Iirc, supposedly both genders start out a dull rustish color, but in typical mantis fashion, the females kill and eat the males after reproduction, and the females then absorb the luster of the males - meaning that over a long life and countless reproduction, the exceptional female eventually becomes the brilliant golden goddesses that we fight in-game.

My favorite G rank final boss. Either for the fight or the monster itself. Seriously, we're talking about a neopteron who is on par with elder dragons. And unlike most final bosses, she isn't just a giant punching ball walking slowy around the map.
hell you can say the punching ball bit about most of the end bosses for the monster hunter series as they are the build up of skill and the requirements for maxing out your chances requires a lot of work

Stories 2 is now actually a thing and I would assume that the kinship special Athal Kha would be summoning a smaller version of Athal Neset to assist in its battle. Like a ginormous buff and a second HP bar.
@@Kevin-kt9dk I agree that this fight is amazing, but most Endgame Bosses are one hit wonders. Gogmazios, Dire Miralis, and Ceadeus. Sure, some endgame fights did make a return, such as Akantor, Ukanlos and Alatreon (though Alatreon was a Generations return, I'm still technically counting it.) I doubt she'll ever return, but if she does, I'll gladly eat my words and I won't complain.
@@StarFoxy778 The fatalis trio did multiple times- but then again that's not really a "final boss" ordeal as many monsters get left behind- hell barioth took some time off until generations ultimate. I think the only things guaranteed not to come back are gimmick based fights (like apex and deviants)

This thing was made from about 30 elder dragons and it can go toe on toe with the toughest elder dragons, so that's what created the Great Dragon War, the event where almost everything went extinct and Fatalis is well known for.

Eventually it reached a point where nature itself seemed go turn against them, every creature they found fighting them tooth, nail and claw to the death. Soon, these monsters began outright attacking the ancient civilization, many of them being Elder Dragons. It is said that Fatalis was at the forefront of these monsters, its rage and Ire for the ancientd unrivaled. Fast forward a few hundred years and the ancient civilization has been wiped out and most of the elder dragons left either gone or almost extinct. Fast forward an... Unspecified amount of time and the ancient civilizatiom has been forgotten about by most, save or the wyverians who went on to be the first hunters and maintain a balance with nature rather then dominate it.

Haven't fought her yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I love the sound of a final boss in the MH Series who isn't just a massive hp pool that slowly plods around Ingle Isle. A monster like this who proves you don't need to be a massive hulk of a fortress breaker like Dire Miralis or a godlike master of the elements like Alatreon to be a fantastic, memorable boss sounds right up my alley. A small, quick piece of shit that uses incredible dexterity, flowing grace and an easily underestimated intelligence make a fantastic combo here.
GenU is such a great game. It's just too bad that it released way too late to get a good playerbase going. If it'd've released before MHW, it'd've done really well, since the community was starving for a new G-rank game. Instead, not only did it release after MHW, it released the same month the pc version of MHW did, and we didn't even get the 3ds version, making people have to purchase a Switch if they wanted to play it.

Just the lack of communication hurts. I have more fun running solo than with randoms, but that's my prerogative.
Youre fucking killing it recently man, the last like 20 songs have all been amazing. The quality just keeps getting better and better, not that it was ever poor to begin with.
this is one monster that would absolutely become even more glorious if it was translated to Rise. Imagine if you could wirebug directly on top of Ahtal-Neset, but to make it fair, they made the mech as agile and hard hitting as, say... Safi'jiiva. Careful not to get bucked off.

So yes, as far as I know they did find it in Iceborne's files, but I only say this because I haven't seen much evidence to be contrary.
