It's most popularly known as the Dunning-Kruger effect (Dunning before Kruger). & also, I don't think BREXIT, anti-vax or Trump is necessarily an example, because Dunning-Kruger intimates you must have a little knowledge of the subject to support your confidence to accept or refute it.
Those who voted for BREXIT were summarily lied to, therefore have not the first clue regards the intricacies of the EU nor the UKs place within it.
Anti-vaxxers don't actually know how vaccines work, how they're made, the enormous effort that's gone into producing all - let alone the COVID - vaccines, what's in a vaccine & how the components work together. Therefore, they have not the first clue in the subject they're against. & those who supported Trump did it DESPITE his deplorability...meaning they knew he was an awful & wholly unsuited individual, they'll say it as much if you ask them, but they'll support him anyway. That is wilful ignorance.
@@KushnSads Thanks to brexit, i started learning more about our relationship with the eu. And I'm glad we are out, i don't know why people are against being self reliant as possible. This vaccine i don't need and definitely ain't in a rush and even WHO said its best to aim for herd immunity over full vaccinate the population.

@@DevilGames23 There's a difference between being self-reliant and self-defeating. To trade with the EU we need to have compatible laws. Even the US has to abide by some EU laws (look at GDPR as an example) - the difference is that we used to be able to influence those laws. Now we can't but we'll still be subject to them. How is that better?
