I'm an 80's baby. I remember hearing "Me so horny" as a lil girl and not knowing what I was listening to. We kids were so silly we would be at school singing "oh me so hungry, can't wait til lunch time". I told my mama about it and she laughed until tears were falling.

I've seen 2 Live Crew perform twice and every time I saw him, his arm was always broke. I remember when I want some "p" came out. A girl I went to school with nickname was Poosay. One day a group of girls wanted to beat her up after school and they started singing, "Heyyyy we want some Poosay !!" There were 3 of them and when they went for her, she wooped all 3 of them up with no help🤛🤛 I'll never forget that. It tripped me out !!! Best fight I had ever seen !!

The music sample in "Me So Horny" is from a song called "Firecracker" by a 1970's group "Mass Production." The phrase "Me so horny. Me love you long time!" is a sample that was lifted from the 1987 movie "Full Metal Jacket." It was said by actress Papillon Soo Soo, who played a Vietnamese prostitute, who in that scene was trying to solicit Matthew Modine's character.
Thanks for the well researched and put together story about him. It’s sad that he didn’t have good healthcare providers. Sounds like a lot of negligence that went on in the handling of his arm and his chest wound. Not understanding why he was released without being properly healed. That’s crazy. He wasn’t that old when he passed.
They probably released him because he didn't have money for further care. Money always is the first consideration. He was born in 1964, so he was not an old man at all. RIP
@@monilaninetynine3811 that makes sense I’m used to hospitals here in northern Cali that has donors that pay the bills of those who aren’t insured or under insured. I wish other hospitals offered this too and under why it’s not feasible.

CU do I have some stories to share with you and your subs. I was living in Florida when "Throw The D" was released. It was a huge deal down south. I didn't know what the "D" stood for until one Friday night, the radio station I was listening to "accidentally" played the explicit version. My sister had a rude encounter with Rev Run and Russell Simmons when they were at a local clothing store promoting Russell's fashion line. Both men were uppity and rude and my sister was disappointed because we loved Run DMC. And no, she wasn't acting like a groupie or a THOT. My dad had purchased a brand new car when "Me So Horny" was hot. One day,dad came to pick me up from an after school club I was participating in. He had a new boomin' system installed in his car and you won't believe what song was playing when he pulled up..."Me So Horny" I was standing outside with friends and when they recognized my father was the one playing 2 Live Crew, they began to tease me. 'I was so embarrassed. Great channel 👍

2Live Crew had the DOPEST dance tracks EVER! That was real party music. I was listening to them when they were still Underground and Luke Skyywalker started moving to the front. I was an elementary school kid and had to sneak down the street to my Middle School friend's houses because their first songs were WAAAAY worse than the later commercial ones but their music ALWAYS banged! We were dancing to them long before JukeBox Video made them more family friendly, and even then their music was the hottest dance music out. People should NEVER sleep on 2LC. They are true pioneers. I remember ALL the controversy surrounding 2 Live Crew and it was big indeed. There was no Social Media back then and all the controversy did was serve as free publicity for them because the more they told people not to listen to them, the more music of theirs people bought. Most Record stores didn't care nothing about those stickers. Lol.

Another great episode. I remember I had to sneak and listen to my NWA and 2Live Crew cassettes. I will never forget how people were acting trying to ban those artist that used explicit language. I knew if Luke won that case it would be game changing. Lots of rappers after them owe it to them for being able to say whatever they wanna say. I think they never pursued NWA or anybody else is because of Luke’s win and they saw that they were not intimidated them. Tupac called a lot of them out by name and said how he felt. Dionne Warwick, Delores Tucker, Mrs Reagen and several others were wanting them banned. If you don’t like the music you don’t have to buy it or listen to it. The problem they had was their kids was loving the music, trying to recite and mimic the dances and fashion from the urban areas. So glad I was there to witness this time in history, super proud of them for facing the law and standing up for their rights, so many artist that came in the 90’s and after them owe it all to them for paving the way. RIP Fresh kid ice!!!!

I’m glad you did this video. I’m from Miami and lived around the corner from The PAC Jam where they originally recorded at. On 12th ave and 54 street. I ran into them one day when I was headed to school. They were in the back of the PAC Jam loading up tour buses. It was him, brother Marquis and artist JDC. They were trying to Holla at me and my friend until I told them age lol. I was only 14 then. They sent me on my way to school lol. That was in the beginning.
