend the sauce until smooth as I really like the idea of the texture and I know Johnny will too as this is another recipe that I can make a vegetarian version of. Thank you so much for these recipes as they truly help make our weeknight dinners some really tasty ones.
